He passed away. I hope you know who Ennio Morricone was. If you don't, please Google him. To me he was an important part of my childhood and this theme in particular feels more personal, more intimate than others. His soundtracks were legendary way before all other artists like Hans Zimmer even started working. To us Italians he was - and will always be - the author of the soundtrack of our lives. Thanks Ennio.

I still want to cry every time I hear this song no matter how many times I have seen the movie and how many years have passed. How did Morricone manage to encapsulate so much emotion into a single melody? it boggles my mind, he was truly gifted by God.
