With a solid couple years to work on zombies (I can’t imagine he’d come back and not) I think he could definitely give zombies a little revive after Vanguard and we’d probably see more Blundell type maps cause I can’t see him coming back and putting up with operators and simple, lifeless (excluding Mauer, but compare something like MOTD to Forsaken), maps. I honestly hope he comes back and really takes CoD 2024 and runs with it. After all, we all know what happens when Blundell gets to make a full game that’s not rushed or heavily scrapped at any point.

Yeah imo Mauer was the only Zombies feeling type map on CW, I thought Firebase Z was alright though, but Mauer was the best by a landslide, and it still yeah little to no character in the map itself, I just liked the layout. Cold War as a whole to me felt lifeless like they made some MP maps, added doors, perks, wallbuys, the box and then added zombies without making it feel zombified. Vanguard suffered from the same thing, but the 2 round based maps to me are almost more fun than anything CW had

Zombies has been dead since the end of bo3. That was peak zombies and after that it just changed for the worse. Every thing that made zombies zombies was altered or removed. First of all they need to bring back the old perk system and change the hud back, the new aesthetic completely throws off the zombies experience with the map and everything etc. It feels like special ops , very infinity ward like. They also gotta bring back the old style of play and toss all the objective shit . Bo1 zombies was fire , bo2 was amazing and bo3 picked up on that and overall turned out to be a fun , memorable and one of the best zombies experiences and the last good one. They need to go back to their old system , create a new storyline that’s fire and go from there. I really think the main issue is the new system. The objective shit , and the way the hud looks , the aesthetic is just off . They gotta go back to basics and build from there. Reboot the og storyline or idk

11:06 I am in such disbelief of this announcement that I think this MIGHT be the case. I am in denial to the point that I am convinced on some level this is a massive jape for the deviation community. That would be a TOTAL Blundell thing to do. Think about it...
This draws up a massive amount of media around deviation and gets people talking about it again.
The way he left is EXTREMELY vague and ambiguous.
He is/was in a position within Deviation to pull this kind of stunt.
Technology improvements over the past half decade have made working remote and thus working behind the scene from home or wherever else easier than ever.
According to Milo, JC, and anyone else he is crazy passionate about game dev and to literally walk away from a game dev company where you literally have the ability to do nearly anything makes ZERO sense.
I don't know, I laughed my ass off when you said this is the new unsolvable Easter Egg because I thought of this and I thought wow that would be funny, creative, and unbelievable as hell.
My main confusion with my theory is the payoff. If he is playing Wizard of Oz, how does the company announce his return and when? Why? What has to happen for this ALL to have been worth it. And honestly my lack of an answer to this question cripples my faith in this theory and in the icon that is Blundell.
On the other end of the spectrum, if this news is fully legitimate and Jason has dropped this company at the drop of a hat... heck that guy. As someone who has uprooted my life for a job and company that I am excited and passionate about only to have half of the reason I left my previous job AND MOVED ACROSS THE COUNTRY leave me for no explicit reason... To hear this news, breaks my heart for JC and the DOZENS of other gave devs / backend employees that did the same... only to find that a prominent leader dropped them extremely quickly and for unknown and vague reasons is infuriating. If deviation fails because of this decision, Jason would have screwed over ALL those employees that had faith in him and his direction. Or at the very least, they have to be feeling their job security is more in question, AND feeling even more stressed to make this first game a great one despite the odds of this transfer of direction being historically notorious for crippling/ killing games before they even release.
All this being said, I await for JC's next video or stream for hopefully some clarification on the matter. My heart goes out to all those employees that are in the same position as JC and I hope this whole situation works out well in the end.

I feel like Jason has been watching how Zombies has been falling from the sidelines and having been a big part of zombies and it having been a big part of him, he doesn't want to see it fall so shamefully. That could be a reason that the whole "He's returning to Treyarch" theory may go. He may return to try to return Zombies to another golden age. To, as you said, Set the record straight. @@Berryturtle1 but they're in an unprecedented position. There is a very real possibility that CoD will be Xbox exclusive in 3-4 years. Do you think Sony will leave it up to chance and let deviation, their only shot at competing, go off and make a quirky, weird FPS? No way. they'll want a warzone competitor, arcade style gameplay and maps, bombastic action campaign, etc. I could totally see Sony being way more heavy handed with this project than they've ever been. Like their future as a console manufacturer could depend on it.

Given Zombies direction with Cold War and Vanguard? I don’t see him bailing on his company to return. Then again wha if he feels like there’s unfinished business & that he could leverage his experience and reception towards recent games to settle old scores. Who knows.
I gotta agree though losing Jason has he significantly less interested in Deviation’s upcoming game. My hope is enough talented people are there to capture the spirit of what he would’ve gone for.

i highly doubt jason would go back to treyarch BUT if he did i would welcome that alot. he had a great vision with what he did with zombies and the state that zombies is currently in, we desperately need someone that leads the zombies team out of this hole they dug for themselves. preferrably someone that appreciates jason blundells vision and understands how many fans liked his approach to zombies. i could see treyarch/activision throwing jason a bone to come back and save zombies but on the other hand i find it kinda weird that he left deviation so quickly. maybe he has family issues, who knows. all i know is that treyarchs next game must be on the same level as at least bocw or im jumping off of this train.
edit: now hold up one minute, its time to bring out the tinfoil hats. microsoft aquiring activision was probably planned for quite some time. deviation games having a lot of experience with call of duty games and being ps partnered could mean they are working on something to replace call of duty once it leaves playstation (apparently it does from what ive heard). this is high level conspiracy stuff right here so dont quote me on this but it could indeed be in the realm of possibilities. they probably got a lot of funding from playstation as well i assume.

@@thiccortreat4457 i ain't looking into this crap, the cod franchise has gone to shit recently so I just don't care about the new games anymore as they are just garbage. The new wm is going to be dogshit. Mark my words. Its going to be exactly the same as vanguard and all the other shit.

It wouldn't surprise me if Activision made a deal with Jason to make Zombies great again. Vanguard was bad enough for that to happen.

I can't imagine him going back to Treyarch after working with Activision and their environment & Jason sounds like he works better with creative freedom.

this feels like undoubtable confirmation that there's gonna be a standalone zombies game in 2023 as the free to play cod game to me.
