    An absolutely mandatory video to combine with your original set, really informative! Really hope these come out for all your sets to really help teach how to use them in combinations with their booklets!

      I'm planning to create specific videos to help out with each set, to explore them more and use them to the max. It will take a bit of time though as the backlog of videos to do is increasing every day!

    22:10 Did not realize that if I am mixing an chromatic black and add white, I am affectively greying the color. It make so much sense! Very good stuff!

    For non art people like me, how to mix the colors and maintaining chroma is one of the biggest challenges.

    I am new to painting minis or more so 3d printed objects in general. I studied fine arts and traditional oil painting and these are the only colors for that usecase that actually make any sense to me :D. I don't get the need for a milllion different pre mixed colors other than convenience maybe.
    Will try out the kimeras for sure.

    This video is a big help and all I can ask is please produce more. Perhaps some with examples on painted figures, even just Space Marine backpacks, to show blending ect. Also can’t wait for the signature colours from the kickstarter, which I sadly missed out on. Any idea when they will be released?

    How do you usually recreate your mixes? Do you mix again by eye? Do you memorize/write down exact ratios you've used?

    • @kimeramodels
      @kimeramodels  2 года назад +1

      I do it by eye, it's the best training to become better. Slight variations are also good for making things look more realistic

    Fantastic video and very useful information for a color theory newbie like me.
    Question: What is the cool looking desk lamp on the table behind you during the intro? I am in the market for another task light.

    • @kimeramodels
      @kimeramodels  2 года назад

      That lamp is the best thing I ever bought honestly! It's the BenQ WiT. You can adjust power and color of the light, it has a great lit area and it doesn't alter the color perception. It's really something (but it's expensive).
      Thank you for your comment :)

    Thanks a lot very informatice and clear. Would your white be a Titanium white pigment or a Zinc white pigment? For mixing Zinc white is less overpowering, giving you more mixing control.

    • @kimeramodels
      @kimeramodels  11 месяцев назад +1

      Titanium most of the time. I have zinc too but I rarely reach for it, only when it’s imperative that you blend a lot and you don’t need covering power. In that zinc is surely better.

    • @kimeramodels
      @kimeramodels  Год назад +1

      The expansion set works a bit differently, so not exactly the same video but a video that explains some of the uses of each color and how to mix them to obtain cool things is definitely on the table. A video that touches some of this aspects is coming up already though :)

    Great video. Do I have to dilute your paints or can I apply them directly on my mini ? Thank you.

    • @kimeramodels
      @kimeramodels  11 месяцев назад +1

      I’m planning a video on dilution specifically because the answer is “it depends”. As a rule of thumb, yes dilute them up to the point the paint flows well from the brush but still adhere to the mini.

      @jhrykkjutku 11 месяцев назад
