Elephant Sanctuary Experience in Chiang Mai, Thailand 🇹🇭

- While in Chiang Mai, Thailand, we spent 48 hours feeding, walking, and bathing elephants in the lush green mountains of the countryside. Elephants have been a tremendous part of the Thai culture for hundreds and hundreds of years, so we looked around for an ethical rescued-elephant experience that would allow us to spend some time with the beautiful, majestic creatures. Whenever we weren’t admiring the elephants, we were either soaking up the tranquility of the region from our riverside bungalow, or taking a scenic bamboo raft ride down a jungle river. @ChadandClaire where is it best to do currency exchange while in Chiang Mai? I have a trip here on the 27th of March and want to know if I should convert currency here in the USA or if I should wait till I'm in Thailand (like is the rate better and do you have a recommended place)?
@@thequeensthief5593 do it in Thailand, you can find do it at the airport if you land during the day. Or walk in to any bank and do the exchange with bank retailer.

ELEPHANTS ARE AS SENTIENT AS WE ARE. THEY FEEL THE SAME EMOTIONS AS THEIR FELLOW HUMANS AND ARE VERY PROTECTIVE OF THEIR BABIES AND THEIR OLDER MEMBERS OF THEIR ELEPHANT SOCIETY IN WHICH THEY FORM VERY CLOSE BONDS. THEY ALSO, WHEN ALLOWED, FORM CLOSE BONDS WITH THEIR FELLOW SENTIENT BEINGS, HUMAN BEINGS.

I can remember riding in the back of a pick up truck here in the USA without getting a ticket or pulled over. Everyone did it and it was fun. Now they control that and don't allow it lol but it used to be a thing here years ago

memorable experience.. i too had this experience in Chiang mai.. what is the company you went with cause the company that is listed in description is same but the video experience seems different... as they provided hand sewn tops to wear and the spots were different and no 2 nights stay... enjoy! chiang mai is awesome

OMG....you should eat TOM YUM KUNG with rice, even Thai people we didn't eat TOM YUM KUNG without rice. It is too spicy. However, we are happy to see you enjoy every activity in Thai. Have a nice trip.

Tips : Tom Yum need to eat with rice it have a strong test and if it’s serve in a Big hotpot, it ‘s for sharing.

Hello Claire, where did you stay in that Elephant experience?
They’re staying at Karen Tribe Native Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai (pronounce Chee Mai). Usually they can wear the traditional Karen clothes for experience but maybe they were not offered atm. So many mispronounced names of food and locations, but were used to foreigners not knowing how to pronounce names properly.
I pick up a few things mispronounced in the video; Tom Yum - Toh Yum
Pad Thai - Pah Thai
Chiang Mai - Chee Mai.
Commonly the most mispronounced word is Bangkok as “Bang Cock” when it really pronounce “Bah Gor”. lol.

What a wonderful place to visit. What is the name of this resort? I will add to our bucket list travels for 2027. I love elephants, they are the gentle giants that we grew up to learn about and cherish in my culture as well. I’m from Laos and have only been back to visit once but will return to do multi country trip. This video is definitely the best I have seen and can relate to. Thank you for sharing your adventures. This made me smile and laugh with nostalgia of my home country.
