Zaki Haidari, a former Hazara refugee from Afghanistan, endured over a decade of heartbreaking separation from his family while trapped in Australia's harsh immigration system. Last year, after years of anguish, he was finally reunited with them. As a passionate refugee advocate, Zaki has relentlessly fought for the rights of refugees and asylum seekers in Australia, many of whom remain in agonizing limbo, waiting for their chance to be reunited with their loved ones. This is Zaki’s story of advocacy and resilience.
