And they are doing the same right now with Gottmik. Saving her from the bottom in that disco challenge and giving her a win when Utica deserved it... girl... I was all for Gotmikk when the season started but then I saw the favouritism and now I like her less and less.

Also it’s told to us that Utica got the hardest verse and most difficult choreography in the rusical and, while I agree with rosé killing it, how does gottmik get more credit for jumping around pretending to play guitar than Utica?
@@kotosqoposrly In my opinion, Symone is really the Gigi of the season. By episode 4 she'd won 2 challenges, and ever since, people don't care for her anymore since she feels so pushed by production. She'll obviously make it to the end so why bother caring what she does? Then revealing she can't put together a look herself and I doubt Symone is gonna win now with the way fans react to her (though obviously she's going straight to the top). Also the minute she was put in the bottom last episode, everyone knew she wasn't going anywhere. They just dare to put her in the bottom as opposed to Gigi who production thought couldn't lipsync.

I hate when people say that “Gigi was robbed” or “Jaida only won because of blm” because Jaida deserved all her wins while Gigi was pushed into the frontrunner position by the judges
in my opinion, Gigi's only non-contested win is i'm that bitch (which technically widow really won) and the vegas challenge (which usually doesn't even have a winner) while Jaida was the obvious winner of 2 of her 3 wins
But Jaida did win because of BLM. If Gigi wasn't that shitty at being political and didn't have that privilaged attitude, she might won. But Jaida was better material for a winner from that stand point. It wasn't the only factor, but crowning someone who is great drag queen and treats life and important issues seriously was the best choice.

I was *astounded* that Sh*tty Pie wasn't in the bottom at the comedy show. She broke the challenge and was selfish to not be aware of her time. You fail the challenge, you should be in the bottom.
the thing about sherry not being in the bottom when she went over the time slot in her comedy thing was: would she had been as funny if she didn't go over the time? people say “oh she was funny though so they kept her” but were her first [seven? five? whatever the time limit was] as funny as the others? does anyone get this like I feel like if the other queens had been given as much time as she took maybe they would've been funnier too? the logic just doesn't add up for her to not be in the bottom that episode.
I remember in season 6 during the interview/talk show challenge, Bianca ended up mismanaging her time and they just cut her off when the 5 minutes (or however long they had) were over. This got her a low placement (not bottom 2 though) that episode because she was unable to ask Chaz any questions. I feel like they should have done the same with Sherry. Just cut her off when the time was over and judge her for what she did within the time limit
To me, Widow was by far the most robbed because they wanted to push a storyline of her second guessing herself and cracking under the pressure so they literally put her in that circumstance. I think Widow could've easily won this season if they'd just let the competition run it's course without shoving all the glaring production riggery into it, she is the whole damn package and moreso.
Rewatching season 5 along with the Racechasers podcast, I realized how diverse the wins were awarded. Coco had a win. Ivy had a win. Roxxxy. Detox. It made the season more suspenseful and more entertaining to watch as a whole. The production now seems to favour letting one or two person dominate a season and made things much more predictable. I basically stopped watching season 12 after half the episodes. And even though shitty pie was a sexual predator, I wanted to watch the whole season uncut so I know why she won certain challenges and safe in some.
From what I've seen, Sh*tty had incredibly extravagant outfits made for her that she wore on the runway that the judges would have ADORED and no doubt saved her a few times. The judges rode Ben dela Creme for playing old ladies too much so Sh*tty would have bored them fast with that - and comedy queens generally don't win. It was quite clear that GiGi and Jada were heading to the top though.

All of this. This was my first season (I'd watched 7 but didn't care for it and thought drag race wasn't for me, I've binged all other seasons since) but I legit thought the show is supppeer rigged. Having watched the earlier seasons though I feel like that tends to happen towards the end but nothing at this level

Exactly! I love that the producers forced Gigi and Shitty Pie into the top four and still couldn't make either of them win, it was the ultimate irony and they (the producers) deserved every second of it 😂
Literally, the politics challenge made me SO BAD. Jaida winning was the BEST PART and it was amazing, but Gigi & Shitty should've been in the bottom because they both did terrible. Widow & Jackie should have not been in the bottom. I stand by this.
well i understand the low place of Jackie, like she only had one joke the entire challenge, even though it was funny at first, it became boring. But Widow omg it made me feel so bad, like she was so funny but the editing was trying to make it cringe efnefqekn terrible
As much as Sherry is disgusting. I would love to see what Season 12 was before she was edited out because she wins are like strange and we knew nothing about her to the judges favoring her are so strange and foreign to us because she's barely there.
I kinda agree, but I feel like if we saw S12 as normal, it would have been way worse. Even disregarding the actions of Sherry, she was still percieved as not a great character from different things she did ON THE SHOW e.g. the one woman show challenge. It's likely she would have been Silky 2.0 if we saw it normally which would have really clouded the season
I think (not 100% sure) that the UK and some countries in South America had the Sherry edit in Netflix So if you have a VPN you can watch the season, I'm from Mexico and here we got the same as the US, but I've heard some other countries didn't, so maybe Colombia or Argentina is different
jan low key got the blu hydrangea edit .. they both had decent “ commercials “ .. both put in the bottom over a “ funny “ ( shtick heavy ) finalist .. went up against a great lipsyncher to their idols song with the idol on the panel .. considered robbed .. and they’re the fan favorites from their respective season .
I still think Jan gave up on purpose after not winning the Rusical. In her commercial shoot they kept telling her it was one-note and constant over the top, but she never applied the critiques. Jan loves the show and she should've known to listen.

I am SO happy that someone else brought up what was wrong with Gigi's redcoat outfit. I mentioned it in a comment after the episode aired and how she should have been in the bottom purely for that, and I got RIPPED APART. So thank you for validating that opinion.
Yeah, Jackie should’ve totally won the snatch game episode over Gigi... I hate how they made Jackie be like the one that is just coasting through even though she’s really talented and was high in almost every episode.
I thought both did great first time I watched it, but second time I didn't find Gigi as funny as the first time, while I still laughed at Jackie's. I do still think Gigi did well though. It could have been a double win, like on season 7
Like Gigi won... with a basic look. Like that was nothing gag-worthy, it was a simple silhouette and costume. Jackie’s at least was not basic (though I will admit I wasn’t a fan of the bottom part of it, idk why tbh something about it was just off)
Gigi picked a robot, whose name they couldn't use cause copyright, and then just made robot jokes. Jackie did an impersonation. Jackie had a better one woman show. Crystals was more of a sketch.

Shitty and Jan were both good in the same way in the fossy challange bit Jans runway was great, smart and out of the box while Shittys was "swallowing her up". For this Jan should have been in the top 2
Oof. Disagree. That "tool" outfit was a cute concept, but it looked basic to me. Yeah, Shitty's runway wasn't perfect, but I also really liked the concept, and I think it was executed (and presented!) better than Jan's.
Crystal managed to stick around because she learned how to market herself to production and RuPaul and honestly good for her for doing that. Crystal found the best strategy to keep herself in the game and I don’t think she ever believed she was going to win the season but she knew she didn’t need to. Crystal also best embodies the “Losing is the New Winning” strategy on Drag Race where a contestant knows if they can just be entertaining and capture the fans they don’t need to win challenges or win the season to have a successful run on the show, but in order to do that they need a reason for production to keep them and not put them up for elimination. Crystal found what RuPaul liked about her and exploited that, it was optimal gameplay for a queen who was never going to win the season. I think Crystal is really an unrecognized genius for maximizing their potential on the show. Edit: when I say Crystal was never going to win I’m not saying that because I don’t like her or don’t think she talented. I love her and think she is incredibly talented, but let’s be real about the Queens who win drag race. You can tell when a queen is just never going to win and it’s often regardless of the talent of the queen.
This is exactly how I felt about Utica (my favorite contestant)... we all knew she wasn't going to win because, let's be honest, RuPaul definitely has a type when it comes to winners-and it's not an androgynous, contemporary-art-esque queen with theater-kid humor. A lot of people point out the comedy/acting challenges but like, I doubt the season would've played out much differently if she were perceived as funny.
That's so lazy. The reason it was a good look, is cause no one else thought of doing Michelle from her Seduction aera, even though Michelle has that running joke about her single on the Bodyguard Soundtrack. GiGi dug a little deeper than most of the other queen's just doing iconic Michelle looks since she became popular on Drag Race, which made her stand out.

I can see why audiences didn't like it because it was "obscure" and didn't look like the version of Michelle we know and love, but tbh I think she was extremely smart to pick a look that would be nostalgic and exciting to see FOR MICHELLE. Of course Michelle and the other judges were going to love it - it shows she did research beyond RPDR/Michelle's IG and it brings back fond memories (and of course it doesn't hurt to portray Michelle's youngest skinniest self lol).
I wish we had the original edit of the show where (according to the queens in interviews before the Shitty Pie stuff came out and they re-edited it) Gigi was the season's villain. Re-editing her into the show's protagonist and papering over her mistakes ultimately didn't work out for the producers bc instead of being an iconic villain she just came off as unfairly favored and un-self-aware.
In some countries a few episodes aired unedited, but by the end of the show I believe she was pretty much gone everywhere. You can search for those if you're interested.

Thank you for your thoughts on the Rusical. Completely agreed. Jan did a better job embodying Madonna, while showing off her talent, AND wearing a look that had me double-take. I was like "Why is Michelle on-stage?" Then I realized it was Jan, doing Michelle's outfit from the Glamazonian Airways challenge. She was Michelle, while still being a bit of Jan. Gigi was Gigi, in a bikini and a wig, with nails. There was not a lick of Michelle in there. And if the Toot-N-Boot staff for WOWPresents can't find a picture of the original look for the official review, something is wrong there xD In short, Gigi deserved second or third on the Rusical, not first. Jan did the deed, and she didn't need a backflip or a trick to be the best. She just needed the talent she had and showed :)
Producers did "not find a picture", they couldn't show it because of copy right. Just look up the Soul System music video with Michelle Visage and see how Gigi looks 100% like her.

Oh my god, I love Tamisha but can you imagine how terrible it would have been if Jaida wasn't in this season? Even though I loved so many of this season's queens, I can't imagine anyone else having won, and I assume the producers would have got away with crowning Gigi which probably would have gone down like a lead balloon.
The rusical was not as close of a call as many people think… no runway would’ve given Jan that win after doing the most basic choreo with flat shoes on
A huge part of why Shitty was so underwhelming in Madonna was the fact that they cut out like a third of her number where she broke into dance, which I’m gonna guess the judges lived for.
I think they really set Gigi up for a Shea Coulee kind of trajectory for an All Stars Season. She’ll be the clear front-runner coming into an All Stars, but hopefully there will be some more uncertainty with who wins that season. I loooove Shea and totally think she deserved the win in AS5, but I also felt like it was obvious she was gonna win the whole time.

I liked gigi’s runway for the stars and stripes.... but it wasn’t stars and stripes, but she got praise for it, she should’ve been in the bottom, but they knew she’d get beat by widow, like i love gigi but they really protected her
Yes, It was Stars and stripes, not Red White and blue. On season 11 Nina West wore something similar on the sequins on the runway (snatch Game episode) and people said It was "awful". Gigi was more original with it looking more like a bodysuit, but Nina did use the right color
suggestion for the series: at the end give a summary of how many wins and bottoms all the queens would have in the unrigged version. For example, here Shitty would have had 1 win, and 3,4 or even 5 bottom 2 placements!

I think the makeover episode was always going to be a double shantay - the fans were there for the 'ultimate drag race experience' and I think having to see your partner lose a lipsync would be a bit of a damper on the whole thing. Heidi clearly won the lipsync, but they had to justify the double shantay, hence saying that Jackie's performance was really funny.
It’s gotten to the point that you can tell which queens are front runners by how they are never put in the bottom when they are obviously underperforming in challenges. I think they also cast more filler queens as well.
I think the re-editing of the season fucked it so bad. Cause allegedly sherry and Gigi had a rivalry, which explains the constant favoritism. It was for a story we never saw
And from what I've heard, SP was supposed to get a hero edit and Gigi a villain edit, hilariously enough. Having to almost completely cut out their "hero" leaves the would-be "villain" with a very muddled edit and explains a lot of the mixed feelings about Gigi.
low key i think the sherry pie mess kind of saved season 12. it made the show drop most of the storylines it had planned and as a result it came across as less overproduced than the previous seasons
To me, ever since the show was recognized as fashion forward, especially with the MET Gala, queens who can output fashionable looks go much further into the competition than other queens, like Gigi or Gotmik
I wonder what a season would look like if they based their decisions off of actual performance and integrity...honestly. I think they a big reason Jinx’s season was so satisfying was because she actually deserved to win.

I’m still mad Widow went home when she did. But I just saw her perform this weekend in Kansas City, and I can say she is still thriving. Hopefully we will see her on All Stars 7!
I agree with Jaida’s win for the makeover, because her makeup was so beyond perfection and she made her outfits (all of them), even tho I wanted Crystal to win, if I was being fair I would have still given it to Jaida.

Thank you for calling out the favoritism of Aiden since her fans are too busy being bullying hypocrites to own the truth!!!!! Aiden got favored on stuff that have gotten queens in the bottom or eliminated in the past (same wig/pussycat wig, halfassed ball outfit, not setting up her game) and she twisted the narrative by saying the girls were judging her for being different when they just didn’t like how lazy she was being and not owning what she did wrong.
Gigi Goode was the moment on the runway but honestly the "stars & stripes" was awful, the Michelle was basic and the buttons no bows was disappointing. The edit helped a lot. I still remember my reaction to some Jan's looks being way better.
Here’s a theory they made the top 2 in episode one and two because they wanted to see Gigi lip sync to know if she can lip sync and to see if they could put her in the bottom once or twice which she couldn’t lip sync so they kept on saving her
Her lip sync honestly wasn’t that bad. It was more comedic. It wasn’t high energy like widows but it was decent. Widow 100 percent won that lip sync tho.
Jan should not have gone home I feel like shitty pie or Gigi should of been in the bottom two like at that point I really didn't understand the hype behind Gigi like her runways weren't even fashion they were all essentially costumes

@@bencepeszmeg4997 gigis looks were polished but none were original looks if you get me they were all essentially based off a reference the capes look was the look from troop Beverly hills, her purple was just Daphne, her frozen look was an ice cream girl (you can not tell me that was not a costume). The only original looks i got from gigi was the bows and buttons- even though she missed the bows part.

Watching s13 the favoritism of certain queens is still there and I believe that production should judge the queens more fairly, because the "fans" send hate to the the pushed queens when they have no control over the judging. This happened in season 10 (eureka), 11(silky), 12(gigi) and now 13 (kandy).
I really feel like they threw Jan under the bus the whole season and I don’t get why. Maybe she was too polished and they thought fans would be bored by that... She was in the top or safe the whole season and then eliminated (rightfully so even though she’s my favorite queen EVER).

I totally agree that queens shouldn't get hate for poor judging/production decisions, but I do think Gigi deserved the criticism she got at the end of the season for ignoring pandemic guidelines and being generally politically ignorant.
But Jan embodied both Madonna and Michelle. Madonna is not known for doing back flips. And out of all the queens, the choreography was in Gigi's favor. And Jan had every little detail down to the tee with her runway look. Like the person said in the video, if any other queen came out in a basic bikini, they would've been in the bottom. But since it's a skinny white queen, they get praise for it.

I’m not even a Jan Stan I think she was a bit over rated too, But it’s kind of not fair when they pick and choose when the runway matters for queens they want to push through. The reason for giving Gigi the win is because her runway (despite being a simple bikini) is thinking outside the box. The judges didn't see it coming that someone would wear a Michelle Visage outfit when she was part of a girl group. Also they said that Gigi embodied Madonna more as compared with Jan. But I still think that Jan should've win as well. It could've been a double win. Or they could've give it to Jan. But I guess they wanted to give Jan a rudemption when she's competing for All Stars 6.
I think it's less about hating gigi more so hating the fact that production ruined her reputation by saving her multiple times just to keep her for the finale. Would have loved to see gigi at least lip sync for her life at some point

I don't think that Gigi was SO MUCH benefited from production as you say in the video, and that is because Sherry Pie was getting the exact treatment from production. The only difference between them is that at the time of airing, we already knew that Sherry Pie was disqualified and even got cut from the final editing in some episodes. I think that fans were pissed because there was no competition until Jaida won her second challenge, and not because of Gigi getting so much praise. Think about it, Sherry Pie already won 2 challenges and one top2 by episode 5. And at all time we knew that she couldn't win, so the only one frontrunner left was Gigi. Jaida's win was totally deserved, but I think that Gigi's not winning was not because the fanbase was sick of her. Look at the numbers, Gigi has double the instagram followers than Jaida.
I also found very interesting how in the debate episode the 2 girls with the “different” runway looks (with a deep, important and serious meaning) ended up in the bottom 🤨 their messages were powerful and actually raised awareness, unlike Sh*rry’s look which was literally disgusting and horrible. Jackie and Widow we’re definitely robbed
I’m still confused to this day why sh*tty pie won the worlds worst challenge. Not only from a judging standpoint should heidi have won, but it would make more sense for Heidi to win from a storyline standpoint. The main plot of the episode was the winners of the last episodes ranking the other queens and they made a big thing of heidi being placed in the bottom by jaida. So if Heidi won the challenge wouldn’t that make a lot of sense to wrap up the episodes story? Just a thought I had
So, looking back at this season, it makes total sense. Gigi and Sh*rry were set up to win, yet Jaida ended up winning all the marbles. I wish Rock M. had stayed longer and Aiden gone home sooner, and I do believe that the double shantay should have been between Widow and Jan
Unpopular opinion I guess, but as a Madonna stan of 36 years, I believe Gigi deserved the Rusical win. She gave me the Madonna feels. And my 2nd fave was Jaida. Jan was my 3rd favorite, the best only if judging purely on vocals.

She'll obviously make it to the end so why bother caring what she does? Then revealing she can't put together a look herself and I doubt Symone is gonna win now with the way fans react to her (though obviously she's going straight to the top).

Just cut her off when the time was over and judge her for what she did within the time limit

To me, Widow was by far the most robbed because they wanted to push a storyline of her second guessing herself and cracking under the pressure so they literally put her in that circumstance. Rewatching season 5 along with the Racechasers podcast, I realized how diverse the wins were awarded. Coco had a win. Ivy had a win. Roxxxy. Detox. It made the season more suspenseful and more entertaining to watch as a whole. The production now seems to favour letting one or two person dominate a season and made things much more predictable. I basically stopped watching season 12 after half the episodes. And even though shitty pie was a sexual predator, I wanted to watch the whole season uncut so I know why she won certain challenges and safe in some.
Even Alyssa and Lineysha had a win. Season 5 has probably been the most suspenseful season to date in the franchise.
From what I've seen, Sh*tty had incredibly extravagant outfits made for her that she wore on the runway that the judges would have ADORED and no doubt saved her a few times.
The judges rode Ben dela Creme for playing old ladies too much so Sh*tty would have bored them fast with that - and comedy queens generally don't win.
It was quite clear that GiGi and Jada were heading to the top though.

I kinda agree, but I feel like if we saw S12 as normal, it would have been way worse. Even disregarding the actions of Sherry, she was still percieved as not a great character from different things she did ON THE SHOW e.g. the one woman show challenge. It's likely she would have been Silky 2.0 if we saw it normally which would have really clouded the season

Crystal managed to stick around because she learned how to market herself to production and RuPaul and honestly good for her for doing that. Crystal found the best strategy to keep herself in the game and I don’t think she ever believed she was going to win the season but she knew she didn’t need to. Crystal also best embodies the “Losing is the New Winning” strategy on Drag Race where a contestant knows if they can just be entertaining and capture the fans they don’t need to win challenges or win the season to have a successful run on the show, but in order to do that they need a reason for production to keep them and not put them up for elimination. Crystal found what RuPaul liked about her and exploited that, it was optimal gameplay for a queen who was never going to win the season. I think Crystal is really an unrecognized genius for maximizing their potential on the show.
Edit: when I say Crystal was never going to win I’m not saying that because I don’t like her or don’t think she talented. I love her and think she is incredibly talented, but let’s be real about the Queens who win drag race. You can tell when a queen is just never going to win and it’s often regardless of the talent of the queen.
This is exactly how I felt about Utica (my favorite contestant)... we all knew she wasn't going to win because, let's be honest, RuPaul definitely has a type when it comes to winners-and it's not an androgynous, contemporary-art-esque queen with theater-kid humor. A lot of people point out the comedy/acting challenges but like, I doubt the season would've played out much differently if she were perceived as funny.

The reason it was a good look, is cause no one else thought of doing Michelle from her Seduction aera, even though Michelle has that running joke about her single on the Bodyguard Soundtrack. GiGi dug a little deeper than most of the other queen's just doing iconic Michelle looks since she became popular on Drag Race, which made her stand out.
To me, Jaida should have won the ball challenge. Gigi literally only stuck some balls to her 3rd look wheras Jaida made an entire look out of balls.

I can see why audiences didn't like it because it was "obscure" and didn't look like the version of Michelle we know and love, but tbh I think she was extremely smart to pick a look that would be nostalgic and exciting to see FOR MICHELLE. Of course Michelle and the other judges were going to love it - it shows she did research beyond RPDR/Michelle's IG and it brings back fond memories (and of course it doesn't hurt to portray Michelle's youngest skinniest self lol).
Nobody made a stunning look anyway. It was supposed to be inspired and she chose the most different one.
The riggery is: they wanted Crystal to be the late blossoming queen, so Jan couldn't fit this story line. Love both tho.
I wish we had the original edit of the show where (according to the queens in interviews before the Shitty Pie stuff came out and they re-edited it) Gigi was the season's villain. Re-editing her into the show's protagonist and papering over her mistakes ultimately didn't work out for the producers bc instead of being an iconic villain she just came off as unfairly favored and un-self-aware.
In some countries a few episodes aired unedited, but by the end of the show I believe she was pretty much gone everywhere. You can search for those if you're interested.

I was like "Why is Michelle on-stage?" Then I realized it was Jan, doing Michelle's outfit from the Glamazonian Airways challenge. She was Michelle, while still being a bit of Jan. Gigi was Gigi, in a bikini and a wig, with nails. There was not a lick of Michelle in there. And if the Toot-N-Boot staff for WOWPresents can't find a picture of the original look for the official review, something is wrong there xD
In short, Gigi deserved second or third on the Rusical, not first. Jan did the deed, and she didn't need a backflip or a trick to be the best. She just needed the talent she had and showed :)

Oh my god, I love Tamisha but can you imagine how terrible it would have been if Jaida wasn't in this season? Even though I loved so many of this season's queens, I can't imagine anyone else having won, and I assume the producers would have got away with crowning Gigi which probably would have gone down like a lead balloon.
Jaida didn’t replace Tamisha, she replaced someone else but that queen hasn’t been named as far as I know. Nicky Doll replaced Tamisha.

A huge part of why Shitty was so underwhelming in Madonna was the fact that they cut out like a third of her number where she broke into dance, which I’m gonna guess the judges lived for.
also her voice was not bad… she is a theatre queen so…
I think they really set Gigi up for a Shea Coulee kind of trajectory for an All Stars Season. She’ll be the clear front-runner coming into an All Stars, but hopefully there will be some more uncertainty with who wins that season. I loooove Shea and totally think she deserved the win in AS5, but I also felt like it was obvious she was gonna win the whole time.
Exactlyyy. Shea Coulee was lowkey robbed because they built an entire season around her making her win feel less deserved. If they made it less obvious I think her win would have been more triunphant
Jaida was the first queen I rooted for from the beginning that won and the emotions I felt watching her take the crown was amazing

Yes, It was Stars and stripes, not Red White and blue. On season 11 Nina West wore something similar on the sequins on the runway (snatch Game episode) and people said It was "awful". Gigi was more original with it looking more like a bodysuit, but Nina did use the right color
“I remembered that I was wearing a cardigan,” was so iconic in snatch game. Jackie literally deserved to win that
suggestion for the series: at the end give a summary of how many wins and bottoms all the queens would have in the unrigged version. For example, here Shitty would have had 1 win, and 3,4 or even 5 bottom 2 placements!

I think the makeover episode was always going to be a double shantay - the fans were there for the 'ultimate drag race experience' and I think having to see your partner lose a lipsync would be a bit of a damper on the whole thing. Heidi clearly won the lipsync, but they had to justify the double shantay, hence saying that Jackie's performance was really funny.
The double shantay should have been with widow and Jackie’s not Jackie and Heidi

It’s gotten to the point that you can tell which queens are front runners by how they are never put in the bottom when they are obviously underperforming in challenges. I think they also cast more filler queens as well.

I think the re-editing of the season fucked it so bad. Cause allegedly sherry and Gigi had a rivalry, which explains the constant favoritism. It was for a story we never saw
And from what I've heard, SP was supposed to get a hero edit and Gigi a villain edit, hilariously enough. Having to almost completely cut out their "hero" leaves the would-be "villain" with a very muddled edit and explains a lot of the mixed feelings about Gigi.

I think Widow got robbed the most this season. She's such a great queen but she doesn't get much attention from the producer
low key i think the sherry pie mess kind of saved season 12. it made the show drop most of the storylines it had planned and as a result it came across as less overproduced than the previous seasons
To me, ever since the show was recognized as fashion forward, especially with the MET Gala, queens who can output fashionable looks go much further into the competition than other queens, like Gigi or Gotmik
I wonder what a season would look like if they based their decisions off of actual performance and integrity...honestly. I think they a big reason Jinx’s season was so satisfying was because she actually deserved to win.

I’m still mad Widow went home when she did. But I just saw her perform this weekend in Kansas City, and I can say she is still thriving. Hopefully we will see her on All Stars 7!

I agree with Jaida’s win for the makeover, because her makeup was so beyond perfection and she made her outfits (all of them), even tho I wanted Crystal to win, if I was being fair I would have still given it to Jaida.

Thank you for calling out the favoritism of Aiden since her fans are too busy being bullying hypocrites to own the truth!!!!! Aiden got favored on stuff that have gotten queens in the bottom or eliminated in the past (same wig/pussycat wig, halfassed ball outfit, not setting up her game) and she twisted the narrative by saying the girls were judging her for being different when they just didn’t like how lazy she was being and not owning what she did wrong.
Gigi Goode was the moment on the runway but honestly the "stars & stripes" was awful, the Michelle was basic and the buttons no bows was disappointing. The edit helped a lot. I still remember my reaction to some Jan's looks being way better.

Here’s a theory they made the top 2 in episode one and two because they wanted to see Gigi lip sync to know if she can lip sync and to see if they could put her in the bottom once or twice which she couldn’t lip sync so they kept on saving her

Her lip sync honestly wasn’t that bad. It was more comedic. It wasn’t high energy like widows but it was decent. Widow 100 percent won that lip sync tho.

@@bencepeszmeg4997 gigis looks were polished but none were original looks if you get me they were all essentially based off a reference the capes look was the look from troop Beverly hills, her purple was just Daphne, her frozen look was an ice cream girl (you can not tell me that was not a costume). The only original looks i got from gigi was the bows and buttons- even though she missed the bows part.

Watching s13 the favoritism of certain queens is still there and I believe that production should judge the queens more fairly, because the "fans" send hate to the the pushed queens when they have no control over the judging. This happened in season 10 (eureka), 11(silky), 12(gigi) and now 13 (kandy).

I really feel like they threw Jan under the bus the whole season and I don’t get why. Maybe she was too polished and they thought fans would be bored by that... She was in the top or safe the whole season and then eliminated (rightfully so even though she’s my favorite queen EVER).
maybe im biased bc crystal is my all time fave queen but she definitely knew what she had to do to make it to the top. she picked up on what ru loved abt her like her mullet and was able to incorporate it into her droop commercial and choices 2020. i mean at least she did listened to the advice she was given. anyways i think she definitely deserved her high placement in the competition because she was so smart! you rlly spilled in this video

The reason Jan didn’t win the Madonna Musical has been discussed - she was wearing flats! Gigi did a backflip in heels.
But Jan embodied both Madonna and Michelle. Madonna is not known for doing back flips. And out of all the queens, the choreography was in Gigi's favor. And Jan had every little detail down to the tee with her runway look. Like the person said in the video, if any other queen came out in a basic bikini, they would've been in the bottom. But since it's a skinny white queen, they get praise for it.
I don’t think anyone is saying Gigi didn’t do great cause she did. I’m not even a Jan Stan I think she was a bit over rated too, But it’s kind of not fair when they pick and choose when the runway matters for queens they want to push through. Jan was the best runway and she was as good as Gigi was in the challenge, flats or not. Gigi’s look was disgraceful.
The reason for giving Gigi the win is because her runway (despite being a simple bikini) is thinking outside the box. The judges didn't see it coming that someone would wear a Michelle Visage outfit when she was part of a girl group. Also they said that Gigi embodied Madonna more as compared with Jan. But I still think that Jan should've win as well. It could've been a double win. Or they could've give it to Jan. But I guess they wanted to give Jan a rudemption when she's competing for All Stars 6.

I don't think that Gigi was SO MUCH benefited from production as you say in the video, and that is because Sherry Pie was getting the exact treatment from production. The only difference between them is that at the time of airing, we already knew that Sherry Pie was disqualified and even got cut from the final editing in some episodes.
I think that fans were pissed because there was no competition until Jaida won her second challenge, and not because of Gigi getting so much praise.
Think about it, Sherry Pie already won 2 challenges and one top2 by episode 5. And at all time we knew that she couldn't win, so the only one frontrunner left was Gigi.
Jaida's win was totally deserved, but I think that Gigi's not winning was not because the fanbase was sick of her. Look at the numbers, Gigi has double the instagram followers than Jaida.
I also found very interesting how in the debate episode the 2 girls with the “different” runway looks (with a deep, important and serious meaning) ended up in the bottom 🤨 their messages were powerful and actually raised awareness, unlike Sh*rry’s look which was literally disgusting and horrible. I’m still confused to this day why sh*tty pie won the worlds worst challenge. Not only from a judging standpoint should heidi have won, but it would make more sense for Heidi to win from a storyline standpoint. The main plot of the episode was the winners of the last episodes ranking the other queens and they made a big thing of heidi being placed in the bottom by jaida. So if Heidi won the challenge wouldn’t that make a lot of sense to wrap up the episodes story? Just a thought I had

So, looking back at this season, it makes total sense. Gigi and Sh*rry were set up to win, yet Jaida ended up winning all the marbles. I wish Rock M. had stayed longer and Aiden gone home sooner, and I do believe that the double shantay should have been between Widow and Jan

Unpopular opinion I guess, but as a Madonna stan of 36 years, I believe Gigi deserved the Rusical win. She gave me the Madonna feels. And my 2nd fave was Jaida. Jan was my 3rd favorite, the best only if judging purely on vocals.
