    12:41 mam forgot to multiply 2 into denominator but answer is correct because L×0=0
    and 2L×0=0.
    mam is great and best.

    This is Important:
    Ma'am, the expression for Ψ you've written for particle in a symmetric 1-D box is applicable when the boundary of the box is from "x = - (l/2)" to "x = + (l/2)". Your boundary is from "x = - l" to "x = +l". Also the energy for particle in a box is invariant of it being symmetrical or unsymmetrical (it only depends on the box's length). Hence, both should have the same expression which is E = (n^2 h^2)/(8 m (l^2)).

      yes...you are right.
      i have done a practical releted to 1D box...in that practical , I have to calculate the energy difference between HOMO and LUMO by taking spectra of a organic dye which have pi bonds in conjunction and this pi system is equivalent to particle in a box model.
      whats the coordinate we will take, energy gap will come out same.

      compare this asymmetric box with symmetric box.
      take the symmetric box and increase its lenght just equal to L along negative x axis....now what is the total lenght of the box?
      answer is 2L and the system becomes symmetric.
      now put this value of lenght into energy equation of 1D box.
      it will 4L^2 and then 4 * 8 = 32.
      Thats why...here 32 in denominator.
      Clearly...you can see that energy of any state is inversely proportional to lenght square. Here, we increased the lenght 2 times so the energy level is decreased by 4 times. Thats what given in energy equation here.

    Madam initially you have written value of Psi for odd where 2 is written in the denominator but during solving for states who have omitted 2. from denomi- nator.

      According to the eligibility criteria notified by the IIT,for getting a masters degree in chemistry,You need to have mathematics as a subject till +2
      And as far as DU is concerned.. It is mandatory to have mathematics in at least 2 semesters in Bsc.
