  • On 25.10.2023 Kitekraft successfully conducted its first grid-connected flight. Even though it was not the priority of this test and low wind conditions prevailed, small amounts of energy were generated and fed into the German power grid.

    Kitekraft develops flying wind energy systems. This approach allows to harvest energy from the wind more efficiently compared to conventional wind turbines, because only 10% of the materials are required for the same nominal power.     It would be interesting, if you could insert a power meter in a corner of the video in order to see in which flight phases power is generated or consumed. Why do you cruise in this laying 8 shape? Isn't it enough to bring the kite in down wind position just changing the hight and position relatively to the container to optimize the energy harvesting?

    Darf man fragen, ob auch ins Netz eingespeist wurde?
    Im Video sieht es so aus, als würde an einem komplett windstillen Tag geflogen und die Propeller durch das Stromnetz versorgt statt in selbiges einspeisend.
    Durchhängendes Kabel sieht nach Windstille aus.
    Wie gut funktioniert die Landung bei Wind?
