The CV90 is by far the best IFV we have in europe especially regarding its cost/ effectiveness ratio. It should be standardised in most european armies to improve interoperability.
I hope the UK government sees sense and purchases the CV90 instead of Ajax, having been already heavily invested in Ajax shouldn't mean we go ahead and use it for our troops if it's no good, we should always get the best vehicles for our troops.
@@NoOne-ol6dw a number of troops tried the Ajax and luckily they didn't have to fight when they exited the Ajax because their joints were painful and they had other symptoms that would of seen them unfit for duty and they were only driving the vehicle at about half speed, it's got some major problems that need fixing before it'd be fit for use. don't get me wrong though, i just want what's best for the troops.

@@Merecir Your point is nonsense. Slovakia has a defense budget of around 2 billion dollars. They don't have the money nor the knowledge or industry to develop a new infantry fighting vehicle. Currently the CV90 is one of the best, but it's a development from the 80's

All Swedish weapons are covered by lots of secrecy contracts. It was part of the deal when these were transferred to Ukraine, and the Ukranians seems to live up to their end of the bargain, wich is a good thing. If you search for cv90 or Archer on youtube, almost everything you see is the same stock footage repeated over and over again, even from before the war. This is not because of lack of public interest but because the militaries that operate these weapons have an interest to keep the publicly avaliable information at a minimum.

Well Sweden is about to send 50 CV90 to Ukraine. I have no clue what version it is, and what capabilities they have. So depending on how good the crew are and what features is supplied we can soon know if the system is good or hyped. A bad crew can fuck up even the best system, and a really good crew can make wounders with a poor system.

I think they are referring to the detection radars of the Iron Fist APS "It senses incoming threats via a fixed active electronically scanned array radar sensor developed by RADA Electronic Industries and an optional passive infrared detector developed by Elbit's Elisra." Other than that, CV90 Lvkv has a huge radar. Since late 90's I think
Lvkv since the 90's , but that's a dedicated AA asset to cover Leopard tanks , this is not as good as that which has a proper radar to engage all low flying threats

Best platform for majority of strategic areas. I strongly prefer the CV90 before any other IFV.

CV90 vs Lynx vs AS21 vs ASCOD , this will be interesting.
This and the ability to quickly launch and control drones is gonna be key for futureproofing the system.

CV90 performed excellently in Afghanistan, turned hundreds of Taliban fighters into mincemeat.
