A spirited composition rendered with elegance and captivating improvisations. The ensemble has a stellar cast with the great Trichy Sankaran (mridangam), Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi (carnatic violin) and Giridhar Udupa (ghatam).

More about the Artist:
The Malladi Brothers (Sreeramprasad and Ravikumar) sing Carnatic vocal music together. They hail from an illustrious Andhra Pradesh musical family, training under their grandfather Srirammurthy and father Suri Babu, as well as Nedunuri Krishnamurthy and Sripada Pinakapani. Their style of singing blends a deep approach to composition with extended forays into improvisation, covering rare ragas and commanding stages around the world

Sālaga Bhairavi is a shadava-sampoorna Janya Rāga of Karaharapriya (Hindustani - Kāfi) with S R2 M1 P D2 Ṡ as ārōhaṇam and Ṡ N2 D2 P M1 G2 R2 S as avarōhaṇam. When you sing the same notes from R2 to R2, it becomes another beautiful raga, Dhanyāsi, making it a Grihabheda. Do Hindustani Musicians use Grihabheda in their performances like Carnatic musicians to?
Grihabheda is a relatively unknown concept in Hindustani, but is such a beautiful one, seeing that music is made everywhere. I know that Guru Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty has tried to introduce Grihabheda in his performances, but not to the extent of most Carnatic musicians.
