In 1994 I was working as a nurse. I left before midnight to drive home on Rte. 2, a busy highway that connects Boston to my home in Concord and points west. It was the evening of the anniversary of the Battle of Concord. Where Rte. 26 intersects Rte. 2, I saw 7 ghosts. They were colonial soldiers, the Minutemen, complete with their muskets and gear. They walked right through the fog. That intersecting road was a lane in 1775, the same lane the Minutemen took. I was completely sober, thinking only about relaxing at home. It wasn't frightening, but it was vivid.

The last story reminded me of when I visited Tennessee with a church group many years ago. The forests there are covered in kudzu vines, which were imported from Japan a long time ago. Without a harsh winter to keep them in check, they thrive TOO much, overwhelming entire forests and killing trees by cutting off the sunlight. But if you walk into one of these places, you'll find these magical looking groves with curtains of green on all sides, and a little sunlight filtering through the leaves. You feel isolated from the outside world. I never thought about fairies much at all back then, but now I think these would be ideal places for them, and I wonder if anyone down south has had any fairy encounters in the kudzu forests.

I have extended family in lower Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. When my grandma was still alive every third weekend in August we'd take her to the 'Decoration,' kind of like a 'family reunion,' but we'd go to church on Sunday to pay our respects and 'decorate' the graves. I was married, and we had 3 kids under 12. My brother came one year, and we were amazed at the Kudzu! Very honey stuff that was imported from Japan (I believe?) to help with rock fall and landslides in the mountains. They call it 'The Plant that Ate Virginia,' and fwo weeks of the year they were covered in the sweetest smelling flowers. We were told it could grow up to a foot a day - so much you could almost see it happening right before your eyes! We convinced my brother (early 20s) to weave himself into the Kudzu for a picture, which he managed to do, but the longer he was in it the sun seemed to disappear, it grew a tad cooler, and soon enough he was almost panicked, saying it was pinching and burning him, and while we laughed he was NOT amused, and we quickly saw welts all over his exposed skin. When my great aunts and grandma saw him they scolded us and told us the next day we must take some candy back to that place and apologize. We kinda laughed, but that night it was super hot, and while there was no AC we had fans in the windows, which refused to work more than a few minutes at a time. My brother kept waking from terrible nightmares all night, and we got very little sleep. In the morning after hearing this the aunts looked at each other and said, 'If you know what's good for you then you WILL take sweets and apologize!' We said we would, but didn't really plan on it, but all day weird stuff kept happening, mostly to my brother. On our way out of town he insisted we stop, grabbed candy, and backtracked a bit to leave it and apologize. We had no more issues, and we NEVER messed with the Kudzu again!!

There is an oral history of “little people” in much of the south. I think especially The Appalachian areas. I once watched a lecture on RUclips by a woman who worked on a university campus and alleged that there were tiny, humanoid skeletons found in an extensive network of tunnels running under the campus. The bodies are supposedly secured on campus. Maybe University of North Carolina. Wish I could recall for sure. Many Scots Irish settles those areas and brought the belief in little people or fairies with them.

I used to live in Tennessee just outside of Nashville. An ex boyfriend and mine had a very strange experience with the fae. We were walking in the woods and got tired so started walking back towards the car. The energy shifted and got very quiet. The animals got quiet and we saw a huge bat in the middle of the day fly out of no where. Then I heard music. I looked up to some trees and I saw a beautiful woman staring at me. She had a few other “people” wit her. She seemed to glow, she was wearing a long whitish-light blue dress and had blond hair that was almost white. The men with her looked like soldiers or smth and they were shining too. They had chest plates on like silver armor. And she seemed to be their queen or smth. And I heard music, like faerie music and she was singing but more like a hum. It was so beautiful. My boyfriend wasn’t as psychic as me and he seemed to have walked a little up on the path and he just stood there waiting for me. I looked at him & I looked up to them and I wanted to go with them. But I knew I couldn’t and as soon as I walked away. They disappeared & the forest came back to life. I asked him what he saw and he saw more signs from the animals. He didn’t see the fae or hear the beautiful faerie music.

I experienced in Europe (I am European) me and my fam when walking on a mountain, in the middle of nowhere on the line between Swiss and Italy we walked on a path, when 2 man saw us inside the Woods and we saw them. But we walked on the main road. and they followed us, they run and hid and squached behind trees, following us, in a high pace all the way down to the village. We got scared and holded sticks of branches. The 2 strange behaviour man still followed us when we ran. So we ran harder. But still ready to upfront.. Eventually after this scary encounter we finally came at our village and than reaching our car. When we drove away, we came across a bus stop at the village and 1 of the man, we all recognised, was 1 of the man. He could not have been that fast. Still no idea what this was all about.

Some of these sound like people just crossing boundaries unaware and/or were unprepared. I like that more people are cognizant of the Fae now at days. Our generation is slowly circling back to relearning and rekindling our active relationship with the otherworld.
The story about the strawberry blonde or reddish haired woman remind me of stories that usually portray people being warned by red heads. At least when in close proximity with fae territory. Interesting stuff though....

I love these real life encounter stories.
If what has been happening at some places where probable portals between this realm/reality and the Fae realm/reality are located such as Skinwalker ranch is any inkling the Fae will not give up their secrets easily and they will hurt you or worse if you poke to much. Just watch the show with the same name and the terrifying experiences they have gotten there. At some point they will have to decide that there are places on this Earth where humans are not wanted nor allowed period.

I can relate to pissing off higher powers, not like these tho. It's a humbling experience, we're just humans, trying to live a proper life. There's good and evil forces out there. By birth (not choice) I'm a empath, intuitive. I have a small amount of knowledge, experienced things just living day to day life. I never venture out looking for stuff, no thank you!🙏🙌🙏♥️🇨🇦

You have a very pleasant and good-to-listen to voice. Is there a reason you don't name the authors of the stories sent to you and maybe, do the writers say if it is meant as fiction or real? I mean, anyone can claim stuff to be real ( or to a different audience that it is fiction, if you don't want to be classified as insane) ... but, I think it would add if you said: this was sent by ... from ... .
