You have changed my entire perspective on fitness and general health. Been following your advice since a few months now, definitely seeing concrete results of just pure consistency. Thank You
Ohh man! Thank you! SO happy you have enjoyed the content. I appreciate the kind words and support.
Do biceps next!
Ring curls, chin-up variations (close-grip, hammer (for forearm), weighted), pelican curls.
I think Alex Leonidas has vids for bodybuilding with calisthenics.
Just buy dumbells
Kboges would likely say that if you do pullups 3 times a week and want to emphasize on biceps that you do chinups 2 of your pullup sessions and pullups once. He doesn't do isolation work he often said, so he'd incorporate it in a compound movement, like the chin up. Its also good to note that the chinup is often described to be one of the best excercises to do for your biceps in terms of muscle activation.
This.
My suggestion would first be to get really good at pull ups and chin ups. If it's not enough growth, you can throw in some isolation. But I think most people will have a really well developed pair of biceps if they get beastly at vertical pulls.
I think you probably underestimate just how much you inspire us lot commenting below the line. Your emphasis on longevity and a mentally sound pursuit of fitness is unmatched. Thank you so much for what you've done for me and others. I'm still working on making training more fun but I'll get there. Cheers K.
PS - any advice for chest development with press ups? Wide grip has never felt great to me.
For chest I'd highly suggest you to try having your hands a little outwards of your shoulder (going wide puts unnecessary stress on your shoulder joints) and make sure to keep your chest even to your hands, never lean in front which will shift the training to your front delts, always keep your chest even to your hand placement, make sure to touch the floor with your chest and go all the way up and squeeze your chest at top, hope it'll help you ^_^.
@@Gamerda69 Thanks for the advice man. Maybe I was going to too far. Sounds a little similar to the position I'm in when doing them on my knuckles. Have a good one.
@@Eleutherarch Most welcome and hope you'll get great chest gains haha, have a good day !
elevated push ups or to put it simply , do deep push ups while your hands are on something like parallets or something like ring push ups
The best thing I ever started doing (stolen from this channel lol) was hands up about 1-1.5 inches off the floor on blocks. Then to make that harder elevate the feet. The stretch is key for really getting the pec stimulated. Going slow and controlled too. If you just fly through the reps it just burns the front delts more
I've only been incorporating your workout philosophy for a few weeks now. I'm going 5 days a week with Fri being the total failure day since I have 2 days off to recover. I'm trying to break myself in when it comes to HFT. I alternate between 2 different workouts switching them between days, one set each exercise until my ability to recover reaches the point I can add more volume. I'm 68 and expect it to take time to adapt so I'm in no rush. Maybe after a month I can add another set. I had problems with CG push ups hurting my wrists and just moved them out a little wider ... but still within shoulder width so I'm pleased you confirmed this is just fine. I can definitely feel them working. I've also noticed I'm much weaker on CG Push Ups than I am in regular Push Ups and closing the gap is a nice little goal to shoot for. Thank you for your advice. Excellent channel!
Being 6'7, diamond push-ups have always been hard on my wrists. This narrow grip single parallette push up is much more effective/comfortable for me.
Thanks again for sharing
Same here! Also 6'7"...!!!
6'6 same
Yeah this is a solid variation! Enjoy!
But also don’t be afraid to get better reps by being close inside with closer grip not too close but if you go slower and control the movement I would say rather than going too far out and going faster your trying to build muscle overall
I’m definitely going to adopt that single parallette push up!
One of my favorites! I hope you enjoy!
Using the parallets really took out the strain - no tennis elbow after this one AND a sizable pump in the triceps. You guys see what K Boges is putting out, this is the zero bullshit approach. Much energy to everyone here.
Exactly! It's such a good variation. Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you, brother! 🙏
That single parallette variation feels really good.
It really does. One of my all-time favorites.
I love keeping things simple in life. I never thought fitness could be so simple either.
Yes! Fitness does not need to be complicated. it just needs to be consistent.
I stopped doing diamond push-ups due to wrist pain, but looking forward to giving them another go now using parallettes thanks! Also a good exercise to easily progressively overload using bands. Yours and Tao Physiques channels are the only calisthenics youtubers I bother watching now as you're both head and shoulders above the rest.
Oh man I hope these treat you well. I bet you are gonna like them.
Thank you for the kind words and support, brother. Much appreciated.
he’s gotta be psychic, each video he drops is exactly what i’m looking for at that exact moment. thank you for your videos
Hahaha we were on the same frequency!
Dude I love your channel. So simple. Perfect explanations and demonstration.
Thank you! I appreciate that very much!🙏
Back in the day, I was always a little worried taking time off from gym to allow my joints/ tendons to heal/ recover/ damn if I didn't give this a try and honestly, didn't miss a step with my strength --- proving ONCE AGAIN, this free information is actually priceless..
Thanks K boges! Looking swole!
Thank you brother! Great hearing from you!🙏
Great video as always, thanks Kyle for spreading both empirical and scientific knowledge.
Thank you for watching! I appreciate the kind words and the support.
Such a gold mine of a channel. Inspired by you I’ve been doing BW squats/pullups/pushups 5x a week at a moderate intensity and just adding one set to my total set week over week, I’m nearly up to doing 5 sets of each of those 5 days a week, which may not sound like a lot, but tho at cumulative volume adds up and I feel like I’ve made good gains
Dude well done! I love simple approaches to training. Just be systematic with it, stay consistent, and it will continue to pay off. Keep me posted on how it goes and never hesitate to shoot me an email if you ever have any questions.
@@Kboges thanks bro, always appreciate you
love your videos boges, u explain very thorough
Thanks,Dex!
as always, I love how simple you make everything! Been following you for ages and I recently introduced your channel to my mum, since she's expressed an interest in building up some basic strength. it's so easy to get overwhelmed with information about fitness, and she, like me, was a huge fan of the way you break everything down into really basic movements. she's had long term problems with sciatica and ufortunately squats seem to irritate her sciatic nerve, but she's started doing some regressions of pushups, and also hanging from a set of rings frequently.
you're a huge inspiration man! would love your perspective on beginning training as an older person, how to build up from no experiance and work through some of those chronic issues that sometimes arise with age.
keep up the great content!
Thanks for the support over the years and so happy to hear you got your mom into training! If she can't squat pain free, maybe she can play with other movement like low step ups, wall sits, high box seats etc. There is probably something she can find or modify to work for her.
Yeah I have trained a TON of older folks. I generally have them start with way less that they think they need and very slowly expand their capability. A bit part is only working through ROM that they feel comfortable with ad with movements they can control and present a low injury risk. Everything is about making it sustainable, so that means starting out in a way that allows for consistency and enjoyment. It's not about pushing someone to the limit, but giving them an opportunity to build up through a consistent practice.
For me the best Tricep builders are Dips and One arm push-ups (Full ROM)
I’m with you on dips, for sure. Personally, I like these better than one arm push ups because the tighter joint angle at the elbow almost guaranteed a greater emphasis on the elbows in terms of proportional contribution.
@@Kboges
Mr Kboges, I am again starting a plateu and i dont want to end in it again, I am during your pull-ups program but for the last 2 weeks i got almost zero progres and some regres. I do everything short or to failure, I don't want to change things AGAIN, I am a little ill for the past 2 weeks (some coughing). What would you suggest? lowering the intesity? maybe train 2 reps short of failure? get a rest week? I dont want to make a decision because i am scared to get again into a plateu. Please suggest me something. (17yo). Sorry for my english.

Makes total sense. Never thought to use just on bar for narrow grip and since I hate triangle reps (wrists) nowI have a new movement to miix it up! Thanks and rock on!
Enjoy!
diamond push ups is one of my favourite push ups!
Totally. So good for tris!
Works very well with 2 dumbbells kept close together as well in case you don't have paralleletes
Thank you very much for your work, Kyle
Thank you so much for watching, Juan!
One big 5(ish) sets of tricep pushup ladder and we done! Working out every day can be made easy, simple and sustainable.
That will do the trick!💪💪
Thank you boss. Straight to the point
Glad you enjoyed!
love your videos B! and your way of training (i ve been adopting it and feels great and i thiink i look great lol)
could you do a video on meals/food maybe? do you take anything fancy? like royal jelly or black maca ?
Awesome, Juan! I’m glad you enjoy! It’s a great way to train and my personal favorite. Keep at it, brother!
Great video as usual. God bless!
Thank you, Lucas. You as well my brother!
Love how he goes straight into the subject 💪
Thank! I try to keep it brief and to the point. 🙏
Couch dips and bodyweight skullcrushers are insane for triceps, you can feel activation of a muscle and burn after

A big thanks to you for helping me building just enough of a routine that I can enjoy doing on a daily basis ! I got much stronger and my yoga practice is so much more in control !
Thank you for sharing! I'm glad to hear your yoga practice is stronger!
Yes this was much needed
Glad to deliver! Thank you for watching!
Great technique! I love the diamond pushup. I had a phase where I used it as my main pushing exercise. Now a days I prefer to include ring skull crushers for triceps and elbow conditioning.
Oooh that’s a good combo! Ring SC’s are nasty!
Amazing variations for max stretch and hyperthrophy
For a 35-year-old person with a family, kids, and a job, would you approve of a full-body workout with 2 sets of pull-ups, 2 sets of push-ups, and 2 sets of squats? And a keto diet with 2 meals a day. I want to make this a lifestyle for the next 20-30 years of my life. The only thing I’m unsure of is how many repetitions to do in each set. I’d be very grateful if you could give some advice.
So that set up is almost EXACTLY what I used (and I’m in the same boat as you). It works really well for me. A lot of this stuff isn’t so much about whether the tools you pick are effective or not, but more about whether or not they are good picks for you. What you described would be an extremely effective lifestyle but ONLY if it is a good match for you and sustainable.
In terms of reps per set, a few reps shy of failure is a good bet for great stimulus and excellent fatigue management.
The workout is fine(depends on the reps) but the keto diet isn't a good idea, ur diet should be balanced(it should have protein, carbs, fat)
@@bigking2743keto diet consists only fat and protein and you actually get only the opposite of benefit from carbs, you obviously need to try it...
@@bigking2743 The keto works well for many people -- he just needs to find out if he's one of them. A couple of months on each diet, with nothing else changed, would be a useful experiment.
I don't like starchy carbs I mostly rely on fruits@@bigking2743
I was just doing these today!! I usually do them as a super set with chest flies. I used to make the mistake of putting me hands too close to each other. The added and unnecessary stress on my shoulders was dumb in hindsight.
Thanks for being the opposite of everything thats wrong in the fitness world at the moment. The young guys at my gym idolize Sam Sulek and CBum... .. shmmmm
Heck yeah, Steven! These are amazing. Yeah, I'm with you on the problems with a grip that is too narrow. Widen it out a bit; it's no biggie.
Thank you for watching, brother. I appreciate the kind words 🙏
Great advice!, I'd love to hear your thoughts on Sphinx push-ups!?
Ohh yeah legit triceps isolation exercise.
2 months ago, diamond pushups felt impossible to do for me. Meanwhile I have been doing pushups everyday in my workout, today I tried diamond pushups and suddenly found out I can do them easily. Effort paid off and I didn't even realize🎉
YES! That is a PERFECT example of how you do not need to be training at your limits to build strength. You will gain access to other harder variations by getting good at movement within your capacity.
I'm here since you started your channel back in 2020. Currently, I don't have the time to train as I had before and next year I would be 30 so you understand the time constraints. So I just do 15-30 minutes of daily training sessions to maintain my strength and my health. Your philosophy has changed how I view training. Thank you for what you're doing! 🙏 ❤️
Thank you for the long time support! 🙏Dude I feel you on that 100%. Some days I have to keep it under 20 min but it all adds up!
Today's push day. Going to try these today! Also, Mr. Boges, what is your training like nowadays? I've been following since you shared your 30 days of training, and was wondering if you still do about 21 hard sets per week or have things changed? Thank you, as always, for sharing your expertise.
Enjoy these!
Yeah still do around 3 hard sets per day. I will change things up from time to time, some training blocks doing more volume with sets further from failure, and occasionally fewer sets taken closer to failure. I will sometimes have a fixed rep target but usually 3 hard-ish sets works really well for me.
Thank you for the support over the years, Mike! Always great seeing you in the community as well!
Could you make a video sharing your thoughts on people who talk about partial range of motion push ups (such as the 'shorties' used for prison guys) and how they argue them being superior for chest development to full range of motion? Thanks!
Just saw something about that today 😅
ruclips.net/video/63cr2OvCeHM/видео.html
I think partials can be very useful and potentially superior in some contexts, but in compound movements, I think full ROM should be a "standard' approach.
Great content as usual, and the weight gain again noticeable in the arms/shoulders. GG
Thanks man! Yeah I was talking to my wife about leaning out today but I might just stay at this heavier BW.
Hey K, you should be making also beard-tutorials, your beard looks well trained as well!
Hahaha thanks man! Not sure I could be super helpful there; definitely not my expertise but I will give it some thought!
You get some squat wedges. I use them to make my push-ups less aggressive on my worst when I need it and it’s awesome! Also as someone who works their wrists and hands a lot sometimes I push it and do my push-ups with extreme wrist range of motion to make it even more aggressive on the wrists. It’s also awesome!
Both very good ideas! Thanks for sharing. 💪💪
@@Kboges Thanks brother!

Thank you, my brother. I appreciate that very much. 🙏 best to you and yours!
You are my favourite person. Knowledge you provide in such a short video is remarkable.
Please also keep sharing your existing workouts - reps and sets.
Thanks
Thanks, brother!
I don't have a set/rep prescription. I cycle through a coupe variations, hit usually 3 sets per movement, and train them a few reps shy of failure.
Diamond push ups superset with close grip supinated ring rows is one of my favorites. Sick pump for the arms too
That’s an awesome combo!
short and concise. nice
Thanks for watching!🙏
Another amazing video! And something I’ve been thinking about recently lol.
Haha that’s rad! Yeah I love this variation. It smoked the triceps.
thanks man! Diamonds have indeed always felt awkward and I definitely stopped my reps earlier than the arms could handle millions of times because the wrists were screaming.
Ah yeah I’m right there with you on that. Dude five these a shot. I bet you will love them. They are kind of a perfect exercise in my opinion.
Love this ❤ thank you
Glad you liked, Nani! Thanks for watching!
Can you do a video detailing your monthly routine and also specify your volume for maintenance and volume for gaining strength and muscle.. it would be nice to have a rough estimate to aim for😅.. and also maybe how to train for power and speed would also be appreciated.
Ps.. your videos really helped me with my journey and attitude towards fitness and health, thanks a lot sir
Great vid. I definitely feel the strain on my wrists these days with diamond push ups. Highly recommend the parallettes for push ups, feels like you can engage more muscles. Thanks Coach!
You will really like these I bet! Enjoy!
Great vids mate, btw what do you do for a living?
I’m a personal trainer. RUclips isn’t monetized so none of my income comes from RUclips.

Hahahahaha I wish I had one. Just been letting it grow with an occasional shaping trim
Thank you so much for the inspiration, will definitely try to incorporate these into my next workout.

Homegrown, organic triceps 💀
Hahaha yep😂
Much better than takeaway triceps
Diamond push ups really gave me soreness across the wrists. Nice solution with the parallettes to it. On a side note, the beard is looking great Kyle! Thanks for the vid!
I hope you enjoy these! I also get sore wrists from diamonds but these fix it for me.
Thanks, brother!
Y'all never forget that each one of us has different body and you should experiment & find which hand placement works the best for you in pushups whether you're gonna target your chest or triceps.
Yep! 100% correct.
Nice balance between philosophy and technique videos 👌
Thank you!
Always nice to see another of your videos Kyle, great work as always. Plus idk if its just me but you seem to more muscular, so gz on your progress & consistency.
Thanks! Yeah I have gained weight this last year. I'm not as lean as I was in my earlier videos, but I've been hoping the extra BW translates into bigger muscles. 😂
@@Kboges Hahaha, well my guess is between that or a broken scale 🤣
2:29 I imagine it's lighter resistance and you can get more reps and a pump in with your front elevated.
Exactly. It’s actually really nice.
This was GREAT. I have very broad shoulders and so getting my hands into a diamond always put painful torque into my wrists that I knew would injure me. Dankeshoen.
Ahh yes this will be a good option. Gern geschehen!
I would also do ring tricep extensions to target that long head more effective
Yeah that’s a great way to go.
love to watch your exercises in normal playback speed, to get a grip on the different cadences you use.
Yeah! I love to play with tempo.. sometimes slow, sometimes fast, sometimes a combo, sometimes paused... tempo is a cool variable to change up from time to time.
right after my push day too LETS GOOO
LETS GO!
Diamond press ups and dips help mine.. I find it difficult to isolate my tris but calisthenic movements deffo target them the best!
Yeah dips are top tier for tris, just can be rough on the shoulders.
Cool stuff as always, been wondering where to go with the diamond so will give this a go. Don't have a paralette but I reckon I can bring my push up grips together for a similar effect.
Yeah you should be good bringing them together. If you get parallettes in the future, try this one.
Thank you
My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Wow never though about this approach - amazing progression idea!
I feel like I stagnated a bit doing 3/4 sets of 15-20 diamond pushups.
Always thought that it was awkward to do regular diamonds with a weight vest (too little RoM imo especially with a bulkier vest) or just elevating legs like for pike pushups (head gets in the way as you said)😂
You will probably really like this! Give it a shot and let me know what you think.
thank you very much.
It's my pleasure! Thank you for watching!
Just by looking at you I just know you are natty. Thanks for being one of the *very few* real ones.
Yes lifetime natty and plan on being so until the end. The only way I would use drugs is if it was somehow going to improve my life expectancy or quality of life. Like if I was 75, got into an accident, lost a ton of muscle and strength, and doing some steroids could help me regain my quality of life so that I could spend more time with my wife and kids, I'm in. Otherwise, I have 0 interest in anything that is going to rob me of potential time with them. I see the tradeoff, especially for young men, as being an exceptionally terrible one. The future will be here one day, and I don't want to pay the price then just so I can be more jacked now, for no reason.
Curious to see if you'd make a video on isolation movements like ring bicep curls, pyke/HS push ups, face pulls, and so on. Great video, as always!
Potentially. I've thought about it, I'm just such a compound movement fan for their efficiency.
@@Kboges totally agreed, but your fitness advice is always valuable. Thanks for replying

the comment section is also good because of the answers.
Yeah I try to get to everyone but as the channel has grown it has become harder. I still give it a solid shot though.
Tricep extensions (on rings or a racked barbell) give me a crazy horseshoe pump with such a deep stretch at the end of the eccentric. They are difficult and the form can be tricky to learn initially though.
Yeah that’s a top tier tricep exercise no doubt.
Love the diamond push up! How about the bar bodyweight tricep extension?
That bar triceps ext is a very solid isolation movement.
Awesome vid. I'd love to a similar video for biceps
Noted! Thank you for watching!
I try the diamond push ups and a close grip push ups and must say that close grip done much more profit for me most becouse Full range of moiton and less wrist overload other than that I ve done push ups on my fists with below the strenum position, so its multiple variants but choose wisely becouse it can damage Your wrists if not done it proper way or with too much weight f.e. with weight west. Thanks for video stay strong stay healthy 👍💪
