Been training using a bit of a mix of the knees over toes guys stuff and your usual bro lifting for awhile now find the two compliment each other really well.
Great stuff! all things considered I guess the stretching muscle gains still rely on puting a micro tear in the muscle, to scar tissue over. And provide the growth just like resistance training but less stress less tears lesser results
Unreal video, this is what I've been saying for a while now. Keep the best lifting exercises in your program, and then work on the different areas that you DON'T work out in your stretching routine. This is why I'm not a fan of the way ATG approaches exercise. They replace the best muscle-building exercises with subpar ones focused on mobility. As a result, they don't really get that big or strong. Keeping your lifting "lifting" and keeping your stretching "stretching" is a much better way to do it.
Been lifting for 10 years or so. Been having an achey back on and off, finally decided to get checked up and turns out I have a disc protrusion… can’t say exactly what’s caused it but lifting wouldn’t be out of the question. Now I’m prioritising stretching and very light workouts. Not ideal.
I'm just a random on the internet so take what you want from my comment, but I'm a physiotherapist by trade and I just want to share a bit about the narratives about back pain because I see them all too often. The absolute majority of back pain is what we consider non-specific, meaning there's no sole cause for pain and/or discomfort. Most people experience at least one episode of it during their lifetime and some get reoccuring episode. There's no single thing that has shown to be a cause of back pain, not even heavy lifting. Heavy lifting has neither shown to be correlated with worsening of back pain, instead it has shown to have a protective part in reoccuring back pain. To add to that from about 20 years old we see disc changes (protrusions, bulges etc) in 30% of people with no back pain and this only increases with age (along with other changes an MRI can show you), so most findings in spines (and other joints) are regular ageing (like wrinkles, but on the inside). So even though MRIs can come back with findings with most people it's very hard to tell if they actually correlate with pain. Whatever the cause for back pain there's no real reason to quit things you enjoy as long as symtoms during/after are manageable and reside in a day or so. If it's a bit too sensitive for some movements during an episode you can often work around it while things calm down. I hope this doesn't come off in the wrong way and hopefully you've recieved some education of your symtoms together with examinations. I completely understand the frustration that comes with back pain, but I do hope you can get back to the things you enjoy. End of rant.
When you say building muscle what do you specifically mean though? I'm assuming you mean muscle thickness i.e. hypertrophy? Doesn't stretching still build muscle but by making the muscle longer? From a martial arts perspective for example, leg extensions help you kick harder whilst stretching helps you kick higher.
Your physique is sick. Hop on some fin and minox tho. But physique is probably one of the tightest on RUclips. Genuinely, people don't appreciate it. You're 5 11 ish, 6 foot. A lot of these guys are walking around at 5 foot 6 ripped and big but midgets you'd step on.

As you get older strength and mobility need to go hand in hand.
Yh, water is good for hydration and direct sunlight is bad for skin.
@@barbariumTVtheir comment may seem obvious but if barely anyone applies it, is it really that obvious?
You seem to drop the exact kind of video I need at that exact time, always. You're the man ✊🏾

Ashtanga vinyasa yoga combined with a three day split works for this 60 year old. Focusing on diet to reduce ‘love handles’
Are you thinking of adding stretching/mobility routines in Push?
seriously good video. Thanks

The I want to see Joey D do the JCVD split button.
Joey D, I speak for a lot of us… please make a video on a sick stretching routine for lifters with bad lower back pain 🙏
Well Done.

Gymshark T... What happened with Rise?
When I looked the title I mis-read and thought it was Nick Bare style - How to balance lifting and running.
Yo Joe D favorite techno track atm?
🔥🔥
Hey Joe, do you still do customisable programs? I play football 3x week and need something tailored towards me

Studies have shown improvements in muscle thickness and strength.
Is this audio sped up? Sounds like it
Joey D, you shouldn’t have 😊
When did he leave Rise?! 😮

Sorry mate kneesover toes guy has been posting about this for years.
Yikes! Some of those movements put a lot of pressure on knee joints.
And if you build up to them carefully, you’ll have bulletproof knee joints
Yikes! You have no idea how developing tendon strength, stiffness, joint resilience and overall mobility works!
number of times i wished i was more flexible - ZERO.
So resistance bands are embarrassing??? 😂 why am I not embarrassed when my boyfriend or anyone else sees my X-Bands 🤦🏼♀️🤪
