- The Trans Australian Railway is a key freight route connecting Western Australia with the rest of the country. The railway between Port Augusta and Tarcoola is used by Freight Trains heading to both Perth & Darwin from Adelaide and the eastern states. World-famous passenger trains "The Ghan" and the "Indian Pacific" also use the railway weekly in each direction.

03:25 - SCT Freight Service 6PM9 is lead by LDP002/LDP003 on Sunday the 25th of February 2018.
05:30 - The legendary Ghan service is lead by NR109/NR75 on the 25th of February 2018.
07:20 - The kangaroos jump across the track minutes before Pacific National Freight 6PM7 passes through just west of Wirrappa with NR107/NR20 on Sunday the 22nd of April 2018.
09:35 - A nearly 24 Hour late 6MP4 at Wirrappa S Curve with NR62/NR58 on Sunday the 22nd of April 2018. The service was late after five-pack wagon split in the middle of the train near Pinera in the Adelaide Hills 36 hours earlier.

Given The Adelaide to Darwin Freight is Mostly about Trade from South to North. I wonder How Many of those Wagons are Empty?. This of course Highlights Australia's Export Dilemma of Huge Amounts of Wasted Fuel Use.
