What a beautiful and easy install! Thank you for sharing this training!
Installers: note how important it is to leave a large enough gap between non-engineered joints for the sealant product to perform. In the old days carpenters would try to fit everything tightly, but it's just not possible to a high standard of quality in the field. So we let foams and caulks do the work. We trust the engineered shiplap edges to be tight, but at our own cut joints we leave a gap specified by the sealant manufacturer (in this case, a big one for spray foam).
Thank YOU for watching and sharing that valuable info!
Ed,
Gr8 demo.
I discovered you from your video with Matt Risinger when he features you and your "1/2 ICF-type" 😉 insulation! My last home was ICF.
Your thicker exterior closed-cell foam boards look like they may be a great match for the retirement home we are designing now in coastal NC.
On my mind is what termite tunneling mitigation you've considered.
Cheers, Eric
I first thought that this might be better than the ZIP R6 panel I was planning for the new house. Problem is that the ZIP R panel can go up with 16d nails and is my house wrap too. While your panels would probably be alot cheaper than the ZIP R, there is a ton of labor to install these panels. Plus, all the special flashings and stuff I have do around the window. I think I will stick with my staggered stud wall, ZIP R6 and closed cell foam. Since ZIP has become so common here on the coast of SC, most installers get it done correctly. New construction is probably not the best fit for your product, but a remodel might be just the thing.
Some people are complaining about hearing him speak. I simply turned on the Closed Caption (I always do because I have Tinnitus) and I understand everything. 😉
Tinnitus is no joke! Hope you're managing it well! And we thank you for the kind words! It pays to be self sufficient!
I'm building a small house, first section is a cube.. I would really like to use this product! It seems very user friendly!
We're designed to be user-friendly for builds just like yours. Give us a call at (888)-501-7899 and tell us about your project!
ICF for traditional stick frame housing, without the concrete. Interesting idea.
🤗
Nice system. Unfortunately, in my area the mostly unskilled labor would make a mess of this and would not be able to consistently do all the measurements. Where I live, this would be a great DIY option. None of the contractors I know have workers who could figure this out and get good at it.
Definitely understand where you're coming from. There is a learning curve to every new product. We hope ours is easier than most products on the market for insulating and framing/retrofits, etc..We've done some projects in the past with unskilled labor...One off the top of the mind was our Urban Homeworks New Construction project! www.insofast.com/explore/urban-homeworks-community-project.html
tHanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
My pleasure @@insofast-continuous-insulation Are there any videos showing the installation of siding over the Insofast? tHanks
We do have a few..however, we are working on making some new and improved/updated videos for you soon! But for now, ruclips.net/video/rJuNzY6rhNM/видео.html @@Dancing_Alone_wRentals
Cost? Siding options?
Costs are all on our website! You can pretty much attach any type of siding you'd like!
Is this stuff flame retardant?
Sure wish they offered it in XPS rather than EPS.
Interesting...why would you rather XPS?
Higher R-Value per inch and also better performance in the extreme cold.
XPS looses R value over time and costs more. GPS would have same R value if you can't find it in EPS
Can you repost the video without the music so we can hear what the hell you’re saying?
The music is like an adult video you can't hear the poor guy what he's saying
yikes.
PLEASE loose the music!
That’s a leak waiting to happen
Where do you see a leak ready to happen?
InSoFast panels add 3 more layers of leek protection that "standard construction" will never have! 1. it has a rainscreen front to drain away water that gets behind the siding, 2. A thick layer of shingle style flashed waterproof foam and 3. A drain plane back that protects the house wrap from damage.
