I was thinking about it, but since we already have the Undiscovered Paradise I am skeptical. Still definitely worth testing, but the next thing I'll try is Adarkar Wastes to begin with. And add Reflecting Pool number 2 as the 21st land.
I am not planning to play a removal game against Tog, I'm trying to play a tempo/value game against them. StP is a dead card in hand until my opp deplots a Tog, and they won't deploy a Tog until they have cleared the way with Duress or have countermagic up.
Not finished yet with the video, but is there any shortcut you can take that will give you at least a winning position through someone who doesn't concede online w. a chess clock?
When I was running Rishadan Cutpurse it definitely helped in that matter, since after you gain as much life as your opponent has permanents you can lock the game up by leaving them with nothing.
Hey Jon! Yeah, I got tired of needing to shell $500+ every time a new direct to Modern set gets printed in order to stay competitive, and simply got tired of WotC's bullshit, I simply don't want to give them my money anymore. Premodern encapsulates everything I have always loved about MtG and has none of the garbage that it has turned into over the past 5 or so years.
@fpawluszmtg that's actually why I quit post MH2. Got sick of dropped hundreds for a single playset of cards. I've really enjoyed your premodern content, and I was thinking of switching over.
@@jon2024 I cannot recommend it enough. The format is incredible, super skill intensive, deep and there's way more room to brew than you'd think. Also there are a ton of viable decks. You can build a gauntlet for the price of a Modern deck :P
I would never play less than 4 Wall of Roots, it's a resilient ramp creature that is just happens to be a combo piece. I also don't think there are any matchups where I'd sideboard out any copies. In my newer list I moved an StP to the board.
OK, OK, hear me out, now. Make your mana worse, play some loose discard spells, then toss in more 4 drops! Seriously, though, your decklist is super sweet. More Mages = Good.
What would you have cut instead? Also it's not necessarily a deck I want the full 4 copies against when I will most likely be naming StP with my own Meddling Mages

Nah, I actually talked to them after the match and they simply were not familiar with the Premodern etiquette. They come from playing more competitive formats on MTGO and it was their first time playing Premodern, so when I told them that the vibes are very much not cutthroat they understood and said they'd know for next time.
That's totally fine! You can build the deck a bunch of different ways, so you can build whichever one you want. This is by orders of magnitude better than any other version I've tried before (and I've tried plenty, this has been a pet deck of mine since I started playing the format).
