I love that you had sponsors to purchase nucs 🐝
I am surrounded by good and generous people!
Wax splash, ouch! Great church youth group setting. The suggestions of reducing weak hives to fivers? Or even over double screen boards. Powering through sir. On prayers and pollen :)
Thanks, Mike!
The survivors will be stronger, maybe add Russian queens to the mix.
What I do when I have a small colony of less than six frames of bees coming out of winter is to transfer them into a double stacked nuc, they tend to build up a lot quicker and they can control the temperature better, so they don't get chilled brood, just a thought for you, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family 🙏
That sounds like a good method. Thanks!
I agree with this idea. I would even go so far as to use your poly Nuc boxes. Transfer them all into the poly Nuc boxes to let them build up in a nice warm box. Just a suggestion.
I agree although I have no personal experience (yet) but I have done so much research and Mike Palmer talks about brood factories in nucs and that they build up way faster than in 10 frame equipment. I can't wait to get some bees, I want to start a business but unfortunately life is too expensive to save even a penny right now so I can't afford to buy my first hive. I have accumulated and built some hives and things but I just don't have a cpl hundred to buy a nuc let alone 2 which is a better way to start.
I love rendering wax…the whole honey house smells awesome!
Until it smells like slum gum. Yuck!
Did you sing for them Brad? I was telling my mom about your singing. Blessed Days...
LOL. No, I didn't. Perhaps I should set that up for next year.
Don't feel to bad about your bees. Some of us lost everything. You've got great support. I hope to build back to.
“Mr. short pants” Ha ha… I have watched your videos and marvel at your comfort level wearing shorts! Thank you for sharing videos.
Thanks for watching, Lloyd!
Im like you those deeps get heavier every year. I'm not building any more and gradually replacing them with mediums as they wear out. Wish i had startwd 5 years ago. I advise all my mentees to use all mediums and to even consider 8 frames if they are over 50. I admire your ambition.
Another option to consider if you have double screens is to put a weak split over top another hive to share the warmth and develop faster.
Hello. Can I have the size of your foundry
Link for the feeder jar lids? Think hed ahip to US?
Brad - you're positivity is inspiring! Enjoyed the video as always! Take Care!
Thanks Mike! All the best to you as well!
Since it is for charity, I would increase the prices 25% if you sell out. Consider it a donation.
You clean up well sir, except you collar was curly. I have a spare iron, send me your address! Bee well :)
Silly man!
@@ThatBeeMan I prefer the term 'professionally ridiculous', thank you very much!
@@normanpaterson ok, Dr. Evil.
29 mins in and the strips need to be applied for Great insurance
Thanks for watching! What are these "strips" you refer to?
The White strips could be applied for possible mite kills❤
White strips, you talking about apivar?
Are you talking about the apiva that failed causing the huge loss?
I am thinking about the possible lack of treatment only
