It's really kind that bomb manufacturers build them off of the same standard, use the same electronics, and even include sounds and lights on it. They didn't have to do that but they wanted to give people a chance. That's just really cool

I mean unless you are manufacturing high grade explosives for the military, most car bombs and pipe bombs are all the same
Thing is most people making bombs outside of military manufacturing dont have the ability to make their own wires. And since electrical wiring is made to take specific currents and do specific jobs its jot like they have a choice. As far as sounds go thats just what machinery does. Lights is definitely a choice tho.

Hicks is one of the best characters
He had great development. Started out as a guy who wanted to use Hondo as a mascot. Then he showed he actually cared about the officers and his job.

Fun fact: the actor who plays Commander Hicks on SWAT also plays LAPD Lieutenant Bates on NCIS Los Angeles.
He also plays Captain Garrison from Battlefield 4.

Couldn’t he have just rewound the timer to maybe 30 to 60 minutes since I think that cooking timer has up to that setting and most bombs aren’t gonna have a trigger on the timer being adjusted.

College student studying mechanical engineering here. First of all, in a setup like this none of the wires would be warmer than the other, they would all be either VIN, Ground, or Data, none of which get hot to the touch on a simple force sensor setup. Second, this might be some bomb disposal gear I'm not aware of but the jumper cables connected to the wire's insulation would do nothing, unless it was simply reading amperage, but cannot actually affect the voltage going through the copper. Third, connecting a microcomputer like this to an egg timer would be extremely overly complicated, but why not just turn the timer so it wouldn't go off for an hour? Lot of things wrong with this scene.
