  • ILLEGAL - “Fight For The Right To Dance”
This film will begin to rewrite the history of how dance music evolved in the U.K and beyond.
In Britain’s very own motor city, Coventry, a “Motown moment” happened but in electronic music. A youth and club culture movement that would set the foundation for the multibillion-pound worldwide industry dance music has become.
Coventry was the epicentre with the 1st legal warehouse parties and the 1st legal all-night dance club, that were conceived by its disaffected youth.
A real musical and social revolution was created, reconciliation from the climate of violence in the city against anyone seen differently on the streets and terraces. A youth, social and drug revolution not seen since the 1960's.
The film is factual, honest and documents the working-class heroes of the city. How a radical shift in support from the government led acid squad and police orchestrated the U.Ks first legal events, ultimately leading to the birth of a legal Amnesia House and the legendary Eclipse nightclub.
Young people written off by society stopped fighting and started dancing and invented something to be proud of.
This film was made with no financial backing.
    A Daylight Robbery Production.
