I swear the Maus is specifically coded to be more vulnerable to bombs because the IS series tanks regularly seem to survive bombs under 1000kg that land right next to them, while the Maus dies from 250kg that lands in its general direction.
Knowing Gaijin, it wouldn't surprise me if this was actually the case.
What do you expect? Gaijin is pro russian. Its the same with the top tier T-Series. Like russia gets every update a new top tier tank or plane while for example germany get every 3 years a new one. Or look at the br changes, everything went up except most of the russian ones. Most laughable is the 2S38 still being at 10.0 what not even exist in real life.

20 pounder APDS is sketchy trying to pen the Maus. You basically have to get a bang-on side shot into the hull to pen. Any angle, even just elevation to aim higher and it won't pen.

Mate Chariot APDS literally APCR with a new name. Anything it hits which isn't flat angle will definitely bounce it off or shatter it like crunchy cereal.

Unless things changed the maus is researchable past the anniversary days as long as you never change resesrch, so if you're still researching the maus after the days end it'll still count, that's how I got mine last year

The hangar's armor penetration possibility system doesn't take into account ammo not taken into battle, so that turret shot on the m60a2 didn't work because there was no ammo in the turret to explode, you probably took out the commander though.

Like a CAS player, i have to say. There is to much planes on ground RB... Some games, looks like i'm playing air RB... Maybe Will be interesting if gaijin raise up the XP needed to CAS. Or put a limit to planes spawn.

Exactly, limit to 2 or 3 planes max per team and raise to something like 750 or more point to spawn so people don't spawn after a kill and a half
2 planes max and yea around 750 SP entry fee, and only can use a plane 1 time per match, if they die then they have to do the rest of the mission with ground vehicles.
cas been nerfed like 10x to the ground and people still complain lmao. spawncost IS allready 3-5x compared to ground. bombs and weapons has been nerfed to absolute garbage, for example compare 50cal from ground to air vs air to ground. just look what they did to p47= u take trash rockets that cant even kill bomber OR u take 1000lbs and maybe can bust some track if u managed to drop 10m or closer while getting shot by 3xAA and 5x roof50cal. cas is/was never a problem...nonexisting balance in teams on other hand IS.@@k_balu-8104
Or they could just remove these shit aircrafts from ground battles. I saw Air battles and never saw an AA there, so why do they put airplanes on a ground battle? There should have modes were tanks can fight just against tanks. Idk why they didn't it yet

Had to have done so, I started using HE on big guns again, but also those bombs seem buffed bc I remember shrugging off 1k bombs in my maus
The Maus is incredibly susceptible to over pressure, pretty much hard counters it
@@LettuceGayming yeah because the entire tank is coded as one compartment instead of multiple ones, try for example a 150mm HE on a T-34's rear, it won't kill any crew because the engine compartment is coded to be separate from the crew compartment, while on the Maus if the driver compartment gets HE'd even the turret crew dies
I suggest the Lorraine 155 Mle.50 for France ^^ (mostly because I want it, it was added just before I started playing, and there is no way to get it..).

@6:37 as with any M46 up to M60, shooting the LFP works like a charm. For the Starship specifically, it also has a huge cupola. What you shot was the cheek of the turret and those are really bouncy when shooting from the front.

I am pretty sure the Maus is less survivable against bombs than a KV-1 now.. I could be wrong, but lately KV-1 tanks never seem to die unless the bomb is inside the engine deck (or the bomb is so big it kills everything in the same postcode as it)..

They probably messed with HE power and HE resistance of tanks. So, as usual, they forgot about some tonks, or just did it wrong there.

@@WarpPotato If you meant me, I usually have a plane in my ground line up for when I run out of ground vehicles to spawn in, but still have points left over (or someone is sitting in a really scummy spot spawn camping my team).
KV-1 was just what came to mind when Dollar mentioned the Maus not surviving being bombed, as they only seem to die when the bomb is on/under the tank.
@@keithrogers6876 ye, spawncampers are another plauge of WT. Sadly maps are designed that way. Gaijin just can't make things proper. As Dollar ones suggested, they sure need to make an update of just fixing stuff. But you know, that won't make much money, so yeeeah.

I think i am going to try to unlock this .i usually elite all my vehicles as i progress so i will have to change things up to get rank 5 of german line.i think im up to br of only 3.3 or 3.7 fully elite. I should be able to unlock it though , i think i just need to purchase enough rank 4 tanks I've already unlock in order to begin rank 5 research

Crossing my fingers Gaijin brings it back. Ever since I first played Warthunder I've always wanted the Maus, but at the time I sucked at the game and put it down for years. When I finally returned, it had been removed. And now I finally have hope to get the Maus once again, especially now that the game is more rewarding to play than ever. Can't wait!

I was playing yesterday tank battles, and in one match a plane took 3 Maus, so yeah, very "pleasure" tank battles with this guys who annihilate all ground vehicles

Fun Fact: The Maus's engine was so slow, and along with its huge weight of 188 tons it only had 1km of the gallon. So, it was never actually used in battfield but war thunder put it in anyway so just be grateful there's no fuel limiter in tanks. Anyways Love the Video Dollar good to see you using the Maus again.
I know you don't seem to get a lot of games with them, but just know that in GRB there are players out there like me who hop into air superiority fighters specifically to chomp on some sweet free CAS RP piñatas.

Fun fact, a single 5 inch caliber destroyer turret was half the weight of a maus (5 in. 38 american ones).
They carried 6 of them, they were also the secondary guns on the modern battleships of the american navy lol.
honnestly with the br changes of the last few updates the maus has gotten some of its old glory back as both players lacking knowlage about critical hit locations compairitively due to rarity and just all the things able to effectively negate its armour at angle both ricochaing more and/or being moved up in br more
Some stronk tanks move up in BR and a lot of lower BR tanks get moved up, that means a lot of lower BR tanks meaning a lot of weaker shell.
I have said it once and I will say it again, gaijin needs to just create a new game mode for ground vehicles only, they can still keep the multi battle game mode with CAS and ground vehicles, just make another one with ground vehicles only. it wouldn`t be difficult or time consuming, but they won`t do that because they want players to be mad so that they feel they need to spend money on AA vehicles, planes, or backups. i stopped playing just because i got tired of getting killed by planes while trying to play in my tank, I didn`t download the game to to fight planes, i like tanks i wanted to play in a tank against other tanks, but i couldn`t deal with 70% of my deaths coming from aircraft. but i still enjoy watching others play like DOLLAR and BO, y`all are hilarious and always make me laugh, keep up the great vids man

I mean it's kinda realistic that you get destroyed most of the time by planes, in reality probably the same would have happend to maus and E-100 because of the very low speed. So it's like the natural weakness of maus being one of the slowest tanks in wt.
