Homing the stepper

  • My little contraption I 3D printed so I know where the stepper axle is. Homing it will set the current position to zero and then I can add or subtract steps and always know where the needle is positioned.

    A very good arrangement! But why not make use of a Hall effect sensor?
    Wouldn't it be more reliable than light sensing?

    Do you have more info about this, like sketch, sensor en its config ?? Could be very usefull for a lot of people !!! Thanks anyway ...

      Hi, there is an update to this video. I stopped using those infrared sensors as they ended up being unreliable. I started using micro-switches instead. Here is a link to a newer video where I also show the sketch. ruclips.net/video/9mpWFTipTF4/видео.htmlfeature=shared
