    Hi Daniel, dankie een van die beste cats in die wereld. Ek kyk al vir jare na baie verskillende opsies en elke keer kom ek terug na die 53 toe. Absoluut puik!!!

    Love the fact that the engines are no longer underneath the berths.

    Great layout. Big improvement. Now it just needs to depreciate for a decade.

    Given the roof space available for solar, it would be a great option to offer a pair of electric drives and place batteries where the fuel tanks are. Just a pair of 14kW drives would be adequate for cruising paired with long life LTO packs and 5-8kW of solar.
    Another option I would like to see is an extended transom/hull with a larger fuel tank to boost the range for folks that want to do trans ocean runs. Just two more feet of length would be enough to increase the fuel for a long range version that could cruise California-Hawaii for example or Hawaii-East Asia.
    Why stop at 53? I'd like to see a Leopard 65 and Leopard 80 at some point in the future - more interior room, more spacious flybridge, 3000+ nm range, jacuzzi option etc... I know these boats are expensive and development is tedious, but the competition is fierce in the multi hull market right now. Many people are moving away from mono hulls and now want the same or more in a power cat... and the bigger vessels as well.

      Excellent points Luscious ! I am planning to become an owner operator within the next five years(unless another Catastrophy hits us), and this Leopard seems very apealling. I would also like to see several more solar panels and a hybrid option(with electric motors), after all, who doesn't want to save on fuel (and noise)? I can see that sooner rather than later, many boat makers would be cooperating with car companies for the latest in battery and motor technology.
      I would consider a larger version, in the 60+' , and I think that is the max not only for my finances, but also my operator capabilites.I see the Silent Yatchs offering different sizes, and i give credit to their company owners, for fine tuning the layout, over several years of sailing around the World.
      Leopard seems a no nonsense company, and with reasonable pricing. They sould expand their models.

      This is my biggest gripe shopping around for a cat. Range is appalling on these things. Would love a transatlantic option either through a hybrid system to extend range, or larger fuel tanks.

    It’s nice but they should have had full beam owners cabin similar to the Aquila 44 or the Aquila 54 coming soon. A full beam master cabin up front gives it a more spacious feeling and gives the owner pride in his ownership of the yacht

  • @Nozzall
    @Nozzall 3 месяца назад

    I really love this boat but in the 3 cabin version you have made a mistake by putting the bed in the aft. You should reverse the bed and bathroom so you have a full walk around bed looking out the window like in the VIP cabin in the opposite pontoon. With the shower in the aft you can then build a normal sized shower and with the extra space put in a walkthrough closet area between the head and bunk.

    Love it.. could I order a bigger one ? A tri deck .hull covered in solar panels ev motors jet driven ( protect marine animal's)..the hull can be made double with solid graphene batteries..inbetween..wing sails collapsible and kite sail.. with hydrogen generators. Would that be a tall order ? If money were not a concern ? Oh yes at least a 80ft pls and thank you.

  • @dwb73

    Very nice boat, but the lack of overhead hatches in the aft hulls is a big issue for me. Ventilation is crucial on a boat when the AC is not running. No overhead hatches severely restricts airflow in the aft hull compartments, and that can lead to mold. The small single hatch in the aft hull windows is not enough. I think Leopard should address that immediately.

      Valid point, I concur !

    • @8654ZuluFoxtrot
      @8654ZuluFoxtrot Год назад +1

      I agree as well, but not a massive issue. What I think is a vastly better solution is to embrace solar, not so much to drive the motors but to constantly fill batteries to run EVERYTHING when the motors are not on. There is some great things happening with travel trailers around this idea, and if you put solar on top of the fly roof and had a system to "unfold" the panels on top of and then around the roof, you could easily double the solar potential.

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive Год назад +2

      @@8654ZuluFoxtrot This is a great point. EVs already run very efficient A/C compressors that run on battery since there's not engine or belt to drive the systems. Would love to see efficient A/C systems that can run without the genset or engines running, right from solar/batteries so we can run A/C all the time without burning fuel, not to mention the noise even from the quietest gensets

    What's your Definition of "bespoke" Coffee table? I love the leopard 53, but the coffee table really did not look bespoke

    • @BringBacktheGreeks
      @BringBacktheGreeks 2 года назад

      I hope that "coffee table" is not the standard one. That place calls for a folding out hi/lo table, for the times that we need to have a meal indoors.

    What worries me is a big sea coming into that from well and hitting those doors.
    My friend had the same system in his leopard sailing cat and the door cracked open when at resin the marins - a nice design but totally impracticable.

    • @BringBacktheGreeks
      @BringBacktheGreeks 2 года назад

      Valid worry. Leopard sould address that, maybe put a reinforced glass at the door/ two frontal windows, and better make the door half reinforced glass, half metal...?
