    What a legend! Traveling alone with motorcycle in upper Egypt absolutely speechless. Please try to make a video about the situations positive or negative that faced you in your wild trips in Egypt, by the way you are making a very enjoyable commentary.

      Lol. It was a lot of fun! Some days were long and hard and frustrating, but absolutely worth every struggle because the majority of the trip was just incredible, it's the best way to explore a country and travel, I loved it so much. 🥂To many more trips like this! And yeah I would recommend it, if the police escorts aren't an issue for you and you can manage the traffic in the bigger cities, it's incredible 😍

Learning how to drive the motorbike in Cairo last year was nerve-racking as hell, I would know I had to go out and practice driving but could hear the beeping and noise of traffic outside my apartment and dread getting on the bike. Now I LOVE it

    what kind of bike do u have during your tour?
    and was it good, comfortable,, dependable enough for the long tour?

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  Год назад +2

      I have a Benelli 150cc that I bought here in Cairo. It's really more built for the city, it's not that powerful and not designed for very long rides or trips, so I have to admit it wasn't always that comfortable 😅But I am pretty new to riding motorcycles (learned last year when I bought it here) so I don't have any experience riding anything else to compare it with. My motorbike did survive the trip though, I went to shops to get oil changed and mechanic a few times while on this trip, but it was okay. I plan on making more road trips with the bike in the future, but I know a bigger bike designed for long distance and road trips would be better, I just can't afford it. Plus I like my bike, and it's good for riding around Cairo, where I live and usually am.

      @@Gventures , Where did you and the Egyptian man meet? I want to go to Alexandria but I was told by some Egypt travelers that Egypt gives tourist problems for bringing their prescription meds, and I take prescription anti-anxiety meds FDA controlled substance, here in Jersey. Any advice? If it works out, what do you think is a better month for travel there- September or October?

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  Год назад +1

      @@elleandfritz2012 Hmm, I really have no idea about the meds, I brought some prescription meds in (can't remember what they were for), but no one ever stopped me for having them, probably didn't even notice or pay attention. But they could, anything is a possibility, really. I don't know the laws or anything about that, I would probably research that online if I were you and see what it says. I would recommend October just because it is slightly less hot than September.

    • @elleandfritz2012

      @@Gventures , Thanks . I'm checking on all social media about this . I don't plan to visit Egypt and fall apart without my meds then get jailed ! Fuuucccckk that ! Is it OKAY to bring my liquor wherever I go or are they going to JAIL me for that too ???

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  Год назад

      @@elleandfritz2012 Uhhh...well different countries have different laws about prescriptions meds, not just Egypt, so it's best to look that shit up before you go to any new country. Is it okay for you to bring your liquor wherever you go in New Jersey? Cuz I feel like an open bottle is prohibited in some places. But yah, it's an ISLAMIC country, so not the best place to be dragging a bottle of alcohol around.

    Just out of curiousity, why do you need to be escorted to Cairo? For a particular safety reason? Or just because you are a tourist?

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  Год назад +1

      I was escorted across all of Egypt, or at least they tried. I ditched the police in traffic a few times or snuck out early from my hostel to avoid them, but they would always catch up eventually. I explain it more in Ep #1 of this motovlog series. The police say it's for safety/security. They only do this with foreign travelers. I drive around Cairo all the time and am never bothered. It's just Egypt's policy. ruclips.net/video/bxlb_SEie2I/видео.html

  • @mariangheti1327

    Do you have any idea if the government is usually closing public roads or if any desert public roads are forbidden? We are trying to arrange for transportation for a less known site near Abydos, but the driver told us the desert road until there has been closed by the government.
    We don't know if he is telling the truth or if he is just trying to avoid a detour, as he will be our main driver for other sites as well.

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  9 месяцев назад

      Dang, that's tough to say, as I am not sure about the situation near Abydos. But he may be telling the truth. I know the Desert Road to Alexandria from Cairo gets closed often when there is fog, which there often is early in the morning. I had that problem when I was trying to drive my motorcycle from Cairo to Alexandria as seen in this video: ruclips.net/video/BPQ-0NAqw74/видео.html
      After the fog lifts they open the road, but until then you either have to wait, or find a detour like I did (which took a lot longer 😅)
      I also know the roads are closed early or tourists are not allowed to be on the roads from Aswan to Abu Simbel after dark, which is why all the tour buses go down there so early (they also go down there early to see the sunrise, but it's not the only reason).
      In summary, I am not sure, he could be telling the truth or just making stuff up because he doesn't want to do it. Your best bet would be to reach out to other tour companies and see if they tell you the same thing as he did. Best of luck, and thanks for watching! 🙏

      @mariangheti1327 9 месяцев назад

      @@Gventures Thank you for replying! If we manage to get a driver there and the road is actually closed, I suppose they have clear signs or police checkpoints indicating that, right? I wouldn't want to enter a forbidden area by mistake 😅
