I'm wondering if the designer was sitting in the sewing room 1 day, looking at a BIG PILE of scrap material & decided to have some fun with all of it & call it art !
This so funny I just wrote a blog post saying the same thing. On the one hand, she seems clear that she's done with "fashion" in the conventionally sense yet the models are wearing a Nike collab. The odd thing is that if you on into one of the stores you'd be hard-pressed to find these clothes. Her work has long been my inspiration but for now I'm OUT.
how is this genious..i get the art aspect, and that for a fashion show it's interesting, and all that..and i also know that the all this unusual looking clothes, noone will really ever wear...and that it all trickles down into more ready to wear etc. but its still ugly
Ok. Arts is art. There is no ugly art as art has different meanings and emotions etc. But with regards to this art right here, I must say, I don't understand it.
sorry, im a fashion designer myself..and have never understood this garbage. i know its avant-garde, yada, yada...but ugly is ugly...I shouldn't be judgmental, but I just don't get this...to each his own.
It is more like a textile sculpture, avantgarde. I love it and it stirs emotions. But I love Armani and Dior, too. The difference is as between classic art and modern art.
how extraordinary, the Kawakubo version of little-girl fantasy with pillows, quiltings and innocent friendship,,, so fabulously creative!!
I am mesmerized with it. Rei is called designer's designer 💗
The knitwear was exceptional

Rei Kawakubo is a genius.
I love the Nike sneakers!
I've achieved this look for a fraction of the cost by buying everything at my local charity shop and wearing it all at once
i too, love the days wearing my glittery organs on the outside of my body
I think the designer used "the mother's ever present pile of laundry" as their inspiration. That's what this show looks like.
its like u take yr pillow everywhere. lol.
