This was my first Gizz show-I was working at the Independent at the time. I put their name on the marquee-so many z’s we nearly ran out of em! I bought those guys snacks and set up beers for them in their dressing room just like every other band coming through the venue. I hadn’t done any homework of listening to them prior to their arrival, I only knew that they had a silly, long-ass name full of z’s that I was going to have to put on both sides of the marquee, so I had no idea what I was really getting myself into when they opened the door with Robot Stop and completely changed my musical world. They reaffirmed my love of music, which gets ground down when you work at a venue. It can lose its magic sometimes when live shows are your life, but Gizz snuck up on me with their might and I was forever changed. I bought copies of I’m In Your Mind Fuzz and Nonagon Infinity immediately after the show-I’m pretty sure it might have been Ambrose working the merch table after the show that night, but that also could be a stoned recollection. Now, as an avid fan who will have been to five shows just this year (SLO, Bonnaroo, Desert Daze, Berkeley marathon, and I’ll see you Gizzheads for my first Red Rocks show in Nov!) it brings me so much joy that I can go back and listen to this vinyl or watch this recording of the best night at work ever.

There is absolutely no concert footage of it online, and I believe it's because everybody there was just so into it, there was nobody with their phone out.
