@@TwoStrokeJ engine braking wouldn't necessarily cause oil starvation to the topend, it causes wear and tear on the engine including crank.. especially in two strokes
stfu have you ever ridden a cross 2 stroke or a race 2 stroke bike? as long as you are using good oil, engine braking is totally fine, i live in italy and we race 2 strokes, i know what i am talking about
Man, greetings from Italy. On my 75cc Vespa pulling the clutch in deceleration to avoid engine braking helps A LOT. I mean, wearing out the throw bearing is still better than destroying an engine.
7:19 nothing wrong with engine braking, but if you have to do you might want to have a very fat pilot jet to counteract the immediate leaning the closing gas action has on your engine. It's best if the air to fuel ratio is so rich that the bike does not stay on idle and shuts off. I've ran so many hours like this and I've never had an engine seize. Also, with high temperature I usually run on road/track with 4% premix. If the track has very long straights I even go 6% oil to 1 liter of fuel as I've noticed the cylinder walls tend to get very dry. Talking about 35° C during the day, on a 1.2km straight, full gas. (if you guys think that is excessive, sometimes it can be but i'd rather spend money on oil than having a broken engine) Now that the engine is out, you might as well make a quick refresh of all gearbox + crankshaft bearings, new rod, rod bearing and shims. A cylinder lapping could be useful to return to perfect wall surface and to get a piston size that is in tolerance. make your air to fuel ratio richer, it'll slow the engine a bit but you'll get much more seat time in all safety with no worries regarding your engine.
I absoluty love your videos bro and am a huge premix ambassador as well lol. I had pretty much the exact same thing happen to my 02 rm 125 this summer, one of the tiny little crank bearing rollers shot up into the cylinder and siezed it due to heat. The hours of the bike were unknown but I rode that bike in the powerband all summer for hours on a stock crank! I just rebuilt it a few months ago with a new weisco crank and forged piston. Definitely recomend weisco stuff. Good luck and have fun on the rebild!
Dont worry about the "engine braking", get a better lower bearing and it'll be fine. Definitely was not a lack of lubrication issue. Not to mention the oil doesn't just disappear once you shut the throttle, the bearings are still lubricated not to mention you still have the pilot jet. When I ran my street bike on premix I had a huge pilot in it, I mostly didn't engine brake, just cause I liked coasting but I still did a lot, have the pump on it now.

the older 125cc doesn't have enough bottom end, a 144 is a bit of a middle ground between a 125 and a 250cc and for you it's ported and maybe a better exhaust. bils pipe is better than an fmf. it's all about where you are with your powerband. and how you ride your bike. you lack enough bottom end torque. so i would put a flywheel torque plate on. moose racing probably makes one for your rm125. and then give your ignition a little more advance, it gives more bottom end pull, but takes a little off your top end.

Your crank big end rod bearing blew from lack of lube, use the kill switch and hold the gas open for a couple seconds pulling into the pit after long track runs to flood the motor with lube and cool it down. 125s blow especially when screaming, and you engine braking didn’t help much either.
PLEASE don't listen to the people in the comments, no one uses the clutch in decel on track, it's a street riding technique, depends on how many hours the crank had either way, if it wasn't old it's probably the needle-idle jet combination that was too lean

10:42 bro that does NOT look like 2 stroke gas :D Its normally tinted alot more. Wtf. Is it the camera filters? :D Conrod bearings often blow because of either badly mixed gas, starvation of gas(To lean), or false air from membranvalves or stud/carb, possibly even a screw falling out of the carb.
