Good to see your progress and development with your desigins.
    Just suggestions here..
If you're making more designs with that pump action, the large finger-lugs previously used for drawing back the slings are kinda reduntant. Maybe reduce them a little so the pump slide can still grab them but they look a little less stuck out.
Also, the exposed channels for the lugs look a little out of place. Perhaps another layer of metal covering all that inner workings? Maybe one that goes over the pump slide, but still allows the wooden grip section to move freely?
Finally a pistol grip style forgrip incorporated into the wooden pump grip would probably give you more leverage, making it faster and slicker to operate.
    Great work dude

I absolutely love these demonstration videos and find it incredible frustrating that there never show you everything that's going on: no material lists including type and dimensions, all of a sudden there's other parts that they don't show you how they made them. There's some nice tools like a bandsaw and a drill press but they don't have a belt or disk sander? They don't even acknowledge the type of what appears to be super glue that bonds everything together. i find that i'm quite resourceful but without dimensions and a materials list, I just wasted 13:23 minutes!

I think if he made specifications it could end up violating some YT rule about showcase of how to build firearms or something. In this case he's just demonstrating what he could do with pieces he had at hand and a general idea of how to do them. Since the internet is vast one could just see how a gun works and realize how to follow the video without needing to adhere to It 1:1.

I like that you skip the time consuming parts and just show the concept. at 8:05 I could see that the handle mounting to the barrel had been supported off camera with a bridge made of more super glue and maybe baking powder or something dark but similar. I always wondered how such a small contact surface at the glue lines stood up to the task when pulling the slingshot tension on. Now I understand that there is more to it than on camera. Still a brilliant idea. I like the evolution of your designs over the time and also the evolution of your equipment and skills. BRAVO to you.

There is probably a market for wooden guns since they don't have powder and no actual explosion they aren't considered guns. If a person designed them right and made them efficient it would be a way to protect yourself and home if you've lost your gun privileges. Even if lethal from a short distance would still be helpful and more so a deturant from harm.

    • @Schwarzvogel1
      @Schwarzvogel1 5 месяцев назад +1

There really isn't any market for something like this. You're better off with a tyre iron, a golf club, or a baseball or cricket bat than this thing... which would still be illegal under the weapon restriction laws in some areas. Always check your local laws!
Moreover, using an improvised weapon like this in a self-defense encounter will get you sent to prison, because the DA will be able to spin it as malicious intent on your part--you _intended_ to inflict serious harm on another human being, which is why you created that improvised spring gun when you could have simply 'called the police', heh. Never forget that the prosecutor in a self-defense case has one job, and that job isn't keeping the public safe or upholding justice. It's to convince the court to send the person in the jury box to jail or prison.
If you're really worried about home defense a good set of motion-activated exterior lights and deadbolt locks will be far more useful than something like this. Criminals pick easy targets, so unless someone is personally out to kill you, they are less likely to choose to invade a house that they'll likely be caught whilst doing so.
Similarly, home invasions by random strangers are quite rare. If the bad guys are there to steal, they don't want to deal with the residents.

Aluminum for guns... Definitely not a good idea !
I did sport shooting in the 90s and 2000s. One day, in my shooting club, a guy died because of a mechanical breakage of a precision handgun with a duralumin slide.
Because of the fatigue of the duralumin metal following the many shots, the tenons on the slide broke and the slide went back, directly into the eye and then the head of the shooter. He died a few days later...
The Mauser 1945 type slides in steel have proven themselves through wars !
Whatsoever used, powder or not, steel is by far the safest !

My Primary Focus was- Anything to replace that wood, Even a Certain Hard Plastic, to make such a toy gun last longer and maintain Lubrication and internal cleaning maintenance. Wood isn't going to work as well with lubrication maintenance [as well as a plastic, metal... etc] ... especially if the wood is put together via just glue. I imagine that the lubricant would eventually dissolve the glue, and even eventually the wood [depending on what type of wood you use to build such an contraption].
