Ah, you noticed it too! Yep, it's straight out of the film ['The Italian Job', original 1969 version] where the getaway Minis go mad through the streets (and sewers) of Turin. 😁
I really appreciate you naming each car in the times stamps, there were a few cars I've never seen and that really helped! Your video/audio quality and editing effort are all awesome!
🤔 So that was intentional? I was wondering the first time I saw it, so I kept re-watching it, trying to figure out whether it was a strategy, a screwup with the wheel, or a mistaken assumption that it was a right hand turn. The last 2 options didn't seem likely, but if it was a "strategy", it didn't appear to have been carried out very well(excessive compensation in his right hand steering before the turn). But I definitely didn't know there was a name for this technique.
@@HighlanderNorth1 Yeah, too much right hand movement, he could've kept the weight transfer to a minimum to slide the rear wheels out. Still cool though

@@ROGUESPIRIT_ if you look a bit more closely, you'll see it's on wet tarmac. Not quite as easy to put that power down. Any car you can race is a good car, stop gatekeeping.
my heart broke seeing the alpine roll and smash against the rocks. i love these little cars so much i cannot imagine the fear and regret of a driver while rolling his precious oldtimer. hopefully he was able to restore the damages of the rollover and keeps it alive.
Better that they are still used and we get to see them run than seeing them waste away in some collectors garage to preserve the value of their investment
Glad to see these old cars still being used as they are Meant to be. The alpine roll was sad but could've been worse, and in true rally fashion they kept on going. Same with the delta, though that one was heart wrenching to watch roll.
It's straight up heart breakin to know that future generations will never know of or experience these majestic beasts. 😢 I'd have me one of these over somethin like a 1000HP Tesla Plaid all day any day!
I made some research and it seems that no it’s not a replica … it’s a real 289 from 1964, I’m not even surprised since there is some really crazy cars in this event ( Le Tour Auto )
In advance of the 2016 Austrian Grand Prix, there was a 1 lap "race" with these cars at the Legends Parade, driven by former Grand Prix drivers. Sadly, I can't find any footage of the actual lap on youtube
It was a lot of fun playing a guessing game to name every car, then checking the timestamp to see if I guessed it right :D Awesome recording mate, great footage!! My heart broke seeing some of the crashes :(

Thanks for posting the video and for taking the time to identify the cars . . . . Many of them were familiar to me; but some I didn't know the models. That took time . . . I appreciate that hard work . . . .

That alpine held up surprisingly well. Put the rear window back in place and you're good lol
Another one at 20:11
Happy to see them being raced, although my heart broke a little seeing the Alpine roll over :(
honestly makes me happy just to see them getting used for what they are for. Rally has bumbs and bruises. lil alpine ate it up like it was nothing

@@chancemcclendon3906 exactly haha

Very good effort with naming the cars 🚗 👏 👌 👍
A few? I'm American and into cars, and that was some Mad Max, WTF is that 💩. I can appreciate them all though.
