Yes! We don't need a barrage of instruments playing a shit ton of noises. I too am a believer in 'less is more' in many aspects of life. Not everything catchy is groovy and not everything loud can move your body. That requires something special. Also, the space in these kinds of music help me do my work or contemplate yet keeping me active.
There is so much hype around this style, when its just a well done track with the proper tools and years of passion with talent, just listen to the music and stop egowanking, the other things and personifications are unimportant details...

It's one thing to use presets in music, in another to use them in a commercial release and claim it as original music.
yeah man, just like all those lazy indie bands that cheated by not making their own guitars. at least that's what i thought, so i built my own guitar but got called out for copying the design of an existing instrument. eventually ended up creating my own max4live instrument (in a new version of max i coded myself) but when I ran the results thru my taste scanner it just printed out "god made the waves and we are only foam". still scratching my head trying to figure if the creator missed any opportunities when it comes to wave shape where i can intervene and do something original

@@stephanemassa157 I never said it's unoriginal simply because he used a software instrument. It's unoriginal because most of the song is composed of presets, beats and baselines made by someone else, which means the artist didn't make a considerable part of his song at all.
