I want to thank you for this recipe! I wanted to let you know that this recipe makes the best watermelon and mango gelato! I've made 2 batches of each now using a not too expensive ice cream maker that I bought 10 years ago and little used. My teenagers are finishing up the homemade gelato while the store bought ice creams are still sitting in the freezer! That says a lot about how yummy this is!
To make Gelato or ice cream without an ice cream maker, you can also use two dishes, one sitting inside the other, with corse salt and ice in the bigger one, and the Gelato/ ice cream mixture in the smaller one. Then you stir it while the ice and salt freeze it. Older ice cream makers have a similar design, except more electric. And you just replace the ice and salt as it melts and freezes. Great video, I really want to try the watermelon one. Seeded watermelon has a much sweeter, more flavorful taste, you just need to try to get most of the seeds out when doing stuff with it. 👍
Beautiful recipe guys, love the aromas you decided to go for. Making homemade gelato takes some time and effort, but it's totally worth of it. Also love your tips on the go, it was so fun to watch. Keep it up!
Your gelato looks way better than store bought. And thanks for the tips in making it...i used to do it only twice (the re-mixing) now i see i have to do it more times to achieve the perfect texture. Watermelon flavor is what I wanted to try👍
@@BearCusine lol! When i first make an ice cream i put it back in blender to remix..its after an hour i freeze it. Now i see in 30 mins its ok and only use whisk. Your video really helpful to me👍thanks!
@@CookWithFilJam Blender works better than whisk I think! It just because I was doing 2 flavors in the same time and I don't want to wash the blender again and again lol😂That's why I used a whisk in the video😅
I was nervous cause It was my first time to make gelato but it went well, thanks for this recipe🥰 I tried it with honey rosemary flavor it was SUPEEEER DELICIOUS!!!! 🤩 I do "strongly" recommend this combo.
If you dont have a blender what could you do? Could you squeeze a lot of oranges or could you use a juice in store or a jam? Thank you and this is so neat. Thank you for sharing.
I’ve never made gelato before but it doesn’t look too complicated. I will have to try soon! I’m so glad we found your channel. I just subscribed and look forward to more of your videos :)
Easy to follow recipe. I'm wondering if chocolate works with this recipe! I know the video says fruit based but it would be nice to make chocolate. Cheers 😊
Wow Phillip, your gelato looks soooo rich & tasty mmmm! 😋😋 Sweet video BC, very informative & entertaining too! 😎💯 I have never been to Italy but its totally on my bucket list and when I go I will find the watermelon gelato! Awesome job my friend, looking forward to more 🔥
I absolutely love watermelon gelato , and dont want to buy an ice cream machine, so this was perfect! Do you have a recipe where I can find the exact measurements of the ingredients? Cant wait to make this!
Can I know why there is cornstarch added? I’ve watched a number of gelato and ice cream recipes online and this is the first cornstarch is mentioned..it would be great to know the reason so I can understand the purpose of that ingredient.. 🙏😄
Hi, one cup of sugar = 200grams. All of these can be easily google 😜 I grow up with metrics system as well and have no idea how to convert these! but since I lived in the US, all of the measuring tools around me are in imperial system 😹
Does the watermelon one really taste like watermelon? I often buy watermelon flavoured things that dont actually taste like watermelon and have a really bad aftertaste.
Won't the high water content in the watermelon make the gelato icy and hard? Edit: I didn't listen to myself and made it. It was an icy mush, didn't scoop, just scraped even after 2 days of churning, melting and rechurning. Nothing worked. Did I do something wrong?
Hi, thanks for trying this recipe! How many times have you churn during the process? I have tested several times and the more frequent churning, the less icy mush would be. I admit that this process is annoying, so if you have an ice cream machine, that would be much better!
Hey thanks for replying, I remember that I churned it around 6-7 times. And when that didn't work, I melted it and then repeated the process because I was not ready to give up just yet.
@@srihithakurapati6976 I don't think you want to melt it since that brings it right back to 'watery'. You are just to break up the crystals as they form.

Been trying to find a gelato recipe Thank you so much.🎉
I'm impressed of how patient you are whisking your gelato for 6 times 😄💪 thanks for sharing definitely going to try this recipe 🙏💖
I am impressed by myself as well😅 I miss this watermelon flavor so much💪
You can freeze the initial mix and then chop it up into a food processor and churn it that way. Saves you from having to repeat this process 6x.

Thanks so much 😃😃 It is worth to churn it as much as possible! I wish i had done it more than 10 times and make the texture better 😂(too lazy)

Do you just use rosemary leaves and honey or is there a honey rosemary syrup we can buy? Thank you!
Thank you so much for the tutorial I’m doing a project on Italy go Girl Scouts and wanted to make gelato so again thank you 😊
I always struggle with making ice cream at home, even though I love it. Thanks for your video, helped me a lot :)
You can also add a small amount of xanthan gum which reduces the frostiness and makes the final product creamier. I use it in ice cream often.
I was just about to donate our ice cream machine, but now I want to make watermelon and mango gelato! Nice and informative video!

Hi, I think if using juice from the store, it will be too watery for the gelato. But I think smoothie will work for this recipe 😃
Thank you for your gelato recipe, it looks yummyyyy. I will try it this weekend. 😋😋😋
Thank you for this recipe. This looks much healthier than ice cream. I will give it a try sometime.

Yummy! Superb Icecream Recipe!!👌👌👍
the method is the same as granita. you have to stir granita every so often over the course of a day til it becomes like snow.
Nice video. Similar recipe to mine but more cornstarch?

Is there a sub for cornstarch
@@bzmI3 cornflour or wheat flour but when using wheat flour cook 2 3 minutes more

What makes this Sicilian? It's it the ratio of ingredients?
probably how they made it first in Sicily
You should substitute sugar with dextrose and corn syrup, 30%
Is there any texture difference in the ice cream? Watermelon contains more water than mango, is the watermelon's texture a bit icy?
The watermelon one is kind of like sorbet, but creamier. We have churned so many times so it is not very icy 😊The mango one is very creamy!
Please what is the recipe of gelato waffle cones
My favorite was the melon!
That is almost 5 cups of liquid for one egg. I understand lots of fiber but is the egg helping at all? I am not understanding why it' not more icy.
Thanks for sharing
Do it needs salt
2:12 Always strain for lumps ;)
An ice cream made from corn starch shows itself like sand in the ice cream after a while.
Is there a method without egg?
Love this!!!!
Thanks for watching Mi 😃
May I ask, one cup of milk is about 250g and one cup of sugar is how many grams? Sorry for my ignorance

Tq for your quick reply. Your recipe can make 2 flavours or did u do another portion for the mango. 🙏
And one last question, the whipping cream do not need to be whipped?
@@bennytan6942 Yes! The portion that shows in the video is only for one flavor. I do another portion for mango. I also haven't whipped the cream. 😄

I understand you!! This gelato does not taste like those artificial watermelon flavor at all.
