I wouldn't say Sony has ruined this generation of games. The gaming industry has been in chaos for a while since loot boxes, greedy investors, ignorant devs, even to some degree content creators and esports have come about. Also the focus on battle passes and cosmetics have ruined a lot of multiplayer games since a lot of online games have mainly focused on that instead of content. PS3/Xbox 360 will forever be one the best eras of gaming in my opinion.
depends, ps3/xbox 360 era was my most active era in gaming ever, and i'm also tempted to agree with you, but don't forget that that's the era where we saw the rise (or rather spreading) of DLC and the consequent downfall of gaming into a money laundering machine.
@@TheN1ghtwalker then that's on people not discovering more games because there's plenty of games out there that aren't glorified movies but atm these glorified movies are selling millions of copies.
Sony's version of "hiring back Steve Jobs" is to go back to Japan, where developers are still innovating (they need to ditch the ex Pepsi Co. CEO, which in Sony's case is California or the US in general).
@TheMahayanist You are actually right, the Japanese are traditionalists, which means that they're still attached to the "make a better/more innovative game than the competition so you'll sell more" business model. Model that in the west is seen as obsolete. Western corporations have "innovators" who are dedicated to find the best way to extract money from their investment. They employ psychologists to help gaming studios to make games frustrating enough so that gamers would want spend money in order to advance/get their rewards.
You just need look at what happened to US television to see where Western gaming is going: all the quality TV programs were replaced by cheap and awful reality shows simply because they are dirt cheap to make, thus more profitable.
Didn't they pretty much up sticks and moved offices to the U.S. some years ago? Perhaps that's when the rot started to set in that led them to where they are.
@@ivan3457 your spounting hot load of shit. Many many moives and TV that have came out recenetly are great. Not to mention how the US is one of the best places to start a buinnese as investors are more likely to invest in somthing new and thus somthing innovative. Also literally only mobile games are pay to win and surprise surprise Japan has some of the most gash grab mobile games (genshin)
@@tfyk5623 I was talking about television, not movies. History and Discovery channel used to make quality stuff before greed turned them into cheap reality mills. Also, Genshin and most other gacha games are Chinese, not Japanese. And sure, the Japanese make their mobile stuff too, but when it comes to AA and AAA console gaming there are zero loot boxes. It may be easy to start a business in the US, but on the other hand you're "selling out" to ruthless cuttroat sharks. It's a very different environment from the stability that a family run business like Capcom and Nintendo can give you.
@@ivan3457 Nintendo is pretty greedy. Lots of old games are still going for full price. Plus there are lots of American indie devs, though I believe japan also has lots of indie devs. In the U.S. you don’t have to sell out. You have the freedom to choose. Even though i do believe sony needs to change moving to japan will not help.
I don't know what you're expecting exactly. It's like complaining about racing games and all you do is drive. It's a oversimplification of the actual gameplay. It's more nuanced than that.
I'm so sick of the same single-player press circle for action sequence type of games from Sony. They really need to change their formula, try something new, and stop remaking/remastering the same games over and over...
tbf remastering doesnt take that long to do and can ensure they gain alot of money into their next high budget product. dont worry if you think that games being remastered takes away how many new next gen games are coming out their just taking longer because they have a higher budget 👍
They need to go back to Japan and do what Jack Trenton as head of PlayStation did yeah the formula when walking and tracking feels very samey we need new ways of game design
Sony found a formula and they are milking it as much as possible. The issue is not that these would be bad games. The issue is that once you've played one, you've played them all. Had the meshes and textures been replaced with stick figures you could barely tell the difference.
Wolverine at core is a guy who hacks and slashes, so a hack and slash is the only option. However, it is possible to make it more interesting that a DMC clone, or Spiderman PS4 clone. Make it a FPS. Like Doom Eternal with glory kills. Or make it a DMC clone except instead of using claws 24/7, make the player use claws at the cost of healing factor. So claws on, no healing factor. And vice versa. Allowing the player to strategise. This is something they have done in X2 Wolverine's Revenge. In the end, gotta agree. Insomniac and Sony has gotten lazy.
This game is gonna be filled with artificial playtime extenders to make investors happy. There'll be slow animations to pick up objects, there'll be forced walking segments, there'll be long healing animations, Wolverine will be just not strong enough to just rip everybody apart like he's supposed to and instead he'll be forced to use his fists without claws more often than he can use the claws. The forced Jean Grey missions will just amplify all of those things.
Okay 1) the bigger problem is that personal information about the employees was also a part of the hack, absolute should be off limits stuff, a.k.a. an actual good reason for folks to be pissed about and 2) while I don't entirely agree I do understand your point about 1st party Sony games feeling too similar, but what I think makes your point flawed is bringing up examples that Sony doesn't have anything to do with (Gotham Knights, Mad Max, etc.) and describing the gameplay loop as "fight dudes, upgrade, story segment, rinse, repeat" negatively like it hasn't been a major part of game design for literal decades, like your critique got so broad it sounded less like a Sony problem and more like a problem with the whole industry.
But that's exactly the problem the formula is so overused not only by Sony, its just that Sony are the worst offenders because they market their games as masterpieces and they're basically all the same. There's a creative bankruptcy problem in AAA gaming nowadays. Yeah the obvious answer would be "go play indie games" but that's not an excuse to not try and innovate. When was the last time a AAA game tried to break the mold and do some whacky stuff with physics or a whole new gameplay loop? This whole movie-games thing isn't good.
@@salk9943 and that's my problem with the original video it doesn't do enough to make that distinction, that it's not just Sony it's the industry as a whole. But in all honesty here's the actual issue: budgets are out of control, former Playstation boss Shawn Layden is also sounding alarms about this, and it is annoying me to hell that that is not the center of the conversation, feels like a race to the bottom especially for third parties, look at Immortals of Aveum situation for instance, like why are they making the Wolverine game another overproduced AAA project like the God of War reboots and Hellblade with "super photo realistic visuals" when it's supposedly just set up for a future X-Men game? Like if it was up to me Wolverine would be more budgeted like Hi-Fi Rush or Rift Apart, skip Spider-Man 3, head straight to X-Men and then a Spider-Man/X-Men/Venom crossover after that. And use the money that would've gone towards more of these overproduced projects instead to side stuff that there's less of an overhead to reach but still have enough interest like Resistance, Sly Cooper, Etc, even if you have to get some outside talent to do it like its software with Wolfenstein and Rage. I said something similar about Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch, that port shouldn't of happened at all and instead the money should've gone to making something less expensive but folks still have interest like a port or remaster of Shaolin Monks on the switch or something. And don't even get me started on the live service crap.
I'm surprised nobody's tried just making these games into a DMC clone. Pretty depressing that modern beat em up action games peaked with rocksteady's braindead combat from arkham asylum.

What I find ironic is.... Ubisoft gets shit for: - samey gameplay - empty maps - uninspiring quests - endless collectables And yet... Sony has basically made. - the same 3rd person action game with stealth mechanics - filled with more cutscenes than gameplay - the same open worlds (quite literally with Spider-Man) with the same kinds of collectables. - every story is Dark & gritty in some form. If people enjoy that style of game, cool but don't shoot down one Dev/Publisher while propping up another for pretty much the same thing.
@gimmeyourrights8292 nah I disagree. At least Sony went out the box with there games from here and there. Ubisoft has basically churned out the same game for 7-8 years.

4:08 - That's where you're wrong. Sony has achieved that level of market dominance to where they can coast of the Playstation brand name alone. So will fans admit nearly all these games follow the same forumla or say they're bored? Not in large enough numbers to matter. They'll inevitably be drowned out by a sea of people assuming any criticism is somehow a "pro-Xbox" initiative, they'll rally to defend and/or deflect. It's called a genre. If you don't enjoy it, try a different genre. Sure, Sony publishes a lot of action adventures (because they're very popular), but it's not the only genre they offer.
It's not a genre problem, it's a creativity problem. I mean they have medkits in this game. Wolverine is gonna craft medkits to heal. They saw it in The Last of us and Resident Evil and thought "Why not put it in our game? Sounds like a good idea". It's Creative Bankruptcy the game.
They didn’t ruined a “generation of games” but THEY SURE FUCKING RUINED THEMSELVES. look at the PlayStation 2 exclusives and PlayStation 5 exclusives, the amount of variety and different experiences sony used to create with their games is overwhelming, then you look at the ps5 games and it’s like watching a collection of funko pops, it’s all the same boring slop, sony is pandering so much to the western audience that the Japanese audience is getting tired of their ass, they keep making marvel games cause they know redditors will buy that shit day one, there is no space for ape escape, parappa or hell even gravity rush, cause those games sure don’t make the same amount, but if you look at Nintendo or any indipendent studio, you realize that creativity and originality still sells
What’s better releasing a rushed game that is buggy and broken or releasing a game that took years to make that is worth the wait. This is modern gaming. We’re talking about making development time similar to the PS2 era is not possible anymore because games are getting more and more ambitious.
@@kevingame3198 Then they should stop making open worlds and overly realistic graphics, and useless lore with useless collectibles and focus on gameplay loop more. Nothing justifies 7 or 8 years of development for repetitive games. Sucker Punch has barely made 2 games in 10 years (with a disappointing sequel that lacked the stakes and the city scale threat of the previous game) while they made 5 games in 9 years in the PS2-PS3 era. 6/7 years to produce yet another open world. I know this might sound weird knowing that they've been criticized a lot back at the time, but I love fully linear games. My favorite game from the PS4 era is probably Uncharted 4, even though it was not the best in the series (2 was way more spectacular and had a great story) and even thought there were some open sections but it felt natural and well-crafted. And that's why I think the PS4 generation is the worse. Sony's strategy was to reboot every famous franchise they had to appeal to the new casual audiences who never were interested in games before because of their arcadey feel. This is one of the reasons Ratchet and Clank PS4 was the best selling game in the franchise even though being the worse, and that God of War 2018 had the most anticipated sequel. This gen was full of remakes/remasters (Shadow of the Colossus, Ratchet, Nathan Drake Collection, MediEvil, The Last of Us Remastered, Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, Spyro Reignited Trilogy and I could go on).
@@kevingame3198 games aren't getting more ambitious, corporations are getting extremely reckless, and the majority of AAA games haven't done anything new in over a decade. What he wants is for Wolverine to be hacking and slashing or tanking bullets like he does in the comics. There was a GOW clone game made of him years ago and it's infinitely better than this interactive movie.
I've made more or less thos same critique, that Sony is living off a formula that is tired and for the amount of consoles theu have, nobody is buying their first party. Wolverine is one of 5 Marvel properties Insomniac has scheduled, too. Spider Man 2 opened a lot of eyes. Prediction: Sony is going to experience a lull like MS did throughout basically all of the last generation and it's a shame as there was a very easy way to avoid it. Im getting kinda tired of people acting like sony and other companies only started doing movie like games post last of us 2. Its been around since the ps3 and 360, however the reason it wasn't really hated back then is because it was new and there was more variety aside from that. I think honestly alot of people shitting on it should really expand their horizons and try other genres, rather than immediately hopping on another game like spidey or tlou2 because its new and popular, even if you don't necessarily like that genre. There is so many lesser known and indie games out there that dont get the attention they deserve because they are overshadowed by the popularity of triple a movie games
So consumers should never complain about AAA games that they bought the console for, and instead should play pixel art indie games that could run on laptops ?
Wolverine is awesome and x-Men Origins Wolverine was great, but Sony could never replicate that in modern gaming with their slow, clunky shit game design.

I agree and sad how Sony players says it’s okay for this over priced game with the same format over and over spending more money on the psn online when they not even producing multiplayer games it’s like they only focus on single player games and they had a killer multiplayer games back then especially socom ,mag, kill zone the list goes on but there not even trying cause they know these guys will buy the games regardless let’s make knack 2 it will sell millions like come on bro even that will not be a multiplayer game
I think there’s so much issues just going on. For starters, Microsoft does not really care about Xbox and exclusives anymore. That’s the reality. So because of that, Sony really has no competition. So they can easily make “slop” and be rewarded as a great game. Aka Spider-Man 2 and the last of us 2. But at the same time, Sony wants exclusives and they do anything to get exclusives. When the court case came out with Sony claiming Microsoft for being a monopoly, information came out that Sony was paying off so games didn’t come to Xbox. The Final Fantasy remake is a good example of this. The court case even concluded that if anything, Sony is the company that’s more monopoly due to their Exclusivity. Which I think is why they are starting to release more games on PC because they don’t want to get in trouble.
I honestly just think games tend to be a 8/80 situation. Either they put everything into gameplay or into experience. There's obviously in between cases, but they're all fighting this dilemma. Since casuals don't like difficulty, they tone down gameplay more often to cater to that audience and keep the larger income flowing. No matter how hard you try to make the game, it's designed to still be easy enough so content creators won't have any struggles and be able to show how "fun" their product is to bring in more clients. I don't like how gameplay has been capped in favor of experience. Controls have been changed just to fit the animation oriented style that's been plaguing the industry. Sorry, but I like to have more than just the option of pressing X to watch the game play itself. I hate that 'Spider-Man' is one of the only titles I can actually just have fun running and jumping where I want because even those are limited. This is why I miss PS2 era so much. All that freedom developers had is gone unless it's indie. I know we live in a time where all people want is to sit back and relax while playing a game, but there's so much more joy when you actually want to pick up the controller to do whatever YOU want.
I wasn't really looking forward to this game at all. Since I already player wolverine origins in 2009. And that was basically a perfect wolverine game. And enough of a fill as far as wolverine gameplay is concerned. Even after all these years. What they basically did is they took a dump on gow as a franchise, made it soft and for casuals, and then decided to make an og gow game in wolverine with a different camera. The game looks so boring that it hurts.
Same happen Middle earth and Batman games. Most AAA games does similiar gameplay. Like Rockstar GTA/RDR or Arkane Deathloop/Dishonored or EA Dragon Age/BF/Fifa like games.
The gameplay looks generic af but the worst part is I am pretty sure the story will be shit, sprinkle in some emasculation of one of the most badass characters ever like they did in spiderman 2, modern gaming sucks, modern games just suck, I hate the politically correct bs movement
I'm just gonna say, game stuff aside (which was fun) don't drink the steve jobs kool aid. He didn't save much, he didn't say a lot of what is claimed he said, and he didn't innovate much himself. A shame though as Driveclub is brilliant and I do miss it but that's about the only thing. All this power and exactly the same rinse repeat shit every time wrapped in cinematics as if that somehow makes it brilliant. Keep doing this shit Sony and you'll soon go bankrupt
So the Wolverine game is a interactive cinematic movie? How typical coming from Sony’s library, now if you’ll excuse me I’m going back to the indie/double A market. You know, where actual video games reside.
You’re arguing about something that everybody’s praising, these games are masterpieces in everybody’s eyes. Everybody loves PlayStation for their exclusives as they make the best games of every year. Why not talking about the rest of the gaming industry which everybody now deeply hates, PlayStation is one gaming company that hasn’t been corrupted or money hungry.
No they actually don't give a fuck about their exclusives given the sales. Xbox and nintendo have a way better attach rates for their games. They like playstation because it's the default that all of their friends use. That's literally it...
If you seek innovation on the gaming industry look at Nintendo. This is how the rest of the industry should run. Microsoft and Sony are stagnating (more Microsoft than Sony, to be fair) because they've chosen to stagnate. Sure, it was easier to came up with new concepts when technology was growing rapidly, but the slower pacing of the technological advancements is not an excuse to stop innovating.
I used to watch it when he began, but then I noticed how much complaining he did, and he tried too hard to go viral with unpopular opinions, so I quickly stopped watching years ago.
Not sure why this came up on my feed, but I was intrigued in the video and hoped that I would get a viewpoint that would make me think. Well.......no. This is the same old clickbait nonsense that is clogging up RUclips. @2:44 You say that you describe Sony's entire catalog of games by explaining how Spider-Man works, yet in the same graphic, We have LBP, AstoBot, MLB, Ratchet and Clank, Knack, Shadow of the Colossus and more, games that are NOTHING like Spider-Man. So yea, that makes NO sense. With regards to Insomniac making something that we don't want, huh, the reveal trailer on the Sony and IGN pages have over 8m views and universal praise. So yea, that does NOT check out at ALL! Lastly with regards to Sony and Steve Jobs, well, it's always difficult to predict the future, but seeing as Sony is posting RECORD numbers, I don't think that we need to worry about PS going bankrupt. SONY isn't doing so hot but that's another conversation. Overall, poor quality video, that decided to wade into the spoiler/leak territory and did nothing to add value to the viewers day.
You may be new to video games but 3rd person games are designed the same way because this is the most optimal way to create a story based game, there’s a reason why it hasn’t changed.
Yes, those problems exist but the fact every game now is a glorified movie is on Sony.
Yeah the era of when internet and online was just starting aka era of the technology starting to advance
Alongside ps3 & ps4.
depends, ps3/xbox 360 era was my most active era in gaming ever, and i'm also tempted to agree with you, but don't forget that that's the era where we saw the rise (or rather spreading) of DLC and the consequent downfall of gaming into a money laundering machine.

It may be easy to start a business in the US, but on the other hand you're "selling out" to ruthless cuttroat sharks. It's a very different environment from the stability that a family run business like Capcom and Nintendo can give you.

The success of The Last of us ruined everything
I'd argue that game and the system that batman arkham asylum brought to the industry.
Kojima was the road map
There still time to cook it and besides those leak were two years Ago footage we don't know what it looks like now on production stage
How has Insomniac gotten lazy? Lmao

@@kevingame3198 Then they should stop making open worlds and overly realistic graphics, and useless lore with useless collectibles and focus on gameplay loop more.

Steve Jobs innovated the fuck out of the Apple III... you fix it by dropping it 6 inches to get the overheated chips back in their slots.
"Ah a Sony PS exclusive, what brand of walking punch stuff simulator do we have this time"
Is it funny that i thought it was cool from what i saw and then got shitid on, also i do get the point, its repetitive
Says a lot to me when the best PS4 exclusive is a remake of a 2005 PS2 exclusive.
Yeah, I used to be all about Sony but yeah, I'm just done with them.
Sony can still make the PlayStation orb were you just hallucinate the game you wanna play
The leaked gamplay looks like a last of us combined with god of war gameplay lmao
And what exactly are you people expecting it to be? The guy has metal claws in his arms. What would he be doing? Casting spells?
@@SIPEROTH cant get over how they complain about the big buff guy with claws fighting people (with claws)
Talk about how COD as a franchise can be saved 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'm just gonna say, game stuff aside (which was fun) don't drink the steve jobs kool aid. He didn't save much, he didn't say a lot of what is claimed he said, and he didn't innovate much himself. When he left apple originally, he made another computer conpany that failed iirc. He's also a large bit of what had apple on a downwards slope to begin with
sold my ps4 a couple of years ago because the so called brilliant exclusives were boring me shitless. Same old cinematic by numbers games that I really couldn't understand how people could enjoy. A shame though as Driveclub is brilliant and I do miss it but that's about the only thing. All this power and exactly the same rinse repeat shit every time wrapped in cinematics as if that somehow makes it brilliant. Keep doing this shit Sony and you'll soon go bankrupt
Make wolverine a dating sim and im all up for it.
So the Wolverine game is a interactive cinematic movie? How typical coming from Sony’s library, now if you’ll excuse me I’m going back to the indie/double A market. You know, where actual video games reside.
I'm sure the actual game will be amazing.
"Hasnt been corrupted or money hungry" 💀
No they actually don't give a fuck about their exclusives given the sales. Xbox and nintendo have a way better attach rates for their games. They like playstation because it's the default that all of their friends use. That's literally it...
TLOU 2 crunch LOL
If you seek innovation on the gaming industry look at Nintendo. This is how the rest of the industry should run.
Microsoft and Sony are stagnating (more Microsoft than Sony, to be fair) because they've chosen to stagnate. Sure, it was easier to came up with new concepts when technology was growing rapidly, but the slower pacing of the technological advancements is not an excuse to stop innovating.
CONSOOOOOOOOOOM
How does anybody even watch Dreamcast guy?
I used to watch it when he began, but then I noticed how much complaining he did, and he tried too hard to go viral with unpopular opinions, so I quickly stopped watching years ago.
Thats sick dude. Those dubstep sounds i can tell u made them urself
u will blow up just keep posting u super funny
Overall, poor quality video, that decided to wade into the spoiler/leak territory and did nothing to add value to the viewers day.
he actually complained about the game about a character who claws at people having the character claw at people
You may be new to video games but 3rd person games are designed the same way because this is the most optimal way to create a story based game, there’s a reason why it hasn’t changed. Are you serious angry that the most entry level way to attack an enemy is by punching the enemy? You want a game to start with a minigun? 😂
why not? what stops you from getting a minigun after starting new game in gta and just wreaking havoc around the map untill you get bored and switch do drifting around the city? gta, early assassins creed games ( until rogue ), saints row ( 2,3,4 ). are my favorite open world games, you don't have to upgrade just go and have fun use your imagination and not what the devs force you to do. why is every single mission in current games is just little bit of stealth and then kill em all? there are even more examples with 1st person games that give you freedom of choice, such as: dishonored, mirror's edge, hell even earlier far cry series don't force you that much as the current "AAA" games
@@Spechawkfrom AC2 and on u literally complete missions to buy better weapons/armor. i mean yeah, the games are overall easy enough that u don't have to but there would be no reason for the currency system in those games to exist otherwise.
none of the games you listed give you a mini gun from the start
you're arguing for one thing and saying another
All the games you mentioned don't have much freedom either. You have freedom to roam a map and just jack off between missions but when you get to the actual content or missions of the game, you generally do them one way
no offense but your argument is stuck together with duct tape and toothpicks @@Spechawk
The Ponies aren't going to like this one.
Ehhh I’m fine with it I enjoy seeing you guys try to trash us, it always similar stuff but unlike grifter gaming or synthetic man child this one seems far more laid back.
True. although Xbots have nothing to celebrate since their brand is stagnating since 2013.
Microsoft ran out of steam very fast, its franchises got stagnant and repetitive in a way shorter period of time compared to Sony.
I haven't enjoyed a PlayStation exclusives since insomniac Spider-Man on PS4. After they recast the Peter Parker face for the PS5 remaster I ended up not getting the PlayStation 5 console and so far I really feel I haven't been missing out.
Should they have made it an online shooter?
Turn based card game Like heartstone
Guess what they just did
Sony doesn't make video games, the make 'Video: The Game'!
So your point was that the game, which doesn't even have a release date only leaks, looks too generic and when trying to analyse what else to do with Wolverine you came up with just don't? Smarf
2:44 hum Blood Borne, shadow of the colossus and gravity rush defenetly feel like the same game
They found gold and is just digging the same spot( same game function and overall gameplay) so why look for a different place( A different gameplay) when its easier to be lazy
I don't think some of your comparisons are fair. Especially Mad Max, l love that game and the driving fact was definitely unique
man at 2:44 you're doing dirty at some of the greatest videogames ever game wtf
am obviously talking about The Show 17 and The Show 19
Looks to me like an alpha working off the existing engine from Arkham asylum
Bro I love your content on god but maybe I’m just toooo high but sometimes it’s hard to follow the vids like we kinda drive left but omds your content so so sick tho please keep it up

Came here After HD2. These clowns running Sony need to be replaced by anything better, hell even an AI.
Bro why are you copying other channels
Each like is a plee for Steve Jobs to be Apple's boss again
Their exclusives are literally some of the best games made, they didn't ruin shit 😂
OK CONSOOMER. They are mid and boring.

where's the standoff ?
this guy must have a lot of right opinions because he's in a video
Another Xbox fan guy I’m assuming
When Sony gets criticized it’s a problem but when it’s Xbox there bad
I think Xbox is a better platform because almost all the time PlayStation really has nothing to offer for me to enjoy. I don't like their realistic 1st party games I think it's stupid.
BuB, have you even played origins wolverine? or how wild was that? and how wild would be a substantial upgrade from that 2009 game? Let insomniac cook
ahhh the rad brad jumpscare got me
I love Sony games
Haters are everywhere. At times I am, at other times I’m not. It’s just human nature. Enjoy your preferences & all will be well. 🤙
Let's think about it a game called GOD OF WAR what would you do other than killing I do agree that sony is making similar games tho
Yeah yeah
Cutscene simulator game bad
Souls like game good
I've seen this take a million times on Twitter this argument is formulaic
Carcinization
What does a form of convergent evolution have to do with it? lol
ah shit, I bought Mad Max for PS4 and didn't play it yet, Arkham style.... Yeah!...
Doesn't look like Pathfinder WotR to me
Yeap.. they make all games identical. now go grab some random shit scattered around the land .. flowers or trash or whatever.. then craft some stupid crap with it. and call that "a fun activity.".
and then a company like the one who made baldur's gate 3 impresses everyone with the magical concept of turned based combat because OH MY GOD THERE ARE MOMENTS WHERE PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO PLAY A ACTION GAME WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?" lmao..
from a time where tetris, turned based games, games where you had to actually think and not mash buttons, strategy, point and click, split screen games, were all around.. to a time where every single game is a open world action game with crafting, travelling in a vehicle, etc.
heck even god of war is this even if a bit different camera angle exist.. this wolverine is it. (with lousier combos)
we live in a weird time where final fantasy is now a beat em up action game and like a dragon/yakuza is a turn based rpg.
developers have no clue of what they are doing or what the consumers are craving. people get sick of watching the same movies and playing the same games folks... variety is important.. stop looking at your competitors and thinking "what can I copy" and instead go for "what everyone is missing out?"
Remember me when you’re famous
