- Hi, I'm Nick and I've been living in the Algarve for over 23 years. I drove over to Praia da Luz to try and get a glimpse of the digital nomad community. I met Sebastiaan Opschoor, a really talented video maker and marketer. Check out some of his work (including the award winning Orange Life of the Algarve):

That turned out nicely and what a super nice paddle we had that morning! For those looking for the Oranges in the Algarve video, here’s the link: ruclips.net/video/-m4ZFO7Slaw/видео.html
Thanks so much Sebastiaan! We should do that paddle again. What a pleasure!
"Not all DN's are young. Some are in their 30's". Thanks, Nick. You've just destroyed my soul 😭. If I ever meet you (beware, I'm driving to Portugal this August with my youngest) you can help drown my sorrows with a beer. Oooo. Beer. There, I'm feeling younger already.
😆
😂 mine too! 💦
Did I really say that? ❓
@@AlgarveAddicts OMG, so sorry. No you didn't!!!! Now, that's how insecure I am in my old age (59)😃. I consider myself corrected. Now, where did I put my beer
Heheh, cheers Glen 🍻
Couple of years ago while traveling north..stopped by those palm trees and sitting structures off to the right of the film in visual overwatch. It is pretty and quaint. Small world!
It's a wonderful little spot.
I watched Sebastian's film The Orange Life of the Algarve. Very interesting. Good stuff Nick, as usual.
Cheers 👍🏼
Very nice vid. Thanks mate
You're welcome AJ
Beautiful opening shot and great music! Really felt like Al-Gharb!
Thanks Janet.
Great video! My wife and I just moved to Lagos as digital nomads and fit the description you laid out perfectly lol and actually bought a paddleboard from Danny at the shop you showed near the end.
Fantastic stuff Joseph! Where to next?
@AlgarveAddicts Living in Lagos, getting involved with the community, and checking out all the Algarve has to offer! Thanks again for putting so much effort into all of your videos.
You're welcome, hopefully we can do a meetup down your way this summer.
Great vid. So...what's it like in the summer? for the residents i mean. Do Algarvians (?) flee the area?
Thanks Steve. Most Algarvians are working to support the influx of tourists.
Nice video Nick. I wonder what the percentage of DN are self employed VS simply working remotely for a company.
I wonder. I'd suspect it's fairly evenly matched.
I want to get away from Englands grey permanent clouds. How do we migrate in our 50's? I want blue skies and sun most days. Life too short . I'm sure I could get a web dev job there.
Hi DP, if I was you, I'd rejig your work so you can get a web dev job online. Then come over on a D7 Visa.
@@AlgarveAddicts Thank you for the swift response and advice. Cheers 🍻
Or a Digital Nomad visa (so called D8).
So was this May 2022?
Yup, I've been meaning to edit it for ages.
