He should have been Bloodsport, and said that he took the mantle of Deadshot after the original died, and looked after his daughter. Like Bloodsport, Deadshot and Deathstroke knew each other from way back. And after Deadshot was killed by Red Hood/Arkham Knight, Bloodsport changes his name to Deadshot as a tribute to his old rival/friend, and is looking after Deadshot’s daughter. See. Super simple. Or use Will Evans Deadshot, an actual black guy Deadshot they literally made because of Will Smith's Deadshot Then again this is game that decided to do 4 Squaders that Are NOTHING alike to each other and give them all guns And gadgets of absolutely unrelated different characters. Even Square Enix wasn't "smart" enough to give their Avengers guns or gadgets from other characters just so they could double jump or traverse. Like why not use super villains from DC that ALREADY have guns and ALREADY very similar in terms of physical capabilities and all that. Or better yet just use comics based Bloodsport as One guy, maybe with 3 other gun based DC villains if it is Co-op mode. On every single level this "game" made absolutely wrong decision.

I just don't understand why even attempt to balance these characters, for me it is absolutely great time to play EA Battlefronts as a normie grunt next to Luke Skywalker that is much faster than me, much more durable, can jump much higher than me, etc etc etc. Or play Against someone like Darth Vader or Maul or Boba, with My only vaalid tactics against being running away and hoping that maybe my other grunt buddies come around to jump at them. To be fair every adaptation of the suicide squad we've gotten Deadshot has either been black or had dark skin considering both suicide squad movies Deadshot was black since the first film he was played by Will Smith (don't remember who played him in the second film) and even in the assault on Arkham animated film he had dark skin (can't remember if he was actually black or if he just had dark skin)
@@KnightmareSenpaihe was white in Assault on Arkham. Though they did make him look sorta Hispanic, but he’s not (I mean he could be white hispanic but he’s only ever classified as white, and that’s more of an ethnicity than a race so it doesn’t really matter).
It’s implied that Black Deadshot is from another universe but they didn’t really discuss that in the main game which was a bad decision for real since it made a lot of people confused.
It's the opposite, this Deadshot is the original, the other one is most likely from a parallel world. The game's audio files you unlock for Deadshot explains that. This Deadshot is the original that retired a long time ago. The one we see in the entire Arkhamverse prior to this was a copy cat or from a parallel world. This one in KTJL is the original one.
@@aires425I honestly doubt that. Luthor even shut him down when Deadshot asked if the white one could’ve been the Earth 2 Deadshot. It honestly makes more sense for black Deadshot to be from an alternate universe who somehow ended up here. The one issue is his daughter, but it could be explained if they do it right. I still think it’s unnecessary to bring all this multiverse stuff just to explain why they race swapped Deadshot, when they could have just brought in Bloodsport, or Bronze Tiger even. But I think this whole plot is interesting and I am excited to see how it plays out.
@@aires425yes it plays into the story and I’m not gonna pretend like it’s bad writing or anything because because they are dropping clues here and there, but at the end of the day it IS an unnecessary addition when they could’ve just brought in a different character if they wanted to include a person of color.
And in the bio for John Stewart in this game (that is supposedly written by black Deadshot) he calls him "one of the good ones", which is just really weird and I don't understand why the writers at Sweet Baby Inc feel the need to inject their race-grifting into this game
This explains why brainiac referred to his mind controlled justice league as ,"My justice league." He most likely has multiple sets of them for each clone of brainiac from other worlds. This also means that there is potential that none of them are dead truly because he can clone, regenerate or just unleash another set of them.
MASSIVE SPOILERS they already said in game that the leagues DNA's dont match up. Brainiac indeed cloned them. Its why green lanterns ring doesnt fly away, why superman isnt weak to kryptonite, why flashs' finger regenerates when he comes back evil. Hence why they would actually be weaker than their the counterparts. The game is a live service and most likely will have future seasons rescuing members of the real justice league from the ship.

@@moongoalie2410 left 4 dead isn't all that great of a game neither are the Arkham series. There's no game that's the pinnacle of gaming. There's games you like and games you don't. It's that simple.
This just contradicts Batman being "worlds greatest detective." In the Arkham games, you'd think batman would have deduced that Deadshot in Arkham City was a fraud. Then again, there was a moment where Batman noticed in on of deadshots vantage points that he was "getting sloppy" leaving evidence.
Yeah and when people are saying "this is just another arkham universe" or "this is just a different universe deadshot" I'm questioning if Rocksteady was adamant for this to set after arkham knight you'd think they could've made this character bloodsport. So imagine if this game hadn't gone the push back they way it did. I'm pretty sure they would've kept that this was in the same arkham universe that we know, like if batman in this game is the same arkham batman then all they did was use the "oh this is just another arkham universe, so arkham batman you know isn't dead' yeah I'm pretty sure all those delays they wanted to lessen the blowback when the game came out. I'm still not considering this to be none canon imo but I'm just thinking about all this that Rocksteady did attend to be set in the same universe. And all these people who say "this isn't the same arkham universe" are just damage controlling
@@BanishedSilentShadow3318 Every decision they made for this game was driven by money. They made a Suicide Squad game to profit off the hype and relevance of the team after two film releases. They made Deadshot black to make him recognizable after Will Smith’s portrayal. They killed off the Justice League because shock media and subverting expectations is popular these days. They made it live service because that’s the trendy business model these days. They set it in the Arkhamverse because to appeal to Arkham fans. The whole game, even conceptually, is so insincere and greedy.
Yeah that’s what I think a lot of people are missing and it’s why I think the black Deadshot is actually from a different universe. If he was really the original Deadshot here, he would be known. Considering the fact that the white Deadshot used the name Floyd Lawton, that would mean he would have to somehow know that the black Deadshot was Floyd Lawton. Assuming that is known information, people wouldn’t just believe that a formerly black guy is now white. And considering Floyd Lawton as a character is ex-military, he would be known, even if he had never been caught when he had the mantle of Deadshot originally. My point is, Floyd Lawton isn’t unknown. It’s NOT like the black Deadshot never revealed his identity, so when a white guy came along and took the mantle they didn’t question it. Floyd Lawton would be in the system. If the original Floyd of this verse truly was black, they would know. So somehow the black one has to have been from an alternate universe and somehow he ended up here unknowingly, with his daughter. So it doesn’t seem like an accident, someone from his home universe must have sent them here on purpose for a reason. I hope this gets further explored in future seasons.
This is kinda funnier if you know that in the comics there was a black guy with the same gimmick and a grudge againts Lawton who took him down and took on the Deadshot persona for a bit, wearing a blue Deadshot suit along with it.
Yeah his name is Will Evans. See they could have just used that Deadshot, it would have made sense with the whole "i killed the old Deadshot" plot they've got going on. But nope, gotta try to explain race swapping somehow instead

I disagree. Race swapping just for the sake of race swapping is always super annoying. This is an unnecessary change, but at least they are trying to explain it in universe instead of just basically ignoring continuity.
The problem is when they released the SS game teaser trailer in 2020 that have a black Deadshot, nobody heard of Bloodsport until they announced the different SS movie that they introduced the character in 2021. So you should blame on WB for forced them to make Deadshot black just because Will Smith played the character in that movie (not 2021, the 2016 one)
But it’s not confirmed that the white Deadshot is from an alternate universe. The black one could be. These audio logs are pretty inconclusive on purpose. There’s a larger story at play here that will play out in further seasons.
But none of going back in time has that in the movie. It's all happening at same timeline. Like how Miles father died instead of his uncle and became Prowler.
The real reason Deadshot is black in this game because Will Smith played as the character in that terrible Suicide Squad film. If they made him Bloodsport in this game, thst would've been fine. Hell, they could've just made it that the Deadshot from the Arkham games was the original one and this one either killed the original or he died some other way and took the title of Deadshot.
@@LAGator-qu7tc Bloodsport isn't white and that's the point he was making, if they really wanted to include a black dude. We just fought the Earth 1 one there.
@@berk3857I don’t think the writing is lazy at all. In fact if you really look at all the audio logs and hints from the main game, they set up a lot of storylines that are going to be resolved in future dlc. I think this Deadshot plot is unnecessary, but it’s not badly written and I think making theories is a part of the fun.
It’s the same loophole Disney tried to do with novels that contextualize the many reoccurring problems seen throughout the last jedi, and the final movie. Many bad faith actors who approve of this crap are obviously pretending to not see how lazy this sort of retconning is, especially when the creators are afraid to ever put in on the big screen to solidify its validity, but instead chose the least expensive option lol.

It’s not a token character, they’re doing it to bring in fans of the movie - where they cast Will Smith in the Role, lots of media does this. People thinking this is some sort of token wokeism are just looking for something to be upset about.
If anything, this guy is the phony. OG Deadshot was in Arkham Origins and Arkham City, this guy was in none of them and hadn’t been doing shit during that time. He was retired for the entirety of Batman’s career, dude should be in his 50’s or something
That's sweet baby inc writing for ya they are about diversity so much they just try to retcon the whole this is dead shot and not the white one I swear the writing is terrible everything is terrible
1:24 this whole conversation with his daughter makes him THE BIGGEST jackass in the Arkhamverse, if he was "done" being Deadshot then why tf would he pick up the gun and be Deadshot again because "wannabe" Deadshot is stealing his rep and that'll bring heat to them... It won't, he didn't care about the attention his actions will bring to him and his daughter he just cared about his so called "rep"

Everything is ass The gameplay is *ASS* The story *ASS* The characters *ASS* The environment *ASS* If you like this game good for you, they actually appealed to someone but i despise this
I do wish Deadshot was replaced by Bloodsport because his weapon gimmick is so cool and he shot superman with a kryptonite bullet, so killing him with one would be neat to see.
my headcanon is that the black deadshot got caught early into his criminal career and the very problematic vigilant, William Hell, co-opted the deadshot name to hide his true identity. Could have easily reference the Ostrander run and explained the continuity error without using the multiverse excuse.
My theory was that this guy was an obsessed stalker who copied Deadshot, trained up, got the same gear and then went to become the only deadshot, only when he succeeded he had a compete mental breakdown and now thinks he is Lawton. The dna and prints are an issue, but in a world of glowing hackers and crazy people leaving question marks everywhere I’m sure he could have had the originals data swapped out for his. Everything else is his word, and if he is a delusional murderer, his word isn’t worth much, even to himself.
The only reason they’re adamant on having Arkhamverse is because they genuinely want to disrespect you and your hero’s this is done on purpose. Fucking pissing on a corpse really? (Actually happens to one of the hero’s)
The game's audio files you unlock for Deadshot explains that he retired a long time ago because he wanted to be a better father for his daughter. When he found out that there was someone out there using his name and his skills to be him, aka the Deadshot we know, he came out of retirement and killed that Deadshot. This one in KTJL is the original one. The other is a parallel world Deadshot or a copy cat villain. Which if you know DC as a whole, either one is possible because stuff like this in DC happens all the time.
@youdononeetokno cause he was tracking him down. Him and the other deadshot were literally identical. The game explains all of that. He took so long, because the other deadshot was a literal mimic.
@@aires425imagine having to shill out this obvious last minute continuity error because Sweetbabyinc needed to force in a black person into the squad for ESG purposes. Nevermind that you have a spectrum of other races or ethnicities to chose from, yet apparently the character is black….why? People would still not like the game Arkham verse or not since it would still have bad plot and poor writing. Being connected to Arkham just made it worse for WB
I like to imagine Brainiac was using the OG Deadshot like a Guinea pig as well as a bunch of other heroes(like lady boomerang) during a way earlier invasion of Earth 2, in which Deadshot was thrown into another world, and Brainiac began his plan to dominate multiple worlds, while Deadshot got to live a new life, perhaps the teleportation fried his memory too and that’s why he doesn’t tell anyone, or he does and they think he’s crazy so he decides to move on from that because he thinks Brainiac won’t get to him. I still believe they should have used Bloodsport but with the dumb lore Rocksteady used I think my theory helps things make a bit more sense
So this deadshot got pulled in from another universe then killed the original Arkham deadshot then started having beef with green lantern (also his daughter got pulled in?)
Yeah, I want to believe the deadshot from the Arkham games ended up on the earth of the Suicid Squad game just like Lex Luthor later on and therefore that they are just indirectly connected. Makes no sense anyway cause Deadshot’s first public appearance was in Origins and it’s the supposed « doppleganger » so the one from Suicid Squad cannot be the real if he’s not the first.
I'm all for retcons. I can't help but feel like given the plot of the game this game should've had an Arkham cameo but be set on a different earth than the batman games
Harley: (after the tape 7 conversation) No luck with Lex 2? Deadshot: Luthor is dead set on the poser not coming from his Earth. So that leaves 3 options. He doesn't want to share the whole story. Something he didn't know happened behind his back. Or the poser came from somewhere else.
This isn’t the only time they race swap a character in dc. The original bloodsport was black and than when he went to Stryker his successor became white.
So Deadshot in Suicide Squad is from the multiverse and not the original from Arkham City and Etc. that makes perfect sense given the context of this game
ide argue the og is the one with the comic accurate lore with his daughter zoe where they had a whole canon movie about his arch getting out of prison to be with her. And the fake deadshot is the one who calls himself deadshot with a pallet swap.
This game could have been a beast…if they not decide to scrap it under SBI. They could have make this game into a heist. Stealth or Loud, king shark be a tanker, while Harley doing AOE with explode grenade, deadshot high damage low health, favor charge shot, Cpt Boomerang can teleport, set trap, etc. but no, they make it openworld shooter that was boring.
Rocksteady's desperation to make this character both Black and like Will Smiths Character from the movies is Pathetic. And I'll keep on saying it till people here me. No Self Respecting Arkham fan is going to consider this game Canon.
It definitely seems to me that this isn't the Arkhamverse we knew and is instead just a really similar universe that the Arkham Deadshot somehow ended up in. Both Deadshots are almost identical apart from the skin colour, they have the same blood, finger prints and backstory. And then there's the part about white Deadshot being holed up in a clocktower with enough ammunition to bring down a small nation, was he aware this universe's Deadshot would come after him since they think alike or was he actually about to have one final shootout with the world after finding himself lost in a place that seems similar to home but doesn't include his daughter.
Interesting theory. As much as I have defended and enjoyed this game, I wouldn’t be mad if it takes place in an alternate Arkhamverse if written properly.

On every single level this "game" made absolutely wrong decision.

that's why i h8 this game so much. Once I had my Hulk being even mildly phased by some random normal sized guy with a baton it was over for me, especially because in parallel I played Iron Man game on PC, which was very dogshit looking port from PS2 (while PS3 and Xbox 360 versions existed with adequate graphics) but it had absolutely HUGE (even compared to GTA of same years) maps where you Really get to feel like you playing as character that Has to fly with same speed as jet just to beat level in minutes instead of in hours if it was Avengers' speed.
But man, compared with SSKTJ Avengers is brilliant and has more value. Instead of looking as cheap uninspired Fortnite knock off.

It's the opposite, this Deadshot is the original, the other one is most likely from a parallel world. The game's audio files you unlock for Deadshot explains that. @jennifermontoya1209 they didn't. It's a plot point for the character in the game, and it plays into the story.
@@aires425I honestly doubt that. Luthor even shut him down when Deadshot asked if the white one could’ve been the Earth 2 Deadshot.
He wasn't a fraud though. Just another Deadshot. It's him only difference is race
Batman never noticed that because that was the real Deadshot. Fuck this game
Yeah and when people are saying "this is just another arkham universe" or "this is just a different universe deadshot" I'm questioning if Rocksteady was adamant for this to set after arkham knight you'd think they could've made this character bloodsport.

Arron cash stated himself that the white deadshoot is the one in the database, maybe the black deadshot is convinced he is the original but is not
Yeah that’s what I think a lot of people are missing and it’s why I think the black Deadshot is actually from a different universe.

All this could have been avoided if they just went with Bloodsport
The problem is when they released the SS game teaser trailer in 2020 that have a black Deadshot, nobody heard of Bloodsport until they announced the different SS movie that they introduced the character in 2021.

My first thought seeing him was "He doesn't look like Will Smith" 😂
Should’ve just said the white deadshot was a replacement and when he died he stepped back into the mantle
Not the same thing?
So Deadshot in Suicide Squad is from the multiverse and not the original from Arkham City and Etc. that makes perfect sense given the context of this game
lol he CONFESSES why he's the "original"
They have the posters of Earth 1 and Earth 2 different Flash’s. I think they’re in a weird amalgam world due to Brainiac’s multiversal meddling.
ide argue the og is the one with the comic accurate lore with his daughter zoe where they had a whole canon movie about his arch getting out of prison to be with her. And the fake deadshot is the one who calls himself deadshot with a pallet swap.
It's not like there's another similiar character to deadshot who enjoy engaging in BLOODSPORT in other suicide squad media
So they implying that Batman never figured out that his deadshot was an impostor?
Deadshot? nah thats Unalive Glock
Did anyone else want a joke in game of someone calling Deadshot Will Smith?!
"Oh my god Its Will Smith!"
Then he goes and slaps a cutout of Chris Rock after an audio log
I was thinking that this IS just an Arkham universe. Just a different one, because there are infinite universes.
You know what could have been more interesting, if he was the deadshot from another earth and thought that was his earth and killed the og deadshot.
That could be what they are going for
but if both deadshots are the same then wouldn't their fight always end in a stalemate?
Another reason would be: "Rocksteady wanted to make similar as possible to the movies".
