    Japan survived two nuclear bombings and partial colonialism - They're a clean, powerful and technologically advanced society.
    HongKong was colonized - They're a clean, powerful and technologically advanced society.
    New Zealand was colonized - They're a clean, safe and developed society.
    USA was colonized - A leading superpower on Earth.
    Canada was colonized - They're a clean, safe and developed society.
    Alaska was colonized by Russia, then purchased(or seized) by the USA - They're a clean, safe and developed society.
    Argentina was colonized - It is among the fastest developing societies.
    The list goes on.
    What do all of these have in common besides for stable and/or rising GDPs? They have white people in power. It's no secret that there is a strong division between ethnic groups in South Africa. But let's call a spade a fucking shovel - WHEREVER black people are in rule of a society, corruption and poverty seems to follow. Despite the most obvious(Almost the entirety of Africa) being a testimony and proof to this, we can even take some cities in the USA as examples: Detroit, Baltimore, Philadelphia - ALL under democratic(more so, black political rule) and they are on par with your average deteriorating African metropolis cities that were formerly built and ruled by white/European people.
    It is no secret that European/Western influence and rule creates stable and safe societies. African leaders blatantly sign away mineral rights to China for self-gain. African leaders CANNOT, WILL NOT and HAVE NEVER made the connection between A POWERFUL AND WEALTHY COUNTRY = A POWERFUL AND WEALTHY ME AS A POLITICIAN IN THIS COUNTRY; Zuma is a prime example of this, Mugabe is a prime example of this. Self interest and lack of foresight, instead of investing and developing your country(which would benefit the people and even more so the political leaders of that country) they chose to be corrupt and take what they can for themselves while they had the power to do so.
    Blame colonialism all you want, hence the examples I placed above argue against colonialism being the mother of all suffering as most South African black people believe. In a mineral and resource RICH continent, there is poverty and suffering like no other. Black leaders can't make a comeback to be prominent competitors of good countries in this day and age.
    ---
    Then Ramaphosa talks about land grabbing, land was taken from indigenous South Africans - Demographically speaking, the Bantu people came from the North East of Africa. The ONLY indigenous people within the borders of South Africa and/or Namibia are the Khoisan, they're a very small minority but their bloodlines still exist in the Coloured population of South Africa. So if any land distribution should happen, Coloured people should be the benefactors of it, not Bantu people, not white people, not any other ethnic group - COLOUREDS are the only original people of South Africa.
    Besides for that, there are white farmers that have been on the same land for 5-6 generations. Now, for a group of nomads(Bantu people) who never really settled before western influence, who kept moving their society all the way from North Africa to the Southern part, and never really kept documentation or scriptures of historical events/notions/happenings in your societies - How can you say lands that you used as temporary grounds to stay on(because you were a nomadic society) is yours to claim? Then go claim land all the way from Uganda to here, because at some point in history your ancestors built temporary villages from there to here. Go wage war for your land all within Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya. Go snuff them out too like you're doing with white farmers in South Africa. Go claim your "lands" - because it's the only way your narrow mentality allows you to see progress, is when you can get for free, for self benefit, for self interest.
    Developed societies/countries are making massive technological advances in AI, biotechnology, etc. And we're at a pivot point where soon, we will have to GENUINELY ask ourselves, "What does it mean to be human?" and here Africa is, still stuck in the past. Too focused on what WAS instead of what COULD BE. I see many Africans are soooo proud of the Black Panther movie, Afro-futurism they call it. But the sad part is, you will never actually get to such a sovereign and developed state all by yourselves. In fact, it's been proven that you achieve the polar opposite of such a society when left to your own devices. The game doesn't change, the players need to change to rise to the top. And shame, you guys have always been at the rock bottom when it comes to ethnic power and/or achievements, "the losers of humanity" - so badly that you have to resort to FICTIONAL movies written by white and Jewish Americans to find pride in your ethnicity.
    When there are no more whites left in South Africa, no more food left to eat, no clean water, no electricity and no more proper healthcare. Will you still say "Eish but you know, 40 years ago we ended something called Apartheid and now the ghosts of that era is haunting our society."? Because genuinely, the communist shitbags that made Apartheid and enforced it, are all going to be dead sooner than later. The majority of white people in SA today weren't even able to vote during Apartheid years. But you still blame us for it? I personally wasn't even born in Apartheid, my family isn't wealthy but they got me an education and taught me a very useful skill to survive and that skill is ADAPT TO CHANGE.
    Stop blaming, start changing.

    I have a legitimate question on this. Let's say back in the day when that gentlemen was living in District 6 (1970). The then government came along and forcibly moved those people out of their houses. Destroyed them etc. Now I think in District 6 case most of those houses were never re-built. But lets say they were and now a person comes along in 1980 and they buy the house from the government. Then years later in 2019 they come knocking forcibly removing the next legitimate owners of the house. That doesn't make sense to me. The person that bought the house didn't commit the crime, the then government did. So surely if the government now wants to help these people, they'd have to build a new house, not kick the other people out who bought the house? Am I making sense?

    ANC had 23 years to fix these problems, do they need another 23 years? Telling black people they need the government's helping hand to succeed? Are they saying black people are weak and need help? This will never lead to people taking responsibility for their own future.

    • @anwyllonmusic
      @anwyllonmusic 6 лет назад

      DAB Vapes Dude. 23 years is nothing to centuries of colonial oppression of a people, centuries of White rule which systematically and legally kept black people uneducated to occupy labour work. How do you undo the psychological, economical and educational inequalities that lasted for centuries over 23 years. Man, you have no idea what you are talking about.

    • @alex-ablecnc5828
      @alex-ablecnc5828 6 лет назад

      Anwyll If you want to undo the wrongs of the past you start by forgiving and moving on. By telling people they are victims and everything is apartheids fault, will they ever be encouraged to take responsibility for their life? If you think you know so much, please explain to me why economic empowerment has been such a massive failure. Why are there so many black dropouts if they are so determined to fend for themselves economically, why the distribution of wealth has gotten worse. You're so blinded it makes you say stupid things. Let the black community get its dignity back and stop treating it like a special child.

    I think one of the biggest issues is this: BEE has failed! It's idea was great but it's implementation only served to enrich a few handful of our black brothers. Greed and Corruption, the Love of money amongst our black brothers, made sure that BEE benefits never reached those even poorer Black brothers, to whom it was actually intended! I think the ANC needs to acknowledge that BEE has failed and change it in such a way to ensure that it can only truly benefit those to whom it is intended which is the poorest of the poor black people, not the Middle or upper class black people! Guys - I am not racists in saying this, but since South-Africans seem incapable of putting the issue of race to bed, let's call it exactly as it is. BEE has benefited and is still benefiting the Black Middle- and upper -class people more than it is benefiting those to whom it is actually intended. And all the while BEE is failing, a hand full of black brothers are laughing all the way to the bank while the vast majoroty of their impoverished black brothers suffer. The ANC had plenty of time already to make amends but unprecedented corruption within their own ranks have actually caused ALL OF US, White and Black, to move further backwards than what we have managed to move forwards! Guys, greed amongst ourselves and this feeling of entitlement (for both Whites and Blacks) will get us nowhere! We need to become open to really want to help one another. Having said that... There are also many in this country who do not want to be helped, or don't know what to do with the help they are getting. I talk from experience; I have tried and failed. The persons in question accepted my gifts which where more than enough to get them out of their situations and return them to their families... but within two days they where right back in the same situation they where in before. It is really disheartening to see this. But, I will try to make an effort not give up and continue to help where I can. I would like other South Africans, be they Black or White to try and see where they can start helping others too. If the Government wants to buy land back for a certain black Brother, let them do so...Give this guy 5 to 10 years to show that he can be productive on the land and if not, let him sell the land to someone who can be productive. The ANC Government inherited the funds from the Taxpayers of this country! let them use these funds to get things done right once and for all! O WAIT... That money's been squandered, I wonder by whom! (The ANC perhaps???) So Let's give CR some time and see if he can make the money from the taxpayers work for this country before they all leave and this place is left with nothing. I think a good place to start is, FIX BEE. There is not point in accelerating a broken vehicle. Fix it first before you go racing!

      What does that even mean? The man's saying that there are clear causal links between poverty and deprivation now, and land disposition and unequal liberties back then (in apartheid). He's saying that we should keep that in mind as we work our way through leveling the playing field between the unadvantaged and the advantaged, since those categories are the outcomes of tragic historical unequal political treatment. Of course he has to discriminate then between them as a practical and progressive matter, whether or not they fall under racial lines (which they in fact do), but you're unfairly implying that his discrimination is an unjust one

    White South Africa has long since been ready to accept black people into the job market at the highest level. Unfortunately, many whom have been gifted jobs, whether through pressure or to fill quotas...or whatever other reason...some have accelerated yes...BUT MANY have ended up in a situation where they are totally out of their depth and under performing on ridiculous levels. You don't transform a country by taking what you haven't earned. You start at the bottom and provide education...and then you appoint on merit...not color... So many jokers in government with 0% education....At least this one can read numbers, so based on that, at least you're on the right track.

    Take land without compensation? When there were money for land reform it was misappropriated and the leaders helped themselves with the budgeted money and always the blame is passed to the white farmers not playing ball (Vrede dairy farm is probably just the tip of the iceberg). Mr Ramaphosa is obviously a genuine man with integrity, the best leader we could have hoped for. It is just very difficult to keep everyone happy in a multiracial society. Taking private property however will not fly, how on earth will this get pulled off without pain, tears and bloodshed? Land and property have been acquired legally and the tendency to blame ancestors for things that they have done is primitive and unrealistic. All opportunities in South Africa are currently exclusive to African people, work and prosper and buy some land. You always talk about your people, only Africans are referred to, stop giving them everything for free and rather teach them to earn !!!

Also he picks on unemployment rate being higher to blacks compared to whites- is he also considering population? Cause it will at least one full generation to grow out in order to make things balanced. People of colour were forced into situations where they were cornered into situations where they could not get an education so the solution was to send children to work in farms etc. When apartheid ended, this did not change for most black families, most of them remained in isolated farm areas because they never had money and just because apartheid ended does not mean they just landed on a pile of cash. This period is being used to clear out the born frees and balance the scales again. I personally think the system is currently too harsh on whites but in about 10 years I forsee things getting more lenient in terms of any form of Affirmitive Action

Finally over the last couple of days I can see someone in charge who commands respect just by the way he speaks and his presence. I hope that continues.
      I am not from south Africa but I'll be visiting south Africa some time next year with a few of colleges from work. I can't wait to get there

    The truth is even though the black Africans, who are the original owners of South Africa got independence, they still don't own the country. The President is speaking the truth, however the question is, what's causing the Black Africans to still be behind in all aspects of life in South Africa ? The president can't look at whites as if they are more intelligent than Africans and thats why they lead in all angles of life in South Africa. The Black Africans simple had no opportunity offered to them as far as education is concerned and without that, how do you expect them to be leaders in economics, education and other areas in South Africa ? I am sorry to say this but South Africa needs better leaders to lead the young Black South Africans. That's where i see the main problem is. President Cyril Ramaphosa took over from President Zuma but i truly don't see a big difference between them.

    South Africa, Marxist economy/society at its best !!! We need equality of opportunity and not equality of outcome. You want to take away from the minority(8%) and think it will solve the problem of the majority(80%). I'm one of those white people that will leave this country in a heartbeat, not because I don't love this beautiful land and all it has to offer, no, but because there will never be peace in the people's hearts. I understand that Apartheid did a lot of damage and I hate the whites that enforced it just as much as anyone, because they not only stole the future of those people living in those times but all our futures black and white, past and present. But now by we are just enforcing the same wrongs from the past onto the future and that will not lead this country forward. Just sorting out the corruption in S.A will allow enough capital to develop and compensate those who were disadvantaged like mr. Cedric. Zuma cost the people R1trillion in 10 years !!! Imagine if that capital could've gone to the people. Lets be honest here, the MAJORITY that advocate for land redistribution would rather have money in their pocket to do with it as they see fit than to kick off white people from farms and occupy the land to farm. Most city dwellers would not like it on a farm, myself included.
    Once the land is handed over to the "rightful"owners they fight amongst each other over which tribe the land belonged to first!!!
    BUT to whom does the land really belong to ???? If we look at the history the Khoisan were in Southern Africa first. So do we give it back to the blacks or the coloureds?
    Everybody needs to read up on history and you will find one common denominator - THE WORLD WAS RULED BY CONQUEST AND CONQUER. Whether it was two people fighting for a prime spot under a tree for the best shade, Two tribes in Kwazulu-Natal over land for cattle to feed, Roman empire, Egypt etc.
    The world hundreds or thousands of years ago was very different, BRUTAL , those same standards do not apply today.
    Poor educated societies are more prone to violence.
    What if we populated Mars in the next 500 years and built big beautiful cities and then the Martians-"rightful owners"-one day return to their planet? Will we compensate them? Will we expropriate the land? Will we hand over the planet as is or do we give it to them as we found it?
    In the cosmos of time this is all but a fart in the wind...

    I am an ardent supporter of equality, I don't see colour, just another person. But the question still needs to asked, "why do young blacks not fare well in education?" Several years ago two studies were undertaken at universities of young student volunteers to take tests including I.Q tests, the results were quite astounding. They showed that whites had a 10 to 15% higher pass mark compared to that of blacks. These tests were empirical, and the facts spoke for themselves. If, as is now fast becoming the case, blacks are given preferential treatment it doesn't take an Einstein to realise the shortfall of employment and the consequences to achievement and success. I helped my family in every way I could with their education including computers and money, so it's not that I didn't play my part as a family elder. The proof of the pudding is always in the eating. And before anyone starts calling me a racist, I am married to a black Xhosa woman whom I married in South Africa. Also I worked hard to put myself through university.

      Khanyisa Biko if you have to ask that question you have not been living in SA ???? No other country has BEE against a minority but SA has. We are denied public housing , jobs , study grants because of our skin color or lack there of , what do you call it ? correcting the past?? No it's reverse apartheid , but you what history shows us that it will be reversed again because your people are destroyers , not builders you chase your own people out from their country , you have been doing this long before the white man came. The world is getting too small for the black nations , borders are closing because people have eyes on SA and they know that their country will be next the moment you became the majority because it's not in your culture to share and integrate. You will perish on this small continent of ours like the Romans and every civilization that failed to adapt. If you do not learn from the past , you are doomed to repeat it. That is the difference between the Afrikaaner and the black man we are God fearing and in him lies our strength, not the ANC who will be the downfall of SA. What we were fighting against in apartheid was communism which your nation had embraced. Look at our country after 21 years of Marxism is it working , have we really progressed or is it only the jailer that has changed. Is this what you want for your children ??? Have we learned nothing from Zimbabwe. Does the tree not have a brown truck , green leaves and many colored fruit , then why can't man except the many colors it is how God intended it. Do you not see when you don't learn from the past , you end up there every time. You speak of remembering the pain and that is why you are doomed to inflicting more on your people. The Afrikaaner takes his pain and let's it mold him into a better human been, not gripe about it for centuries and want redress , regress is just another word for revenge. You can't build a nation on revenge. No we Afrikaaners will be here after you have long gone, we are like the tree in harmony with Gods creation and word.

    • @sas_za6305
      @sas_za6305 6 лет назад +3

      LAM 101, forgetting the past is never a good idea. However its usually the case that politicians keep talking about the past to hide what they are doing now. Robert Mugabe kept wanting everybody to see him as a hero of the revolution. Not as the dictator who squandered money, lived like a king and enriched himself at the expense of his own people. He was responsible for destroying the economy of Zimbabwe and making his people poor and hungry. Previously one of the most productive countries in africa, it ended up having to import food to survive. He also undermined democracy and either killed or bullied his political opponents. He did this while reminding everyone about how he helped them escape white rule. Its like saving people from a burning building and then stealing from them every day for the rest of their lives. Then stealing from their children every day, and so on. A bit like keeping your own people in slavery. If they want a better life, they leave Zimbabwe and go to South Africa. Like many did.
      The ANC has been doing the same thing for years. Mr Ramaphosa is one of the richest men in South Africa. Keep in mind that his personal wealth has been built up in the last 20 years. It has been built on the back of BEE policies. If those policies were really aimed at "broad based black economic empowerment" then how is it that we see a few black businessmen become billionaires on the back of those policies? How exactly is it "broad based". I dont see the average mine worker or domestic worker, or gardener benefitting one bit from these policies. They are exactly where they were.
      Yet it is their poverty that is used to justify the likes of Mr Ramaphosa getting VERY rich. So one has to ask the obvious question, are we focussing too much on the past at the expense of focussing on the present. Look at what is happening right in front of you. Are you a billionaire? Why not? What about a millionaire? If not, then why not? Cyril is. Would you still say that he is "previously disadvantaged" and in need of special legislation to benefit him so that he is uplifted from a legacy of poverty? Because that is exactly what they want you to believe. While he drives around in luxury cars and enjoys a life that less than 0.01% of the people on the planet have.

The past is the "anchor" holding this country back, and not allowing us to move forward. Instead of taking away land, by compensation or not, why not compensate those who were wronged? Thereby addressing the issue!

    • @siviwesigwela1
      @siviwesigwela1 6 лет назад

      Lance, my friend this is a serious issue, it needs to be addresses. Africans are growing in number and they are realising their right to be Africans. From Cape Town to Cairo, we all know every white person came here by ships and planes to dispossess what used to be said to be a dark continent. Things have changed now, those who were in the dark are in the light now. Blacks have risen and I believe by the grace of God who wants all men to be equal.Its wrong for Africans to not own more land than whites in South Africa. No Blacks own more land than Europeans in Europe or in China amongst Chinese. Now the will of the people says land must be given back and where there is a will there is a way. All the President is saying, lets see the vision and walk towards it in the spirit of the constitution.

    A man can talk about "South Africa belongs to all who live in it," and talk about a constitution and then go on to state he will be amending the constitution to take land from one person and give it to another without any compensation how I ask you ?
    What happened to the land of Madiba were we all worked together hand in hand to a better nation rather than using force buy politics why can the Black people of south Africa not rise up with the whites and hand in had with the same rule same opportunity and same democracy forge our way further or are Black South Africans so stuck in the oppressed mindset of the past ? We are all the same why on earth separate us by colour and creed If you teach a man to fish he eats for a life time but if you give him one he eats for a day if you give all Black South Africans Food and Grants and Educations then what is the motivation? Make life harder for White south Africans and we will thrive the British starved us in camps and we survived.
    the point of all this is Im not saying things arn't hard for Black South Africans but the harder you work the greater the reward. SO why cant we all just work hard together.

    We as white young South Africans are treated unfairly when it comes to employment. The difference comes in, we are the minority and blacks are the majority, so of course, the employment percentages would be lower than the majority...

    Ehhhhh woow !!! What a great plan , I’m an economist but this is great .. he said in short ; we acknowledge and recognize that apartheid has impacted racial inequality then and now but because white people own land , lets use that to develop poor black lives as a ransom for the “sin” woooooow!!! And also of course white people who own it will benefit from it “rather as an opportunity and not a threat” wooooow !!!!!!! Greatest idea ever 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 execution is a different story doe

      Victor Mendes to say Whites work harder whether if you really believe it, is wrong. In places of work, I found that highly qualified blacks tend to progress slower than whites with similar or much less qualification. Most companies whether private or parastatal whose top management or middle management is almost always white, give business exclusively to whites. Blacks have to work 10 times as hard as whites to even start seeing any progress whether at work or in entrepreneurship.

    That's because we whites are only 8 % of the population , that's why every white person knows at least 20 whites that are unemployed go sell your BS somewhere else. That is why as well educated as I am I have to work in another country because my skin color bars me from working here. As long as you keep on playing to your base nothing will change. Let's get somethings straight the land was not taken from you , the black people that populate our land now was not here when Jannie landed by all means give the land back to the San people. Keep on with narrative and you are going to lose your tax payers. 16000 are leaving daily. Just think where ever country would be if it harped on giving the land back to the conquered you can't turn back time. That's a recipe for disaster. Why don't you bring all blacks back from America , England etc . Our white families have been here since 1652 A lot of the land was given in treaties not " taken" District 6 was taken by land without compensation. My mother a white lost her property in District 6 in the 60 so you going to compensate me and my siblings she lost not only her house but her business as well. A shop in Hanover Street. ???????????????????

      Kagiso Mabele You are not very bright are you ? That's black , White and Coloreds leaving the country , people with much needed skills. Let's see what happens when the brain drain is complete. We already don't have water in Cape Town , next is Eastern Cape and Northern. But no " you want the land" Enjoy your " Zimbabwe " because it's only a matter of time. No other country has BEE against a minority but SA has. You keep on shouting about apartheid and the evils , but what ANC does is exactly the same. One day there will be a truth hearing for what they are doing because history shows us the wheel always turns. Your people are destroyers , not builders. You chase your people out everywhere the world is getting to small for you countries are closing their borders to black migration with good reason , you don't want to share , you want it all. That will be your downfall. You call us racist !!! Your people are the racist. You have been exterminating other tribes for centuries long before we got here. You will eventual perish just like the Romans and every civilization that did not adapt.

White people have shown a lack of accountability and empathy for the injustices of the past, like Apartheid was just a bad holiday. This country belongs to all of us however we need correct the injustices that's all.

      Kagiso Mabele What do you call not getting a job because you are white , no food aid because you are white even though you are dirt poor , no housing shall I go on quota systems at work , at university. These are not things we think happens they happen and they are not shy to tell you why ??? Why do we still have to tick race blocks on forms ????? You are in denial because you are part of the problem. I would happily share SA with all races as long as we all have equal opportunity. I work in UK to help support my family because of BEE and affirmative action. Please don't preach to the choir I lived through apartheid and know first hand what it looks like , it's the same only they had different terminologies. I voted yes in the vote not realizing what your people idea was , I marched for UDF. This is not what I fought for.

    In the states whites don't hire blacks unless they want to fill a quota. Mexican employers hire Mexicans , most are being deported, so they become territorial about cities ,and neighborhood's . Homeless populations are growing, because of high rentals, and scarce housing. The greedy continue to rob the poor by over priced values of the politics of living.
    Black people suffer for lack of economic growth, and racism of American politics. There are young blacks in homeless encampments, poor whites hooked on drugs, and wealthy whites live in luxury high rise buildings making six figures. Homeless people are criminalized for being homeless people. All happening in America. It's not that better here either.

      It's true. Land does not belong to black people in general. Everyone who paid for land and their homes have a right to live there. Everyone will evenetually die. Nothing on earth belongs to you when it comes to nature. That's why this land grab will cause civil war and the help of USA will make it a huge war.
