TRIP REPORT | This is Emirates Low-Cost Airline | Krakow to Dubai | FlyDubai Boeing 737 MAX

- FlyDubai Trip Report flying from Krakow to Dubai onboard one of the new FlyDubai Boeing 737 MAX on a beautiful summer morning.
This was my first time flying with FlyDubai, and it will probably be the last one. FlyDubai advertises itself as a low-cost airline but they are far from being that. Wizzair AbuDhabi is a low-cost. FlyDubai is a hybrid: not low prices but a very poor service. The only difference in positive with a low-cost are the screens on the seats, but still you have to pay to use its content.
With a 30-minute delay, we took off from Krakow and quickly made an almost 180° turn to the left, towards the Tatry Mountains, to start our route to Dubai. We crossed the mountains and flew towards Košice, in Slovakia. We then flew over Hungary and Romania. We reached the Black Sea over Constanta and flew towards Türkiye.
We crossed all Türkiye from west to east, enjoying some of the most amazing views of the mountains and lakes I've ever had. From there we turned right and entered Iran. We flew all the way down until reaching the Persian Gulf, already close to Dubai, where we landed around 20 minutes late.
The onboard service is terrible. That's the only way to describe it. You can buy a warm meal on the website (without knowing what it's gonna be) and what you get is just that plate and 100ml of water. The size of the warm plate is ridiculous. I think it is not even enough for a kid. The onboard menu has nothing but trash food and alcohol. Prepare yourself to starve on a FlyDubai flight.
All in all, a quite bad experience with FluDubai but a really amazing flight in terms of what we saw through the window. The contrast is even stronger when you realize that the owner of FlyDubai is the same as Emirates. In fact, they are partner airlines... They are day and night. I was expecting much more from FlyDubai. Probably because the prices are in the region of the Emirates ones... What a disappointment of an airline. I'm sorry for the negativity, but never again with them.

The idea of a low cost airline that is owned by a larger airline is to make the experience rubbish and then make you consider flying their larger carrier in this case emirates. Another great video.👍👍 🇦🇪
Emirates doesn't fly to Krakow. Qatar Airways flies to Warsaw ( as does Emirates), however, the former is cheaper and provides better onboard service.
Flydubai isn’t owned by Emirates, it’s owned by the government just like Emirates is. Also, FlyDubai is a little different in the idea that it’s mainly meant to fly routes that Emirates doesn’t fly to or support them in markets served by them.
@@thespinach8215 FlyDubai merged with Emirates Airlines not too long ago. It's a horrible low cost carrier with first class fares.
Not an option for certain markets which don't receive mainline EK service due to poor yields and market viability

In your opinion, what is the quietest zone in the 737 and A320? In front of the engines, behind the wing (at the rear) or maybe on the wing?

Always great and fair content. There are lots of channels reviewing airlines and airliners, but in my opinion your reviews are always really interesting: they are not over critical, but fair.

Believe me, there's nothing than makes me more happy than making those video sin which everything is amazing onboard. And certainly, there are many flights that feel that way for me. But in this case, it just wasn't. And even that way, I think it was a very soft way to say it, both on the video and on thumbnail.

Bueno, está pendiente de que le den la autorización para volar entre 2 terceros países (USA y Colombia), pero en caso de obtenerla, sería una gran noticia, sin duda.
Si muy bonito pero Emirates es otro mundo viajar con ellos, te lo digo por experiencia siempre voy en Tailandia con Emirates con escalo a Dubai desde Italia el servicio es impecable tbn en clase economy !

Yo tambien volé en un Max8 de Buenos aires a Santiago aunque nada que ver un 737 de FlyDubai con uno de Aerolíneas Argentinas. Por cierto tus vídeos son los mejores!!🫶🏼

I like FlyDubai - but I know what to expect from a low cost carrier so I am always happy and relaxed aboard. Will always fly with them again.

Un vídeo interesante para conocer nueva aerolínea nada mas, quizás esperabas algo mas de calidad en la comida aun siendo una compañía low-cost y la verdad así ha sido menos mal que nos has regalado esas vistas bonitas sobre Turquía y demás sitios por donde vuelas , y es una pena lo del lago ese que este así ojalá lo recuperen. Pero bueno es otra experiencia que te llevas nada buena de esa aerolínea claro. Un cordial saludo y buen finde semana.

La verdad es que esperaba en general un mejor servicio (y en particular, una mejor comida). El precio que ponen en esta ruta es basicamente el mismo que pone Emirates en rutas similares (como Varsovia-Dubai) y vemos, claramente, que el servicio está a años luz...
En fin, me alegra que te haya gustado este Trip Report! El proximo va a ser muy diferente a este :))

Hola Lucas, no hubo turbulencia cruzando las nubes y lluvia al despegue: cumuloninbus siendo generalmente estaticas, sin vientos, porque la turbulencia severa? O me equivoco??

I agree with you. We can say, that Flydubai is better LCC, but nothing speccial in catering. Btw. My favourite part of every trip report is catering. 😂 See you next week!
The thing is that the fare price for this flight is basically the same as if Emirates would be operating it.
You can check for any day the prices on the route KRK-DXB operated by flydubai and WAW-DXB operated by Emirates. You'll see the difference is not the difference that you get onboard.

Sure, the correct thing would be to stay 6h without eating, at lunch time, when I payed for the food.

I can't remember... but I would say yes; most probably during the check-in at the airport.

Just a suggestion, it would be nice if you also post the outside temperature of the destination after landing. By the way, your videos are great. Gives a real life experience with no clutter.
Mmm the outside temperature it's almost always said by the cabin crew on the after landing msg, but yeah, it could be something nice to add during the landing roll. Currently, that's a moment of the videos in which I don't say anything, so yeah, I'll think about it.

Yeah. Full fare carriers should keep the hell away from trying to do an LCC. They just don't get it. Having a LLC doesn't necessarily mean it has to be crap.

Bueno no se cuanto te a costado este vuelo pero yo de Europa a Dubai con un vuelo low cost como esto muchas horas no lo voy a tomar además los asientos que no pueden inclinar ,la comida dejamos perder los comentarios tu a tenido mucho coraje ,esto sirve a informar las personas que van tomar este tipo de aereo..un saludo desde italia

Nice cozy Krakow airport terminal, great views from above and the flight distance was somewhere close to or at the maximum range of the 737 MAX. The people who object to the 321XLR would probably already go nuts on this flight.

The question I have now is that if travelers now must do some research if the low-cost / budget airline is low cost for the passengers or low cost for the airline. 😂
Mmm The range of the MAX is around 6.000-6.500km, so there still a lot. In fact, FlyDubai could fly almost anywhere in Europe with the MAX.
The thing is that the price Flydubai puts on this route is basically the same as an Emirates fare.
Oh yes, my mistake. Somehow I remembered a flight distance of 4.000 miles instead of 4.000 km. Great that you use the metric system. 😄

I think the interior of this aircraft looks absolutely gorgeous with massive seatback televisions. I find it hard to believe this is a low cost airline. On the other hand, the food looks basic but then again, it is a low cost carrier, so what do you expect ? You can pay for extra food.

What are the price comparisons between emirates and flydubai in different price?
On this route, the price was basically the same as an Emirates price would be. That day, the price was the same with flydubai KRK-DXB than Emirates WAW-DXB.

Emirates but Flying the 737 MAX 8 and 737-800NG!
You may not WANT to travel on FlyDubai again, but you may have to. Although it's NOT an Emirates subsidiary and the two companies have totally independent management, they are both owned by the Dubai government and are subject to some central planning and division of routes determined by the government. They also have facilitated interline connections, and while they do overlap on some very busy routes, more often than not FlyDubai and its current all-737 fleet will serve destinations that wouldn't be profitable to serve with Emirates' huge 777s and A380s (KRK is such an example, and that airport probably couldn't even accommodate such big jets anyway). It serves the same purpose of Qatar's and Etihad's A320 fleets, but in Dubai they decided to split these operations between different airlines.
Of course, the equipment that FlyDubai currently operates also limits its range (though it has 787s on order, and I don't know what to make out of it yet), but it still has such an extensive network covering from Europe to East Africa and Central and Southeast Asia that depending on your route, you may HAVE to fly it again, even if it's a FlyDubai/Emirates combined connection.
Well, based on this expereince, it's not my intention to fly with them again... the crew wasn't very polite, the food was the worst in years, and the onboard service is definitely not worth the price they put on their tickets...
QR an EY offer the same service on those A320/21 routes, Flydubai what offers is aquite high price for a terrible service... At least, on my flight.
I'm not saying that I might have to fly them again in the future... in fact, if they change, I could do it... but nowadays there are many options to fly basically everywhere, so it won't be necessary to do it if wouldn't want.
I hope didn't pay much for that meal. I'd be craving a salad 🥗 after all that 😊

Worse than that only those microwave meals on other carriers that don't make pre-ordered meals 😂, last time with TAP I literally got surprised on how bad were those Bolognese raviolis of them 😅

As I have said before MR you get what you pay for, but low cost airlines bleed you for extras all the time, that’s why I like Malaysia airlines ( Malaysia) yes it’s a bit more money but, the very 1st time I flew to Malaysia, from Manchester England, Doha, from Doha to KL, from KL to Kuching Sarawak, it was Malaysian airlines, they were AMAZING cabin crew were SO HELPFUL n the food n drink were very good 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I think FlyDubai is still better than Scoot and Jetstar
I can't talk for Jetstar. I've seen their planes many times parked at the airports I was, but I've never flown with them yet. About Scoot... well, the cabin for sure was much better, but the onboard service... I had better food on my BER-ATH flight than on this one with Flydubai.
In my opinion low cost airlines catering, in flight entertainment, seat comfort etc etc will never be the same as a full fare carrier, there will be notable differences, so you cannot expect FlyDubai to offer the same level services as Emirates their full fare flag carrier and its not just Emirates and FlyDubai, its the same for all carriers that has a low fare counterpart eg Qantas and JetStar, same thing again. I will not say airlines would use this as an excuse just for someone to next time choose their full cost airline. For starters destinations could be different and everyone makes their own choices, which airline and whether to pay more for a full fare flight or low cost.
Well, check the catering in Pegasus or Anadolujet (both available on the channel) and see how caterkng can be good on low-cost airlines when you pay for it :)

I had been on low-cost airliners that are treated like major airlines: Southwest, JetBlue, and Alaska airlines.
However, most low-cost airlines charge the same airfare as major airlines do, except they also make you pay for drinks, snacks, and a carryon bag.
In Europe there are many airlines that call themselves "low-cost" but there are just 2 real low-cost airlines: Ryanair and Wizz.
