Fantastic programming skills "williamenroh", makes me look like an amateur. I have come across this video a few times before but never commented. Thank you for this, much appreciated!!! I never understand why people leave thumbs down on people's videos, I just generally walk away if it's not my thing or it isn't very good. That person has still spent their time and effort to upload a video, no need to put people down :-)
Superb demo and I was so amazed to see all that fantastic vintage analogue drum machine sounds can be made just with MS2000 on its own.I also like the music you make.
This is very educational and encouraging. I bought one of these (my fourth synth) a month ago but I still haven't got round to reading much of the manual - I'm neck deep in work. I've found it harder to programme than my other analogue synths, so this is very helpful. Long live analogue (modelling) synths.
I'm thinking about re-doing this, as I've come along way in how to present information and video. Unfortunately, I don't have an MS2000 anymore. If someone in the Bay Area can lend me one (I can lend a similarly priced synth in return), then I'll remake it.
I would just like to thank you for sharing this video. And, I'm voting it as best MS2000 video I've seen yet on RUclips. Awesome awesome AWESOME. Now I can't wait to get home tonight and try this on my MS2000BR. This is my favorite synth that I've ever owned.
Thank you, Professor! I know less than nothing about making music (I play the radio) but it was very interesting to see how much thought and creativity goes into creating sounds on a synth.
ha ha ha, brilliant. My poor MS2000 is gonna be dusted off and some new life breathed into it. I always knew I was only getting 20% out of it. But its very easy (in a multi keyboard set up) just to use it for an individual sound and leave it at that. It deserves a lot more attention. Thanks for posting.
I appreciate the critique - the latest video is a lot more graphic friendly, and I changed the pacing so that it isn't quite as fast as this video. I probably won't be able to remake this one, since I'd rather move forward with new material - but if I have the time I'll certainly consider it. I'm working on new music material now. I have a vacation planned soon during which I plan to write a whole lot of music for an upcoming album. Stuff prior to this is a bit too embarrassing to share.
And, I absolutely love this video. I had no idea what my Korg was capable of until I watched this video! And who the eff gave this video 2 thumbs down?!? How can you NOT like this???
Damn this is my favorite ms2000 video yet! I wonder if u can do this all still within the ms2000r...there are 3 sequencers so I'm sure u can just have to know how to work the sequencers properly...
Wow, thank you! This was really helpful. I'll set up a drum machine patch on my microkorg right now. It's a shame you can't control the timbres individually on the microkorg, but it'll still be fun.
wow, that's an amazing video. I have a MS2000B but mainly play jazz (acoustic) piano. Your video was really inspiring for me. Thanks and I'll be subscribing to your channel! Cheers,Geoff
Yes and no. You can create the drums on one timbre, and use the other timbre for bass/lead, but you can't do the drum sequencing since the microKorg doesn't have a mod sequencer. You'd have to sequence it externally. You can do it on a Korg R3, but you're slightly limited since it has fewer mod sequence tracks.
HELP PLEASE! I have done drums on it but have a problem with sequence 2 to change it for volume mode, when I pressed + it changed sound in bank, and I have lost those drums sounds :/
I'm a little confuse: first I'm new with synths. Anyway: I couldn't get the first step: going to the utility, then the confirmation (Y or N), when I tried to change the OSC1 to sinus wave the confirmation ask again (y and N) and the return to the first wave! I know you're a busy guy, but...I am missing something? Btw, I have the 2000R version. If you could be so kind I'll appreciate the response. Thanks
You forgot to mention to squeeze the ms2k output into a fat compressor or something. I have an ms2k and tried it, didn't sound like that till I compressed the f out of it :D Great vid tho!
Dude, this is genius. While I agree the demo runs too fast for the beginner, there always is the pause button. Too bad the video quality is so poor... do it again in HD lol.
I have a Korg MS2000 and this is the coolest tutorial I ever saw for it. I'll certainly try it out. thanks!
How amazing!!!! How cool--- Never knew my lovely MS2000 could do this!!! Thank you!

Dear uploader, these are incredibly clever moves with the sound here, with very sensible words to match them. Thanks a lot for the video.
I just learned more from you about synths in 10 minutes, than I have in a year of twiddling knobs on my own... Thank you!!!!
I always wondered how some of those preset drum + lead patches worked, thank you for this!

This is amazing! I'm now convinced the ms 2000 is my synth

whoa whoa whoa at 2:30 you really brought out the tricks I never expected. amazing vid, well done sound design
i just brought my korg back from the dead and tried doing this among many other things
i have a new appreciation of this little machine

Spectacular video !

that's awesome. I've had my ms2000 rack for almost 2 years but I've hardly used it. I think it's ready for some more use.
That was some pretty good programing. I can't wait to try this.
wow awsome
i don't have a korg but this was interesting to watch.
you know your stuff.
great job
I miss the 2000s :D
Brilliant!
Amazing. I must fire up my MS2000 and try.
Damn this is my favorite ms2000 video yet!

I always wonder how you would make a drum sound on the the MS2000. Thank you for this very helpful tip!
Thanks. I follow the same steps for alchemy VST, instant analog drum machine sound on a vst... insane...
Nice idea. I think keyboard tracking is very underrated!
Good video I never used an MS2000. Now I have a better understanding of the Korg Radias.
cheers.
Wow, thank you! This was really helpful. I'll set up a drum machine patch on my microkorg right now. It's a shame you can't control the timbres individually on the microkorg, but it'll still be fun.
Excellent!
Magic! Thanks very much for making this, I have used it to do this on my microKORG.
I was just about to throw out my ms2000 but now it’s useful again 😃
great tutorial

Thanks for this, I was wondering how this was done...thank you keyboard tracking!
I'm gonna use this knowledge with my other synths

great stuff.
great tutorial my friend!
just bought one on ebay, cant wait for it to arrive!!!
thank you, faithful synth android explainer
I dig the creepy Max Headrome face
HELP PLEASE!
I have done drums on it but have a problem with sequence 2 to change it for volume mode, when I pressed + it changed sound in bank, and I have lost those drums sounds :/
Genius
great
brilliant!

Can you do this with a Microkorg?. I've heard that Microkorg is a smaller version of the MS-2000.
Sir you are bad ass love it
Génial !
Very gooood!
cool.. nice job
so smart. I dig it haha
Wow. That even made sense to me, and all I do is keep the cats out of the tube sets around here.
this is awsome!!! thank you so much!!!!
You forgot to mention to squeeze the ms2k output into a fat compressor or something. I have an ms2k and tried it, didn't sound like that till I compressed the f out of it :D Great vid tho!
since the microkorg is esentially an ms2k and can use the same patches, can this be done on the microkorg?
How come my MS2000 doesn't sound like an analogue synth, like this one does?? it's the same one! You should route it through fx/EQ?
wow! that´s great! really!
I don't know why, but the last song that you play in this video reminds me of Trash80.net - related in any way?
I can't get the mod sequencer to behave like an arpeggiater, any help with this?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
damn thats cool i wish i had one of those :(
Wow
Don't use too much of that sinus wave, it can start to sound a bit nasal ;-)
Great tute ……
thanx alot!!
for real this is fucking cool, gonna try this, too... i'm excited how my waldorf q gonna sound like......:-)))
Holy crap, man. You certainly know your shit. /me pick up jaw off the floor and go to my ms2k
Thank you!
Dude, this is genius. While I agree the demo runs too fast for the beginner, there always is the pause button. Too bad the video quality is so poor... do it again in HD lol.
Damn, I just sold my ms2000 and kept my microkorg. D'oh!
I wish i hadn t sold mine
you sell them
0:20 fucking epic lol

Amazing programming, but souns kinda weak.
