I love how your videos aren't "fluff" and more functional. You nailed it. Setting up a bullet journal IS stressful. It takes too much time and although I love seeing the final product of creative people, I don't have an ounce of creativity in me. I've read Ryders book at least twice and your video very clearly explained the process. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Dena! It can get stressful to set up a bujo, right? I love watching all the creative videos too. But the method works best in a simpler form for me, specially as my work planner🤓
Yes, I agree -- this was a very useful video to watch and very refreshing to see someone who is quite busy adapting the bujo method to an existing planner layout. Doing it this way seems to streamline the whole process -- you don't have to really think about how you're setting it up (other than the categorization of your bulleted items etc.) -- and it actually seems like one of the videos that is closest to Ryder Carroll's original concept. Bravo!
I like how you’re using some of the techniques form bullet journal method book to your Hobonichi :). It keeps everything so simple to keep of trackers and ideas too!
it's great when you plan and complete. Most i put into the planner doesn't get done, this then makes me think... do what you can in the limited time you have.
You look like you get a lot of info in such a small book.. I'd run out of room do quickly but I'm bad at shorthanding things. Side note your tattoo is beautiful!!
I really want to read the bujo book, im using the method but im still adapting and deciding what work for me or not. One thing that im using now and it works for me a lot is separating events and tasks, i do atempt the more artistic side of bujo, but not that overboard, i just love stationery too much so i get an excuse to use my pens, washi and all xD. What i do is that in my weekly spread i have a box for each day that is basically events, in the context of online classes, i have all the sync classes, due dates for assignments, appointments that kind of stuff, and then i make a super generic list of tasks that doesnt have a particular day to be done, cause i was putting certains tasks in a specific day and found myself having to write it down all the time due to procrastination or having to prioritize something else. The tasks i separate it with a " - " as its the "title" and underneath it i put the bullets with the steps that i need to do to finish it. The sense of progression helps me stay motivated and feel productive!
Oh yes!!! So many great ideas! This bigs of things is so important (aka: inventory). Yes yes! And if you love to set nice spreads, plese do it!!!🙌🏽 creativity is so important👏🏽👏🏽 and having something cool to look at is for sure a way to keep using it. And a nice thing about this method is the flexibility! We get what we want from it!
I found your video looking for where I'm gonna put my BuJo Index in my Hobo Techo. You know, in BuJo it's at the beginning of the journal and lists the pages to find whatever info. Instead of page numbers, I'll use the daily dates. I'm considering using either the grey cover pages or some of the dotted pages in the back. Do you have any experience or advice on this? Thanks!
Hi! I think the little booklets from hobonichi are a great idea. I use one in my hobonichi weeks and I saw people use same in a6/techo and a5/cousin. They’re small, and you can transfer to other books!! Thanks for watching!!
@@ScientistPlans Hi! Thanks! I had mini booklets, and set up an index and weight tracker graph to keep in the back and also tear out pages on days I need more room. That is a great idea to use a booklet at the front for the index. I may tear out booklet pages and tape them in the front for the index.
I can‘t use a premade planner, because for some days I need several pages and for some days there‘s just one line. Then there are weeks where I just don‘t use the notebook and I need to skip huge sections of the book. Also, if you do it the original Bullet Journal Method way, you don‘t have to prepare any pages at all. If you start a new day, you just put the date on top of the page and there you go. I would highly suggest to anyone who wants to get into bullet journaling to read „the bullet journal method“ book, learn the system and stick to it religiously for several months until you really got the basic system working. it will take some time, but once you get into the workings of migration, you can get into some advanced stuff. no additional spreads to prepare, the monthly view takes literally 5 minutes and the daily setup takes 5 seconds. it‘s extremely stream-lined and there‘s no need to make spreads for the week or for trackers or whatever, just start with the basics: future log, monthly spread (like i said, 5 minutes) and daily log, and i promise it will change your way of thinking about planning out your life. ❤
@@marctestarossa Hi! Thanks for your comment! That’s a great point. I can see having as many pages as you need as a big advantage :) for sure a great method I haven’t trully (as it is described) tried yet.
@ to me it‘s extremely important, because it gets rid of 2 things that can keep me from writing something down. 1. is it worth writing down, because i have restricted space and don‘t know if something more important will come up during the day and 2. where do i write down the thing that just came to my mind, be it task or idea or just a random question that comes to mind that i want to think about later, for example: are long, artificial nails a status symbol, because they show that you don‘t have to work manual labour? the answer to those 2 problems is the bullet journal method, because i will never run out of space (at least not until the notebook itself is running out of pages, and even then I could just continue in the next book) and i never have to ask myself „where does that go?“ because it‘s always just at the end or if it‘s something longer than a quick note, the next free page.
I was doing something similar a Moleskine daily planner I picked up earlier in the year. I couldn't do a a bullet journal where I had to draw in monthly pages and date the daily pages. Me and undated planners don't get along LOL!

Just the video that I needed! I will be using an A6 for 2021 , and have been a bullet journalling my whole life. Thanks for this video!!
ohh so glad to hear that! :)
I thinking of using my A6 as my work planner and maybe my weeks to do my doodles... 🤔
All because I loved your ideas! Thank you for sharing!
Yes yes yes🤓🙌🏽 try it out, friend! If you don’t like it, turn the page and use it for somethinf different😉

Yes! It’s really making it easier to find my information and organize my tasks🤓
Love how you implemented the bullet journal method to work for you! And yes, I’m definitely not creative and need layouts ready for me as well!
I can’t make all spreads, but still love the method☺️🙌🏽
Thank you for sharing! It adds up to some conclusions for me! 🥰✨

Thank you!! My little handwriting helps😅 the hobonicho cousin might be better if you need more space!
The book makes it so clear and simple, doesn't it? I really didn't "get it" until I read it.
Yes! It saved me!😅
