In the ZOOM Adventure World Gelsenkirchen, we were able to see the chimpanzees being fed. Area manager Klaus Mette gives us an insight into the family group.
In the theme world called Africa of the ZOOM Adventure World in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, visitors can admire a family of chimpanzees. They are important ambassadors of their species and their habitat and live in a lifelike and species-appropriate installation with spacious facilities outside and inside.

During feeding, we can experience the whole family and learn a lot about the hierarchies and social conditions in a chimpanzee group. So you can see how humans and chimpanzees differ because here the law to the stronger applies. Chimpanzees think of themselves first and foremost, and males are no gentlemen.
The husbandry of great apes is central and very important. This is evident in the ZOOM Adventure World because the animals are part of the European breeding program that has only one goal: to create a very important genetic reserve in order to save the endangered animals. This also includes keeping apes in human care, because it is part of the comprehensive species conservation approach.

Das Füttern ist ja eine richtige sportliche Herausforderung! Ich glaub' wenn ich werfen würde, dann würde die Hälfte im Wassergraben landen.Da fällt mir ein: besucht doch mal den Affenberg in Salem (am Bodensee). Da kann man selbst Berberaffen mit Popcorn füttern :-)

Ja, das Füttern ist nicht ohne - so weit werfen, muss man wirklich erstmal können. Das ist nicht ohne.
