great video- first and only demonstration I have seen on how to change the magazine insert. Was so happy I bought this in 8x57IS while in Germany and that I bought a second barrel in .30-06. Big thumbs up for Blaser USA!
It depends on barrel length, kind of stock, barrel profile and caliber, but a standard r93 weighs around 3 kilos and a standard r8 weighs around 3.3 kilos.
the magazine and trigger is combined into one unit that can be removed and replaced, so yes in theory, but in reality you are stuck with a fixed magazine. unless you want to chough up the cash to purcahse an intire new trigger and mag assembely

R8 Professional Success .243 & 30-06 what a fantastic rifle.
I used to own one of the R8 but unfortunately had to sell it. It was the finest rifle I can ever imagine.
How do you remove the bolt action for cleaning? Really nice looking wood on the old girl. Great stuff mate
i live in california, so i would like this. Even if i didn't, this just seems like a nice, refined rifle
So you would need to pull the trigger off the rifle to change Magazine?
