Wow!!! She is definitely spot on! The reason why I have 5 jobs and several businesses because it is a trauma response for not being able to depend on my deadbeat dad. I'll post a video about this on my RUclips channel soon.

Same! I had 5 jobs at one time and a husband but still felt like I had to do it all myself. Absentee fathers and that rejection wound takes a long time to heal. I wish you well on your healing journey.

Just discovered this video today and I must say it was sooo powerful and eye opening to listen to.
New subscriber here and I enjoyed every bit of this-yes, I listened until the end at I’d love to hear longer conversations about this. 45 mins was great and it was a lot to digest (in a good way) but when it comes to these conversations I’d definitely listen for longer. Easy listening and thought-provoking conversations executed well! Again, I enjoyed every bit of this. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏾

Paused the show and ordered the book immediately plus paid the $2.99 to get it later today. Everything she’s talking about I resonate with so much.
As the oldest of 5 I went through so much trauma growing up due to unrealistic expectations, responsibilities, etc that I didn’t even realize was traumatic. Then I experienced several deaths in my family within a 6 month span and it rocked me to my core. Additionally once I became a mother myself, that trauma became heightened.
Over the last two years I’ve done a deep dive “healing journey” to heal because I had the two things KOBE mentioned - awareness and curiosity. I made a ton of progress, but realized that after acknowledging that this pain was real and affecting me negatively and working with those in my life who contributed to it, I eventually hit a road block. I knew what caused it. I knew my experiences were real. But, I didn’t know how to healthily move past it. Even with an undergraduate degree in psych there was only so far I could go on my own as some of my trauma is certainly generational (for example, I and one of my brothers are the product of a marital affair).
The holy spirit then told me it was time to hire a therapist and get more help and all of the things that seemed impossible to overcome quickly crumbled because she knew exactly what tools to give me to start moving past these things and it’s been wonderful.
I know this book will be a blessing to me and to others in my family.

36:54 to this topic "not project my anger on somebody else"I want to add:
I was conditioned not to get angry. This led me to dysfunctional discernment ability and into problematic situations. When you are now developing a sense of self, and you recognize that someone is treating me the same way, my abuser did. So yes, it is true, that the root of anger came from another person. But when the other human doesn't treat me right, then I have the right to get angry and protect myself.
In my example we are moving on another spectrum, where healthy anger (no violent, whether emotional, nor physical) is supposed to get on the right track in life.

This topic is a must... There are also others that don't see the cause of the problem. They only view the person for their current whereabouts (economic status; opinions; personality; etc.)-which therefore creates a lot of chaos for everyone involved. And, a lot of individuals put their children, friends, and so on-through unnecessary drama and stress simply for financial reasons and a common livelihood.

I’m grateful for the people who dedicate their time to fighting for reparations, restitution and equality etc. I understand that’s not a fight most of us have energy or faith for but we can’t let past disappointments discourage us with that either.
