I hope someone will come up with proper UK military markings for these helicopters. She’s an awesome little aircraft, that’s for sure and the sounds are really good too!
Glad your playing with the helicopters again. This is a great little aircraft. I am a massive fan of this. Was hoping for a seaking for the legend aircraft but this is good
Jon, the 'floats' that you mentioned around the 1:20 mark are actually fuel tanks for extended flying range. I was onboard HMS Rhyl in 72/73 and we had a Wasp then as did other frigates of the Royal Navy during the 60s and 70s. It's a pity that photos can't be shared here. Anyway, Asobo's done a brilliant job of the Wasp and so is your startup guide. Cheers.
Managed to contact an old shipmate who was a Wasp crew member. He confirms that the attachments on the port and starboard side are what the aircrew refer to as 'floatation clams' that are activated when submerged in sea water. This helps in the recovery of a heli in the event of a ditching. So I stand corrected fellas.
Hi Jonathan, thanks for these two videos, very helpful, great. Could you help me understand how to use the HSI in this helicopter? I guess it starts with inputting a VOR frequency on the radio bur how to use the two dial knobs on the actual instrument correctly? Dumb question I know but I’m new to this old HSI. Many thanks. Pete.
Question: can you change the askew wheels to allow you to taxi the heli? its barely mentioned anywhere, but British naval Helicopters seem to be using this idea to make it so it cant roll until the wheels are moved. always seemed quite clever to me.
Had no idea about the options panel. Thanks Jon
Thanks for looking at this addon. I bought it soon after watching your video and I‘m quite pleased with it. Keep on doing the great work!

They're definitely floats. Although I've never seen emergency floats mounted high up like that, so I'm curious to know how they worked.
Incorrect. They *are* floats.

I haven't found anything to control it yet.
In the real world you could. We would use them for auto rotations in a forward orientation.
Jon - I think you need to look for 25% on the compressor RPM, not the rotor RPM before ignition.
Hah - good point :)
You should check out the autopilot I would welcome your technical input. It’s rare that any helicopter in the sim has one.
It has autopilot?
@@Elcicikos it does. I’m going to test it today.
Wear do you get the "Westland Wasp" from and who is the creator?
In game marketplace - Inibuilds
