      Love Bug
      I know you know Bobby grew up selling sodas inside Legion Field dreaming of playing in that stadium. He was so explosive and the best running back we had in the entire decade of the 8O’s…..🐘🏈

      @moester75 yep. Just something about the way he ran. Never gave up and ALWAYS ran HARD AF. I see running backs nowadays looking for the boundary or going down after 1 touch. I don't ever remember Bobby doing that.

    I remember being the only BAMA fan on the Big Orange Bus full of UT fans going to Knoxville during Bobby Humphrey’s time. He ran all over UT that day for well over 200 yds and we beat the crap out of them. It was a nice quiet ride back to Nashville 😂 Love Bobby Humphrey!

    Good show! Bobby is my second favorite Bama player, after Johnny Musso.

    One of my favorite memories as a student at Alabama the same time that Humphrey was there is remembering the Stadium Announcer’s voice: “Humphrey the ballcarrier …. Gain of 8 ….. Firstdowwwn ALABAMA!” At Tennessee my sophomore year was awesome …. Pitch right, Pitch left, 8, 12, 15 yards a pop for a 56-28 rout.

    Bobby was a great back, and so much fun to watch. One of the best to ever wear Crimson.

    One of the greatest players in Alabama history!, also a great ambassador for the University of Alabama. Too bad his legacy son didn't appreciate his experience with the Tide!.

      Helped us win a NC but after losing the ‘16 NC and his interview in the locker room, I felt he cared a little less than others. But hey, some folks don’t like wearing their emotions on their sleeve. In contrast to Damien Harris’ interview after losing the ‘18 NC….. it’s was hard to watch and is the reason he’s my favorite offensive Bama player of all time. He has love for UA in the marrow of his bones! Rtr!

    Are there any Cornelius Bennett highlights in the offing?

      Yes, I’ll get to him eventually. I posted a list of what order of players I’m doing yesterday.

      I was there when Biscuit crushed Steve Beuerlien into oblivion during the Notre Dame game in Birmingham. The hit sounded like a gunshot and put a buzz in the crowd as it knocked Beuerlien out cold. The most devastating sack I have ever seen in person. I still have the poster of it all these years later.

      I was at the Bama/ A&M game when Van Tiffin kicked his 57 yard fg.
      I remember turning to talk with my cousin who was in the corps of cadets and when I turned back to watch the punt I was shocked!
      This isn't a punt formation , I thought.
      I recall thinking nobody kicks a fg from that distance. But I was wrong. He kicked it and he made it.

      I was at the A&M game also, and have to sadly admit I missed the kick. It was right before halftime and didn’t think they were in position to score, and made my way to the concession stand to beat the crowd. I saw the ball clear the crossbar, and heard the crowd. 😂

    Also gotta give credit the right side of the o line. He's running 5-8 yards past the los before he's touched. Condon and Joe King were absolutely killing people.

    Before Derick Henry, I would always say Humphrey was the best Bama running back of all time. I like Jelks and appreciated his great game against Auburn, but not as good as Humphrey!

    • @lovebug6822
      @lovebug6822 10 месяцев назад

      I love me some Henry as well but I think Bobby was a better RB because Bobby had NO o-line to block for him. You see Henry's runs & there are holes you could drive a zamboni through! Lol. I still think Bobby #1, Henry #2, Alexander #2A, Musso #3. Either way, I can't wait to see what this new coach can do! I'm hoping he doesn't just do good for a couple of years & then bolt for the NFL.

    I don’t care what anyone says, Gene Jelks was just as good, if not better, than Bobby. But Bill Curry screwed up his career when he moved him to defense.

    • @downsouthhighlights

      I saw him play while gathering clips for this video. I wouldn’t say he was better than Bobby but he definitely could’ve been had he not moved to defense

      No WAY!!! Bobby Humphrey was the BEST Bama back EVER!!! I love me some Henry but Bobby didn't have the All-Star o-line henry did.

      @@lovebug6822 I love Bobby. I actually met him once. He was fantastic. But Sean Alexander was better than him. I never understood why they didn’t leave Gene in the backfield. He and Bobby were ansmashing electric two headed monster Just IMHO

    • @br1rocks
      @br1rocks 10 месяцев назад

      So think about this…if Curry hadn’t moved Jelks, Jelks wouldn’t have been disgruntled…and wouldn’t have taken the bribe from Aubum to snitch to the NCAA..which wouldn’t have gotten the NCAA sniffing around the program…they wouldn’t have nailed us for playing Langham after he signed that cocktail napkin and took $250 from an agent in New Orleans…we wouldn’t have gotten sanctioned…Hootie wouldn’t have left…Stallings would’ve stuck around…Dubose would have never been HC…Albert Means wouldn’t have happened…no Dubose, no Fran, no Price, no Shula…all of this ultimately leading to Nick Saban being hired HC would never have happened. Boom 💥

    • @br1rocks
      @br1rocks 10 месяцев назад

      In other words, if Curry hadn’t moved Jelks to corner, Nick Saban would have never been our head coach. Roll Tide
