That walleye was epic man! My PB Walleye is an 8 and That fish was definitely bigger. Nice to see an angler who still gets excited when a big fish is on. Very Refreshing Nick.
I know you were chasing that walleye once you saw it on livescope but was there any other walleye suspended with that beast or was it by itself! Entertaining video with great explanation!!
That fish had some shoulders on it! Gotta love all these whiney bums hating on forward facing sonar in the comment section, probably mostly geriatric fisherman still stuck in the 60s. People really need to get a life and a clue. Nice fish nick!
Thanks Aaron. Man, the RUclips comments are actually very pleasant. The comments on Instagram are significantly worse. The hate is strong on that platform
Nick- good video, thk for the tips! How did u go about locating these fish? Did u just drop livescope down and start driving around? Looks like you were near some structure/island? Can u lovate those fish without livescope, i.e. side imaging?
I want to break this down more in-depth in another video, but the TLDR; is you search over and near deeper structure. Livescope is definitely the best way to find and target them. Alternatively, you can mark the fish with 2D sonar, you just won't be able to make precise casts at them. The best non-FFS way to catch these fish is trolling crankbaits roughly halfway down in the same areas. Guys have been doing that for years to catch these same fish, before FFS came around.
Love the vids, you've cost me a lot of money lol. So like the minimalist golfer or golf competitions, 1 club only type thing...if you were forced to fish walleye with only one rod and presentation type what would it be? Video worthy? I'm talking an entire season, ice out through fall, rivers & lakes. In the spirit of...'Beware the man with only one rifle.' Then add if allowed only 2 set ups for a season? Then maybe 3 and what they would be? Could be a thing between you and your pals to pick one only on a given day and compete for fun?
That is a fun concept. Funny enough it’s probably the presentation in this video. The jig was something on the back is tough to beat all season long. If I could add a second to the mix, it would probably be a drop shot. If I could add a third, it would probably be a bobber.
Lol at the back and forth on the electronics jabs. As for sigma males that is no surprise it was solo, the big game hunting world knows this story, so does the human world. ;) So is Nick young enough to go with depth only electronics? Or no electronics? Just funnin, would be cool to see a no electronics challenge with your pals.
@@NickLindner haha, well played, by accident thought?, I know in fish world the bigguns are the girlies but in a lot of mammal world it's opposite, we all got the point, the 'been there done that' crowd runs a really small circle...the biggest and baddest often only crowd of 1, anyway....my point was did you ever have to fish without electronics? a bunch of us that have figured out the interweb had to go through it all, well before the days of cell phones let alone smart phones lol...we all had to fish by brail you lucky whippersnapper ;)
heck we had to take most of our pictures on 35mm type cameras and go get them them developed haha...rotary phones anyone? oh yeah....been there dun that ;)
@@Bowhunting247 lol, we do alright, just getting back into it as Alberta has been way more about hunting for the past 20 years but past few years back into fishing game we have 17 pike over 40" now camping on ice, and getting our walleye game on both ice and now open water, sturgeon too, 95 wally's last weekend, got several in the 28-30 1/4" range ice/open water, so pickin up some tips from you whippersnappers as the game has changed, some of us old boys learn quick though, no electronics yet except my buds old fish finder for depth/speed when on his boat, I do paddle boards for a lot of my open water.., i did try to film hunts and do trail cam stuff, scouting summers with the spotting scopes, target specific trophies but all that took away from it for me, short experiments, my walls still loaded up with trophies and love them more for it, not sure I want to see all the fish down there, feels like it would be way too easy and cheaty...less is more, you video game kids do you though, never did like competing against others ie; derby's etc. but we have been in the money in the ones we get roped into joining, love these videos and do learn a thing or two, the old guys have a few tricks too ;)
Such a steezy “nothing to see here” move as the boat went by!! 😂😂👍🏼
Haha, it's sooo hard to play it cool when you just hooked up with a big walleye!

Thanks for watching. I honestly don't think I'll ever stop getting excited about big walleyes, even if it makes me look like a dweeb.
Between the “crud’s” and “oh my words” that opening scene is gold 😂
Parents beware, we graduated from G to PG in this one!
Good looking fish!! Normally when I hook in to those this year it’s a northern!! Good tips!!
I feel that pain! Thanks for watching craig
Nicely done Nick! Congrats!!!
Thanks man!

Thanks frank! This one was by itself. Sometimes you’ll see more than one, but a lot of the time, they are solo on the lakes in our area.
Thanks Nick love the content!❤️🎣
Much appreciated Evan!
Great tips, per usual, Nick. Thanks, Blonko the blundering angel.
Gracias blonko the blundering angel!
Great video Nick as always

Thanks man. It was a wild fish to catch in central MN.
Great fish Nick! Nice shoot!

Great tips so trolling with a spinner rig with a crawler would that be a good option
For certain!

Nick I have it said that a lot of big walleye suspend in summer! Why?
I’m not sure why exactly. Maybe the rest in-between meals?
Do you fish Pelican by Breezy Point? I've always had a tough time finding fish there, so I usually go for Gull or Long.
I’ve fished it a bit. I grew up near breezy. It’s been fishing really well this early summer so far
Nick - That's my spot! Caught several brutes on that exact spot where the boulders start... gotta keep the lake name unknown :)
You definitely won’t hear me blabbering!

Nick, was this a cisco based lake, or can the pattern work on perch lakes?
This particular lake was indeed a cisco lake, but this pattern is a thing on every lake I've fished for walleyes.
My favorite fish to eat... hands down!!!
They are tasty!
I have often wondered about that!
Yup! Thanks for watching
Nice tips and beautiful fish!
Thanks man!
That's a beast gravel lizard!
Thanks Troy!
Great fish!!!!!
Thanks Dan
Beauty Nick
Thanks Matt

#Hunted. #Hellyes. #SorryCrudYes :). Nice work this was crazy good.
You got it!
You go to lakes that have really big walleye to catch big walleyes duh!!! Lmao 😂
🤡
How to target really big walleye? Forward facing Sonar! Fishing is a thing of the past. It’s now high tech ‘catching’.
Enjoy your split shot rigs and paper maps, Jeff. Different strokes for different folks!
So what negative shit comment. Keep your shit to yourself if your jealous.
I use my vexilar over side of an aluminum boat built in 1959 and still catch fish like crazy every time I go out
