This is just me. If I was married to a wealthy man, and he passed, I WOULD CERTAINLY GIVE HIS KIDS SOME MONEY. I don't know how some people can sleep at night.
Glodean was the lead singer for Love Unlimited a Group that had its own identity although Barry Produced everything for the Group their success blew the Door wide open for Barry’s solo career. They weren’t just background singers and background dancers, Wendy should be ashamed for that
Darryl is from Barry's first marriage. Goldean & Barry did not live together for many years prior to his death. Barry had 4 children w/ his first wife and 1 w/ Goldean. Wendy's staff needs to get it together.
That is correct, also, by the time Barry and Glodean met she already had three children from a previous relationship and he adopted them when they married in 1974.
Barry White battled being over weight since his youth and his untimely death was due to kidney failure related to diabetes and high blood pressure. He died waiting for a kidney transplant. He will forever be the Maestro. He was the 1st to combine Classical & disco music together

I hate to rain on anyone's parade but being someone's legal spouse entitles them to EVERYTHING unless otherwise stated in a will. When you marry you become one with that person and nothing, not even kids, come between that.
Should she share with the kids? Maybe. Maybe not. The thing is that it's her choice. Once a kid hits 18 they are an adult and they are legally on their own. He's not ENTITLED to ANYTHING. How she sleeps at night is her own business.

Barry white was an icon and his wife was too and the group was love unlimited they had a few albums the song i belong to you and walking in their rain with one I love they were Barry's back up SINGERS also it was glo and her sister and a cousin they go way back to the 70s anybody who got their first apt back in the 70s and you had a housewarming soon as you come in you hear Barry white he was a household name everybody white and black had Barry's music love unlimited was on just about all of Barry's music I remember glo when I was a 11 or 12 my parents saw them in concert a couple of times his music still plays till this day he will always be a great musician and singer and also that was not a band that was his orchestra he had a degree in music like I do people should get their facts straight

@Willie frazier I'm not saying you shouldn't get a part of your father's estate , but the house could be sold and you and your sister could split the proceeds from the sale. Your father should be providing a wealth transfer to both of you. That's very sexist to say that she can always get married. He also sounds like a real woman hater.
No woman should marry just to be able to feel and be financially secure. I do believe under the law, all the children are entitled just certain percentages of your father's estate , after his wife gets her share. However I'm not a lawyer and I hope your sister seeks legal advice , so she can get her share of what is rightfully hers.
The person who needs blame is Barry White. It was his estate and he was a businessman. He could have wrote a will specifically giving each a portion. She does not have to share if she doesn't want too. Stop blaming her. Barry should have handled it and put it in a trust.
AND if that woman promised him some cash then she needs to put her money where her mouth is. Be a woman of her word.
It was Barry's place to take care of that. The fact that he didn't may say more than we know. Either way, expect a step-mother to do what the father didn't is unreasonable. Perhaps Barry had his reasons for not handling it while he was still alive to do so.
Would YOU leave it up to someone to take care of your kid(s), or would YOU make sure that you give your kids whatever it is that you want them to have?

It was up to Barry to handle that. If he didn't, there may have been a reason. Not necessarily a GOOD reason, but his reasons.

Also he didn't really die suddenly. He was having quite a few seizures after his stroke. He died of a massive heart attack in hospital. I would not have said "suddenly"

Don't talk about people maliciously, or you could have major personal problems. I am a huge Barry White fan and he was popular until the day he left this earth. I was a fan of the man, Barry White. He was kind and talented.

Actually, this is very personal and eventually, I suppose, should be litigated in court. Now, having said that: New Years Eve, 1998, I attended a show featuring William Downing and The Whispers. Goldean just happened to be seated in front of me, laying against this white gentleman who was dressed in attire, which was very similar in the way Barry White dressed. Again, this stuff is personal, however, she was out in public.

The bottom line is that when a parent wants their child to have something, they make sure that they get it. It was up to Barry to do that, not Glodean, as Barry had decades to get that together.

Barry had time during his kidney ailment to get his paperwork in order but seemingly didn't do so. I remember his last girlfriend had a son shortly before he died. Then, Glodean stepped back in like, yeah..but she aint gettin a dime of this money. At the time, I didn't blame her for stepping in like she did believing she was protecting her kids inheritance. However... Glodean Gotdammit should've set up a trust fund account for each of BW's sons & daughters and gave herself an administrator's fee, provided their divorce was final, ...and, then, got a glass of wine, sat down, and took a listen to BW's song to her, #WeHadWhatWeHad and call it life.

Exactly all her information is off on this one. Barry White died of cancer, I believe it was all of his pancreas. I didn't know about those other health issues that he had ship that Wendy mentioned , but with those alone he had to know that he wouldn't live a very long life. If that wasn't a wake up call then the cancer diagnosis certainly was. There is not a high survival rate for pancreatic cancer. If you look on RUclips you will find Barry White and Pavarotti, performing together in Italy . I am African-American but I like a wide genre of music as music is universal. However the reason why I mentioned Pavarotti is coincidentally both he and Barry White's life were cut short buy the exact type of cancer. Know that all of Barry White's ex-wives , said he was a wonderful man and they all were on a friendly basis with him. Far as I know the only claims the ex-wives can make is if they were married to him for more 10 years they are entitled to social security benefits. Next , his widow must split Barry White's estate with all of his bio children equally , after getting whatever she is entitled to percentage-wise under the law. If you die without a will , there are laws in place which state legally how a situation like this is to be handled. Most of Barry's children , must have been too young and had no one else to protect their legal rights. I am shocked as to how much money he must have made and never put anything in trust for his children. Did he not even believe them life insurance. My belief is everyone needs to start from whatever financial level they're at setting up things for your children . First thing I would get is life insurance , for my family. Start small with the basics , and add on other things for your children's financial protection as your income increases.

The entire ordeal was scandelous. It is alledged that Barry's management team would not allow his children to see him in the hospital.

A friend of mine has a child by Glodean's son, Kevin, who is Barry's stepson and you can best believe that Kevin is reaping those benefits 100 percent.
Kevin doesn't work, but drives an expensive car, lives in an expensive house, wears expensive clothes, spends money like he's worked hard to get it, etc. In addition the partying, the cocaine, the alcohol, etc., is all funded by who? This is why everyone should have a will, especially if there are blended families. You can't count on the stepmother/father to give money to the children. Why should they? It's not a blood relative, and even blood relatives become vipers after the funeral and money/real estate is involved.

Barry wasn’t with glodene since 1988 I believe. He passed away in 2003. So that’s what? 15 years. So the fact that she got his estate probably made him roll over in his grave. Even though Glodean is Darryl’s stepmother, I think she should give Darryl some of the money. Barry White was his father. She don’t have to give him half of the money, but enough to hopefully satisfy him. She have other kids, if one of her kids was in the same Predicament that Darryl is in she would help he/she out. Barry was 59 at his time of death. He was born Sept 12 1944 (per google). He passed away in 2003.
He died in July 2003 before his birthday so he was 58 when he died

Eugene Barry Carter stage name Barry White; was born September 12, 1944 Glodean Beverly James who married Barry White was born October 16, 1946. From my understanding to be a junior, (female or male), you must carry the same name as that parent. Barry White Jr was not named after his alleged father Eugene Barry Carter. And as far as Barry White Jr, why isn't he working, he's a grown man not a kid. I have no problem with parents leaving their children money but they should also have instilled in them the principles of education and self esteem. If my father and he did left me money and he did I would expect to collect that money and if anyone tried to stop me or hold it up they would be in court quick fast and in a hurry. So what I'm taking from this gossip from Wendy Williams is that this young man was not in his father's will. Because why would he need to protest the courts if he was in the will. All he had to do is get an attorney and they would have fought for him to get his fair share of whatever his father left him in the will.

But nooo, y'all wait until the eyes close, panic and start begging and starting Fund Me pages. What does that say about your character as a responsible adult? And you may not understand the insurance process but when your loved one dies you get a check. The average funeral costs almost $8600 bucks but for $20 a month you can get a policy that's worth $$$$$100 GRAND. That alone should motivate even the chronically lazy.
