@@isabellerdgz I was curious about the digital nomad visa. Is it true you can only stay there 6 months out of a year? How do you get to stay there year round?
@@tomkempf8460 I don't stay there year round, was only there for 6 months. I know some people who will leave for a week and come back after 6 months and don't have problems though it isn't technically the "right way to do it." I believe the digital nomad visa allows you to stay for 3 years though and the requirements are not hard to meet at all.
Hey Great Video. And I also think about going to Medellin for a while. But I have heaters about increased violence and armed robbery and stuff like that against foreigners. Do you agree on that or how do you feel about the security situation right now ? Would be supper curious 😊
Hey, thanks for watching. I was staying where foreigners don't really stay and I speak spanish fluently so I wasn't standing out. I also don't wave my phone around or wear a rolex. I was more cautious in places like el Poblado at night because thieves are smart, everyone knows foreigners are there so the money is there. I also took ubers at night. I wouldn't go out walking on lonely streets in the middle of the night with my phone out, speaking english. As long as you have common sense there you should be fine.

I started making money online when I was 16 so I had location freedom but got a remote job when I was 18. They let me work from home but only in Canada/US so I got a "work from roam" job September of last year so I could have that location freedom again.
I am a freelancer and have more than 12,000 hours at Upwork and thinking to move Colombia as a digital nomad visa. Let me know what you do online work? Where are you from actually and your video is so impressive, Thanks.
@@unrealenginedevplus You should be able to stay in Colombia for 6 months without a visa but it depends on your passport of course. Over those 6 months, I'd stay in airbnbs in a couple different neighbourhoods in the city you're interested in to see what you like. You should look for rentals once you're actually in Colombia - it's much easier than doing it from abroad.
Don't want to put any names here because I like to keep work separate from personal life and hobbies but you should be able to find me if you look up my name on linkedin
I ended up spending 25 days in Medellin, I had a blast. I'm planning on moving there for 3-6 months soon.
Glad to hear you had a great time :)

Dope! I'm just starting my RUclips channel as an Expat in Qatar. I'll be following your journey. Are you Colombian btw?
Cool, excited to see your Qatar content! Only 6% Colombian haha so I'm not sure it counts
lol ah gotcha. I'm interested on how you became a nomad. Definitely something I'd like to transition to in the future. I'll be tuning in.
