- Here's a look at Sanibel Island 108 days after Hurricane Ian. You'll see from the causeway up to the Tram Lot for Ding Darling Park. Then you'll see the area from the 4-way stop to Lighthouse beach.
It's nice to see nature reasserting itself. Everything looks green again. Great video. Cheers.
Awesome work!
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Of course
Many years back I remember a smaller hurricane through the area an the Australian Pines were whipped, palm trees shredded, like no time at all Mother Nature pulled it together an everything started returning to a lush look again.
In Miami after Hurricane Andrew an so much devestation everywhere, that it was announced that even Fairchild Natural Gardens would maybe have to close. We'll u guessed it, they cleared the debris an a little fertilizer an the gardens were rejuvenated an grew back better than ever.
Our prayer will be the same for beautiful Sanibel an Captiva.
Thank you so much for the update. We stayed at the Parrots Nest which looks like it probably is gone. So sad. Looks like the clean up is pretty slow there too. We love Sanibel ❤
We thought things looked pretty good. Much better than Fort Myers Beach, granted we didn't see much near the beach.
@@CaribbeanCastaways oh definitely! Compared to 2/3 months ago it’s already come a long way. I know work and cleanup is constant, much kudos to the people, the teams. I wouldn’t even know where to begin. we just appreciate your updates. Keep ‘em comin’. The carnage is not going to be fixed overnight… It’s good to see people at the beaches but sad to see how much the beaches have changed. Some restaurants reopening, some gone forever. Hard to even imagine what Florida has been through.
It would be a much more informative video if you had two cameras pointed about 80 degrees to the left and right. All this video shows is that the roadway is intact and clear.
It's amazing how stripped bare the trees are. Sanibel was always a real shady island, now it looks sun beaten. The canopies are shredded off the trees!
