Ever since Medieval 2 Total War, Denmark has been my favorite country to play in strategy games, but I never tried them in Vic 3. Thank you for doing what I was not brave enough to try.
I do love that you show your demographics throughout the video. The changes in your states play a huge part in the expression of the player, and when I play myself I can spend hours looking at the map to investigate how I impacted the world.
31:42 I imagine multi-culturalism is less of "We won't try to assimilate you" and more of "You can keep your tradition while you learn ours." It's likely based on modern day USA with it's national identity instead of a racial one.
@@digitaljungle7154 Eh, multiculturalism isn't quite one-way. Immigrants assimilate/integrate, moving towards the country's culture to fit in, but they also bring their own culture, and it adds to the local one. You know, a "melting pot". And obviously they still keep some of their distinct cultural identity
@williamchu6812 In reality, yes, but in the game, they convert/assimilate to one of the primary cultures with no trace of their old culture. It would be cool if Chinese immigrants to America created the Chinese American culture, but the game would probably explode if it keeps dividing like that
I would 100% recommend a Boer playthrough, they're surprisingly fun if you can get a good migration game going. As an additional challenge I would say that you shouldn't ever go multiculturalism, trying to run an African nation solely with European immigrants. It's hard, but genuinely great fun
Last game, I wasn't even looking at denmark for most of it but when i looked there were only 200k people left in denmark and 70% of them were Ewe with an abysmal SoL of 4.
I like how halfway through some of the guides, you decide to have fun with the alt-history storytelling. Also, would there be a case to have the Danelaw mod work for general Scandinavians? I know "Dane" is in the name there, but would a ambitious Sweden, very ambitious Norway, or very--very-ambitious Finland have a case if they absorbed the original Danes first? Love your work by the way.
Is it feasible to do the diplomatic shenanigans with China and the EIC to break them free from Britian as the Sikh Empire? Because if it is, I'm absolutely going to try it. And 1836 or 37 India out of Britian's grasp would be a dream campaign for me.
I saw daneland and thought this was a ck3 Danelaw inti daneland playthrough and thought "damn you really played that long just to get Northern England and nothing else"
As a Dane i only have 1 critique. HOW COULD YOU GET RID OF THE MONARCHY!?!?!?!? If there is one thing Danes love, it's the goddamn monarchy! Also? Why do you pronouce Copenhagen so wierdly? Copenhagen is the English name for "København". So just pronounce Copenhagen normally lmao. anyways 10/10!
Ehhh.. "Love" is a strong word xD Happy for having an emergency government that republics does not have. And hey. Personally I appreciate the effort in pronouncing the names natively. Not that it matters. But in my book, anyone going out of their way to speak Danish is crazy, and deserves respect. 😂
Amazing video! At 25:30 though, won't you not actually nationalise anything from the British if you yourself are on Laisse Faire? Because you literally cant nationalize
I do believe the war goal bypasses the lack of ability to nationalize that normally accompanies laissez-faire but I didn't really check. I mostly did it just to GIGACHAD on Britain.
@@Tarkusarkusar sadly it's broken (there's a great mod that lets you check foreign ownership %). Having said that, controlling the home counties province should bring those financial districts into your hands anyway :)
Historical XIXth century Denmark wanted to join Germany as all the aristocracy was pretty much German at this time, but Bismarck said that Danes are not Germans and that didn't happen. Just shows how low Denmark has fallen really
Well, it was more our King was really fucking desperate to hold onto Slesvig and Holstein, so he secretly pretty much begged to Otto von Bismarck that if Danmark got to keep Slesvig and Holstein they would join his german empire project. Our King got a resounding no. It wasn't some plan by our aristocracy as much as a desperate last gamble by our King to hold onto the richest parts of Danmark, and to keep some semblance of national Pride.
I don't think the exploit works anymore where a country on yoir side of a war can't join a war against you. I tried it as Belgium, joining France in a war and trying to take portugal from them. But France joined Portugal anyway. does it only work if you don't attack their subject directly? maybe I should have attacked a subject of portugal to draw them in the war?
wait could you do the EIC breaking up strat when playing sikh empire? If so forming India will be much faster, you would be undisputed power of the subcontinent and you wouldnt have to fight the british IT WORKSSSSSSS WHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTT
Definitely. This is the current meta strategy for the Sikh Empire, which sadly was discovered AFTER I made my Sikh Empire guide lol. I'll make a new guide sometime to show off the new potential for the Sikhs.
The first music in the video just makes it annoying for me to even enjoy watching it further, it's irritating and I would prefer to just hear your voice or the actual game music more than the music you've put in your video.
Who up Jorvik their Danelaw?
I'm in England straight up raiding IT and by IT well, let's just say my Monastery...
She industrialised my denmark til my gdp skyrocketed.

Extremely underrated comment, and replies.

The Qing is always weak in the game anyway, until they modernize

Going to be a ton of fun in EU5 too, assuming they go for some historical flavour where Denmark is a pawned out shell of a country at game start.
I do love that you show your demographics throughout the video. The changes in your states play a huge part in the expression of the player, and when I play myself I can spend hours looking at the map to investigate how I impacted the world.
The strategy here is insanely well done and interesting.

I always saw it like this. We won't legally discriminate against you, but if you assimilate, your neighbors won't discriminate against you either.

Either when the next DLC comes out, or when I get bored of Vic 3, whatever comes first.
