Red wasn't obvious to her, he was an enabler. One of his biggest running jokes was that the worse you treated Eric, the more he liked you. When was he nice to Kelso? When Kelso was openly scamming and abusing Eric. When was he nice to Donna? When she was being abusive and vindictive to Eric. Why did he like Hyde so much? Because Hyde's friendship with Eric was almost cartoonishly one-sided, and Hyde mistreated Eric like it was part of his religion. And he didn't even hide that a major factor in why he liked Jackie so much was that she was meaner to Eric than the rest of them combined. So on, so forth... You could be a serial killer, Red would help you hide the bodies if you were abusive to Eric. That's part of why Red's turn on her was so out of character- He always knew, he just made excuses about it, or intimidated everyone else into not saying a word. She didn't do anything new, or even take what she had always been doing to a new level, and she was just as mean and ugly to Eric around it, so why the paradigm shift?
akiameko1984 dude, that isn't really a running joke. In fact, he defended his son a lot, but did also let the Eric's friends mess with him because that's how teenagers are. And he's harsh with Eric, because he grew up in the 40s and 50s, and that was a common way to treat your sons to "toughen" them up. It's toxic, yes, but he was also called out for it by Kitty. Which is why it worked. Kitty let him be hard to Eric and stepped in when it was too much. And to say that Eric's friendships was abusive it stupid. Even nowadays, best friends tease the shit outta each other. And Donna did take advantage of him, but he did it to her too.

She’s absolutely my favorite tv mom ever, she was hilarious, understanding, lovely and helpful, she didn’t look like one of those fake tv mothers, she looked like a real mother in the real world and I think that’s what makes her special. The way she played her role was stunning!
I agree. She was my favorite TV mom, too. I didn’t really pay much attention to her at first, focused on the kids, but in the episode where Donna kept beating Eric at HORSE, and Red was “fixing” her refrigerator, so she took a sledgehammer to the garage door opener, then told him to never mind the refrigerator, there was something wrong with the garage door opener. LOL, that was the moment I realized she was the funniest one on the show 😁🤣 Loved her ever since 😊
I love how realistic and complex they made her character. I feel like a lot of shows lately have been making such boring 2D characters and it makes it so much less interesting
Before the menopause, Kitty controlled Red through love and kindness as her soft and sweet dedication broke through his bitter wall and allowed him to be vulnerable. After.... he was trapped in pure terror.
I loved the moments when Red would seem a little frightened of Kitty. They were so cute and funny together! I still watch this show all the time. It just never gets old!
Eric's friends didn't only like hanging out in his basement just because it was a nice basement. His house felt more "at home" and "welcoming". Red may be a hard ass but means well. And Kitty was more of a mother to everyone in the group. Plus, there's always food at his house

You forgot to show her being the Best Mom Ever when she brought Eric and Hyde coco and cookies. While Hyde would never admit it to Eric, Kitty is the Mom he's needed his whole life. He thinks the world of her. Hyde demonstrated how much he appreciated her when he was the only one to remember and get Kitty something for her birthday.
And hyde was the son she deserved. Despite being doted on by his mom, Eric never really did a lot of things to appreciate her. It mattered to him more when his dad showed just a tiny bit of affection towards him.

This is the best family comedy ever in my opinion. It is real life like we lived in the 70s-which I did. We had the basement with old furniture to hang out in, friends dropping by-always at my mom and dad's house. My mom was kinda an early Kitty Forman. I tape this show a lot.
Sometimes I feel like a loaf of bread. Everyone keeps taking a slice of me until all that's left are the two crusty pieces that nobody wants. And I just want to scream, "APPRECIATE ME, DAMN IT!" -Kitty Forman
It’s a rephrasing of a Garland quote. I think Judy said, I’m not a pizza, you can’t keep spreading me thinner and thinner so everyone can have a piece of me.
When i was growing up kitty reminds me of my mom she adopted all the friends of me and both my brothers as her own and always had the good snacks 🤠💯♥️🧡💙
I love how Eric's friends all called Red by either his first name or just foreman. But they always called Kitty Mrs Foreman. And when they would say " Thank You Mrs Foreman" in unison.
Honestly, her family didn’t deserve her. She was too loving and they didn’t appreciate her enough. Red had his moments, but he usually just leaves her to do all the work. Love kitty so much ❤️
Kitty was such a well-written, well rounded character who was intelligent with a lot of depth and warmth and kindness, but who also didn't put up with any crap. Plus she was hysterical. One of my favorite episodes is when Eric shadows her at the hospital and realizes how hard her job is as a nurse and he appreciates her a lot more.
you forgot Donna's bachelorette party... when they went to the strip club... that one was so funny, that in the bloopers she didn't stop until she heard CUT and by then everybody in that scene were purple from laughing so hard. :)))
My Dad was Red Forman in a three piece suit and my Mom was a Nurse. She wasn't stupid or crazy though. I do remember her singing at the top of her voice in the car sometimes and her driving to the reservoir to sit for a couple of hours and just be alone. With three kids and two dogs and my Dad, alone was a precious commodity. This happened a lot when she was on the Cancer Ward. It really tore her up and she only lasted three years there. She ended up the Nursing Administrator for the entire Hospital. She would drive the two hours into to work each morning, do her 8 to 9 hour shift, finish her shift, go down and do 3 to 4 hours as an advice nurse and then drive the hour and a half home every day. She tried to retire at age 65 but no one would take her job. She couldn't retire until age 68 and they had to break up her job and give it to three people. She's in her 80's and every time she goes to an Alumni meeting they all want her back and they aren't just saying that to make her feel good. And yes, everyone hung out at our house. Used to piss my Dad off bad. "Why the hell am I feeding the entire neighborhood? Why don't they go home for dinner? Dammit!" We lived in Northern California so we didn't have a basement but we did have a Garage, an in-ground pool, a Rec room and always had food and soda in the cupboards and refrigerator.
The parenting class was so funny. All i remember was her going all crazy. And then Kelso was like "in private ur nice and clam but out her in the real world ur a little crazy" lol
Taniwha M That's like something I'd say lol because I laugh like that too when I'm trying to hide the fact that I'm laughing but can't quite do it lol.

Red and Kitty seem like one of the most believable couples in sitcom history
Debra Jo Rupp is THE most underrated American TV comedienne. I've never seen her being anything less than brilliant.
This is the best family comedy ever in my opinion. It is real life like we lived in the 70s-which I did. We had the basement with old furniture to hang out in, friends dropping by-always at my mom and dad's house. My mom was kinda an early Kitty Forman. I tape this show a lot.
This actress is really good, Red too. Her laugh is contagious
Donna said it best..."She made me waffles, now promenade you son of a b*tch" 😂😂😂😂
Bob are you making fun of my hair 😂😂😂
And then they have him take off his toupee a few scenes later. 😂 Hilarious!
Sometimes I feel like a loaf of bread. Everyone keeps taking a slice of me until all that's left are the two crusty pieces that nobody wants. And I just want to scream, "APPRECIATE ME, DAMN IT!"
-Kitty Forman
Any mum can relate to this
@@deborahgate965 Or any kid can relate to this
It’s a rephrasing of a Garland quote. I think Judy said, I’m not a pizza, you can’t keep spreading me thinner and thinner so everyone can have a piece of me.
The crust slices are highly coveted in my family.
Kitty, holding up her own blender: this place uses too much ice.
*I'm deceased*
When i was growing up kitty reminds me of my mom she adopted all the friends of me and both my brothers as her own and always had the good snacks 🤠💯♥️🧡💙
*"Oh My Goodness: I AM FLYING RIGHT OFF THE HANDLE!! hahaha"* - the follow up laugh CRACKS ME UP every time. *You know IT'S COMING* 😂🤣😭
The laugh kills me every time
I love how Eric's friends all called Red by either his first name or just foreman. But they always called Kitty Mrs Foreman. And when they would say " Thank You Mrs Foreman" in unison.
5:26-5:43 The best moment of Kitty ever!
MikeRiderOOO Easily 😂 the only person capable of getting away w/ calling Red a dumbass to his face
"I feel like a... raaainnbowwww........Does anyone else feel like a ..........raaaaainnbowwww?"
BlackTigr, Inc. Right?! How did they not include that gem.
Or the whole I liked the way the coat felt on my arms :)
The nails thing 👌🏻 all men watching this should take this to heart
I’ve literally had the same exact moments as the cigarette scene and I’m also a nurse! Lol
How did she not win an Emmy for this?
I love Kitty, she's too funny!
how dare you make a video about kitty and not include her silly dance at the strip club. the bloopers for that scene are the best of the whole show
homemadehuman i thought the same while watching!
I kept waiting for that scene...excluding that scene should be a crime.
agree. that always makes me cry of laughter
25 times she was a great tv mom. Not 25 best scenes.
Lol i was watching waiting for that scene
Honestly, her family didn’t deserve her. She was too loving and they didn’t appreciate her enough. Red had his moments, but he usually just leaves her to do all the work. Love kitty so much ❤️
Hands down my favorite TV Mom ever. I am 60 and I didn't even know I needed her until I did.
KITTY: “It’s not dirty.”
RED: “But it’s not clean either.”
ME: “Not when you’re doin’ it right!” (High fives Red)
Red: Is that what I think it is
Kelso: If you mean paprika yes sir
Kitty: Honey paprika is red
Kelso: If you mean green paprika yes sir
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
She was so calm saying it to lmao she knew Kelso was lying 😁😁😁
miss trise Awwwww I know it’s hilarious 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
But paprika is green...
"Hyde help me out, what am I thinking of?"
"Aregeno."
"IF YOU MEAN AREGENO, YES SIR!"
😂😂😂
1:34
Kitty: Boys, I realized that I may have been a little irrational today.
Kelso: A little?
Kitty: SHUT UP!
Bigmetroidfan12 kelso is an idiot
But you got to admit that the scenes with Kelso are funny, even though he is a moron
It was sad when Fez one time told her “You’re not my mother.” 😢
Brell215 It happened when Kitty didn’t want Fez to date this older woman and then that’s when he said it. Which leads to this thumbnail.
She's not but she loved him like a son and did everything for him so it was really sad.
OOTW Publishing & Media Fez only told her that because Kitty didn’t want him dating this older woman, one that Kitty hates.
OOTW Publishing & Media not when you remember what she said to him when she thought he dropped her wedding ring out the car window.
Yeah that’s messed up
Red and Kitty were the only reason why to watch THAT 70"S SHOW.
Yup. Red is my favorite character.
All that "foot-in-ass," and "dumbass!"
She's honestly one of the best parts of the show
You missed one of the best. When kitty says to red. When you talk to laurie you have a conversation. When you talk to eric you give him orders.
My dad in a nutshell
That has to be the best line ever.
@@LaineMann Sorry I never saw your post until now. So did you get the conversation or the orders?
@@crystalbluewire3339 I think so too.
@@LaineMann both my parents where in military so yeah same with me and my 2 bros of course my sis was the golden girl
Bob: Hey there Harpo, where's your horn?
Kitty: Bob, are you making fun of *MY HAIR*?
Kitty is such a savage lol
I remember why first time watching the scene when she cussed Red out and I was screaming!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"And I didn't start drinking until I met you."
That's hilarious.
Yess! Kitty said that to her mother in law! 🤣
@@lynepomminville3584 And she just flat out said it with full confidence and composure like, "Bitch, don't start with me, because you will lose."
My parents were kitty and red without the wine. It was awesome. I miss my dad and i miss my moms humor
“I may have been a little irrational”
“A little”
“SHUT UP”
😂😆😆😆
Michael :'' a little..?''
Kitty: ''SHUT UP''..... the first time i saw that scene i cried of laughter LOL hahahaha
what an iconic sitcom mother. Her laugh is one of a kind
*"Oh, Honey!!"* Kitty does not get her just due even when she played on Friends as Phoebe's brother's lady friend
Or on Seinfeld
Kitty was such a well-written, well rounded character who was intelligent with a lot of depth and warmth and kindness, but who also didn't put up with any crap. Plus she was hysterical. One of my favorite episodes is when Eric shadows her at the hospital and realizes how hard her job is as a nurse and he appreciates her a lot more.
Had to stop eating my cheesecake to watch this so I wouldn't choke while laughing so hard. She's a gatdamn gem! 😂😂😂
JessicaRabbit324 u cant choke on cheesecake
MMmmmm cheese cake
I had to stop watching I Love Lucy when I was eating too, for the same reason. haha
Red: Morning sunshine, what's for breakfast?
Kitty: A funnel.
Epic.
you forgot Donna's bachelorette party... when they went to the strip club... that one was so funny, that in the bloopers she didn't stop until she heard CUT and by then everybody in that scene were purple from laughing so hard. :)))
That’s one of my favorite episodes ever ♥️😂
"Oh my God it's Casey!!"
Mila was actually laughing in that scene on tv
Oh Kitty, how much we love you so!!
And I wasn't drinking, I was reading to the blind!!!! 🤣🤣 Love Kitty lol
Why did I not see
Kitty (to Red): Or my foot will be in your ass!
Red's shocked face
Kitty: Yeah, I can do that too!
Matthew Roberts ,which episode?
@@ericortega7342 Season 8, episode 12. Killer Queen.
She actually said "YOu're about to get a vast inventory of my foot in your ass!" The rest is accurate.
“What do you have to say for yourself?” “I’m STARVING!”
I’m done 😆
Ikr, that was gold..
Dammit!"
We lived in Northern California so we didn't have a basement but we did have a Garage, an in-ground pool, a Rec room and always had food and soda in the cupboards and refrigerator.
Sounds like a nice way to grow up. And I’m not being saying that sarcastically, I really mean it. That sounds like nice childhood.
Kitty reminds me of my mom, so sweet and then she just hits a breaking point 😂
She is so witty and fun. Love her ! 😘❣
#9 & #8 are my favorites. She was the best character on the show IMO. Also surprised that her teaching Kelo's parenting class wasn't on here.
Michelle DiPalo best character 100%
Her and leo
My faves were number 8,6,4, 3, and 1
The parenting class was so funny. All i remember was her going all crazy. And then Kelso was like "in private ur nice and clam but out her in the real world ur a little crazy" lol
and #7
*"sinuses"*
Love it 😎👍💯🔥
Taniwha M That's like something I'd say lol because I laugh like that too when I'm trying to hide the fact that I'm laughing but can't quite do it lol.
Eria Yuki .. Hehehe oh bless you. That's adorable
forgot how funny he looked without the hair! One of few shows I watched from day 1 to the end of it!
If my mom was this cool I'd have stayed home more.
Amen...
That must explain why I havent moved out yet.
When they first ran this show I fell over laughing... It reminded me of myself and my friends... I was the the brown one... My friends were all boys and 4 of them had a mom like Kitty... and a dad like Red!! 🤣🤣🤣
