She and Leslie are hysterical together. He had started the sweetest Instagram account during Covid. I adored him. He talked about growing up. I guess in the small southern town his father was appalled that “This” was his son. He was a kind and gentle soul.

I watched this show on DVD with my parents when I was little, like 12 years old if not less. I understood I am bi at 18. I always loved the show but Karen was my favorite and still is. Now I can see why haha and I want and need to rewatch the show, it is like watching it with whole other new eyes
The sequel seasons were great, but my biggest beef with them is how they just decided to retcon Karen’s bisexuality for some obscure reason? I just never understood the goal there, it could have been so much more interesting to explore her having relationships with women
@@lisak8492 I think they were trying to stay authentic to the character. Have you ever dated an older bi person who's just peeking their head out of the bi closet? This is exactly how they behave. Also, to be fair, there are people who are straight and try having a relationship with the same sex as an experiment (even later in life). Sexuality is fluid. I don't think this was politically motivated at all.
Her flings were always brief though and didn’t make a lot of sense other than some sort of comedic break. Lionel Banks, Lyle Finster, Malcolm, Scott Woolley, Martina…the Sultan… 🤷🏻♂️
I’d love to write Karen into her own sitcom, they’ve hinted for a spin off show called Jack n Karen. That would be fun to watch her in her world around jack, will and grace. 😂
As much as I loved the show, and especially Karen, I remember that (as a teenager watching at the time they were aired) the jokes around Karen's attraction to women often depended on the 'craziness' or 'outrageousness' of her being attracted to women. I'm an openly bisexual woman now, but as a teenager these kind of jokes definitely didn't help me to associate bisexuality and/or attraction to women with genuinely being a positive thing or possibility - more as a crazy joke that didn't need to be taken that seriously.
Will and Grace first aired when I was 8 and I would religiously tune in. To say that I have been hopelessly and tirelessly searching for my "Karen and Jack" for the past 🤧*xjvqkri*🤧 years, would be a collasal understatement. Even to this day, I find myself, on rare occasion, wishing on a knock on the roof, graveyard drive-by, that someday I will be lucky enough to find friends like those gems.🤞

It was handled terribly. She builds up true feelings for another woman who cared for her, and the relationship was dismissed abruptly and crassly.
