- This video details how ultrasound technology can be used to perform a bilateral examination to evaluate the carotid arteries for Carotid Intima Media Thickness or CIMT, as well as clinician and patient positioning, and ultrasound transducer orientation. This video also covers the recommended ultrasound scanning angles for use during the CIMT examination. Thanks
very nice videos
Carotid CMT exam per se is missing from the video.
good demo
I may need this test from what i'm exsperienceing
I want to know how we differentiate ICA and ECA at the bifurcation
good teaching💗
What are the norms? What are the abnormal? Thanks if you reply.
Thanks for the video demonstration.
The 3 positions for scanning 2 o'clock, 4 o'clock and 5 o'clock - not clear. Can you explain.
I'm assuming the voice box (Adams apple) is 12 o'clock and the spine would be 6 o'clock.
@drroussakis You would have to know the difference between their doppler waveforms, try the temporal tap while using doppler, or just look at the size. ECA is usually smaller than the ICA.
Gloves please
in ultrasound you do not have to wear gloves all the time look it up. unless you have direct contact with body fluids gloves are not always required.
nice exam, but standing at the head of the bed is not practical in the hospital patient setting.
Common carotid artery
Where are her gloves? Thanks otherwise.
Great! But what about some gloves? O.o
NO GLOVES !!!
tsk tsk.
